Virgin Money Current Account

That's really tickled me 🤣Alexland said:ryan92 said:I have 3 Virgin Money Current Accounts and I get the interest paid monthly on all threeWine arrived today and just opened a 2nd individual account and deposited £1k againSo is there a published limit to the number of individual and/or joint accounts you can have?I'm only using these for stoozed money to offset a 0% Virgin credit card :-)1 -
Thanks when applying I said the source of funds was "from my own account" and purpose was "savings" so I am being honest and it's up to them if they accept the application. I will leave it a week and then apply for a 3rd one so the cards and PIN numbers don't get mixed up. Seems like a waste of cards, postal letters and account numbers that they don't just allow a higher limit but maybe they judge not too many people will bother. Still trying to persuade my wife to open/switch her first account for the wine incentive...kaMelo said:No published limit and I don't remember seeing any "Virgin closed my current accounts" posts. Myself and OH have three individual accounts each and I'm sure there are others with more. We're clearly using them as savings accounts and we're happy to get 2% on £6K for zero effort, trying to open more may "poke the tiger" and mean losing them all.

I wouldn't see her having a problem, she thinks it's too much, she's already got 5 accounts but they pay nothing now but had the incentives from opening those.
I'll get her back on the wine, she might change her mind.🤔0 -
Tried to open an account on line today just for the 2% interest, but it recognises me from an account I previously had (switched out June '20) from name, email, address or whatever. Trouble is I don't have the a/c details anymore to help them to help me/find me and continue with the application. Suppose I'm going to have to phone them up to carry on.I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.0

Can't you do 'forgotten ID' and 'forgotten password'?Elmer_BeFuddled said:Tried to open an account on line today just for the 2% interest, but it recognises me from an account I previously had (switched out June '20) from name, email, address or whatever. Talk about speedy, opened second account Thursday, the debit card arrived for it this morning.Brewer20 said:
Yes thanks, it was so easy, second account now up and running now.👍poppellerant said:
I've already opened up my second current and savings accounts and it took less than 5 minutes. All I had to do was sign in, use the app to confirm it was me signing in and then most of the details were filled in from what I entered during the first application.Brewer20 said:And if applying again for the additional VM current account (I have one, opened in December) do I have go through the same process, in other words as if it's my first?
Seems the best thing to do ATM, another £1k with 2% interest, or maybe 2 additional accounts?0 -

It might be easier to setup a standing order to move the interest each month? Now I have had the switch bonus I will remove the DDs to keep the account balance static.poppellerant said:

Although the 0.5% interest on the interest will be minuscule - probably a penny a month per account.poppellerant said:I'm new to Virgin Money, but I really like the alerts that you can setup in the mobile app. If I've set them right, I should get an alert as soon as interest hits my account, so I can move it into the savings account to maximise the interest.0
