I'm new to Virgin Money, but I really like the alerts that you can setup in the mobile app.  If I've set them right, I should get an alert as soon as interest hits my account, so I can move it into the savings account to maximise the interest.
Although the 0.5% interest on the interest will be minuscule - probably a penny a month per account.

One months interest of £1.70 at 0.50% will take 430 days to yield one penny.

IIRC you can open 3 with no real fuss. More than three and you might get some light interrogation as to why you want to open another account
I've got four current accounts with them, but I'm not pushing my luck any further by trying to apply for anymore.

As they say, every penny's a prisoner. :D

And if applying again for the additional VM current account (I have one, opened in December) do I have go through the same process, in other words as if it's my first?

Seems the best thing to do ATM, another £1k with 2% interest, or maybe 2 additional accounts?
I've already opened up my second current and savings accounts and it took less than 5 minutes.  All I had to do was sign in, use the app to confirm it was me signing in and then most of the details were filled in from what I entered during the first application.
Yes thanks, it was so easy, second account now up and running now.👍
Talk about speedy, opened second account Thursday, the debit card arrived for it this morning.
Has your pin number arrived yet?

  • What do you think of the Virgin Money banking app? I've heard some mixed reviews about it from other users.

Tried to open an account on line today just for the 2% interest, but it recognises me from an account I previously had (switched out June '20) from name, email, address or whatever. Trouble is I don't have the a/c details anymore to help them to help me/find me and continue with the application. Suppose I'm going to have to phone them up to carry on.
Can't you do  'forgotten ID' and 'forgotten password'?
That's where it starts asking for A/C number and sort code.
Still haven't phoned them up yet!!
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

It's fine, works as I want it to and does what I want to do on it.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

I personally like it, apart from the fact it doesn't like my phone's keyboard for some reason.  What have you heard and we can try and see if we have the same problems or not.
