TC77 said:Advice please! I have a large metal jam making bowl - around 50cm diameter with handles. I don't make jam but my dad did (and I may). It's been on a kitchen shelf taking up lots of room and I used to hide treats in it but my young people know they are there and we're trying to be healthier. I don't want to part with it if I can find a good use for it. Had thought of coal as have a real fire (I hardly use) and a coal holder belonging to ex that I can get rid of but the jam pan is attractive in its own way probably not next to my v smart fireplace. Conscious that if someone trips over it might not be good so really welcome ideas. it's about 13/14cm tall. Thanks fellow declutters.....Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright10

Thanks ailz95 and everyone for suggestions. I will keep for ice and drinks when we things ease - haven't entertained properly for a few years so a good excuse. Not a lot done - a broken hairbrush 831832 - 833 old food uu and other thrown awayI have 11 keys that I have no idea what they belong to (although nagging feeling some may have fitted the bike locks I got rid of a couple of months ago after keeping years waiting to find keys. Going to keep for a few more weeks in case I find anything with a lock. Got rid of DD money box which had one key (and think 2 are from that) Have one padlock with no key and I with a key!!Managing to do my daily walk which declutters some stresses and hopefully lbs so I can declutter some clothes.Anyone know/like Andrew Mellen? (most organised man in America) - listening to him has helped me with some sentimental clutter.12

1. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 30 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY AT LEAST TWICE EVERY DAY2. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT3. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE NICE TO EVERYONE & TRY TO SEE THE FUNNY OR PECULIAR SIDE TO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
4. DAY TO DAY DECLUTTERING WILL CONTINUEHangs head in shame 😞 for not posting 😞 Any hoo, Sunday was a lovely day if slightly cooler than of late. Stripped bed, washed & line dried the bedding & remade bed. Did a 2nd load of washing which was also line dried. Finished scarf no.40 & have now started knitting a baby blanket in feather & fan stitch - a four row pattern that is very easy but the finished product looks really complicated 😉 Dinner was supposed to be a beef, ale & mushroom pie. However, no ale 😱 so winged it 😆 Ended up with an unctuous beef, mushroom & red wine casserole padded out with green puy lentils, carrots & frozen peas & used ready made puff pastry as a top (like a pub pie 😉) mashed potato for DSis, mashed sweet potato & turnip mash for DH & I + fresh boiled carrots. Yummy, yummy, yummy 😋Monday was mostly overcast but reasonably warm. I treated myself to a trip into town - the DLR was empty enough to be able to socially distance, banked my almost out of date Premium Bond winning cheques & £50 in coins from my Terramundi pot. Posted birthday cards, competition entries etc. Unfortunately absolutely nothing else was open apart from a T*sco Express & I didn’t need anything. As my Oystercard is free it was a very cheap morning out - total spend zero, zilch, nada, nothing 😁 All a bit spooky - a ghost town - but at least I got some exercise 😉 Then back to TV, AB2 & knitting. Dinner was the last of the beef casserole with pie lids for DH & DSis, accompanied by mashed potato & green beans from freezer. My DSis has yet another favourite 😉

Good advice supersaver1000 👏 but as you say it sometimes takes a long time to reach a decision. Well done on the decluttering - weeds, dirt & calories 👏Excellent work tiddles 👏 you have been busy 👏Good work TC77 👏 what a great idea 💡 - wearing something & noting how you feel about it - sounds like an excellent decision making tool 👏 Also thanks for the tip on Andrew Mellen - I have bookmarked to iPad & will have a watch/listen in the next couple of days.Excellent start to your cs bag Wednesday2000 & great that you can store outside your house 👏
You are welcome newlywed 🙂 - don’t forget to keep it polished 😉Nice to see you leelad 🙂 Well done on sorting your daughter’s room - 3 hours well spent to make your daughter happy (after the initial reluctance 😉) 👏

Cut up more boxes and in recycling bin. Repurposed some polystyrene to bodge a bracket for my router which kept falling off the shelf. Planted some seeds the compost is very old so hope they'll grow.
Still looking at my big cupboard where everything got dumped when I moved in here, I've never had the strength to sort it out after the first few days when I put stuff in the loft. In theory the cupboard stuff was stuff I'd need but it seems not.
Not doing too well with lockdown, sleep has gone to pot and I've not been eating properly, too much junk.Magnolia Stellata11 -
TC77, not sure how big the jam pot is , but could it be used to store rolled towels in ? In the bathroom?Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.10
