And if applying again for the additional VM current account (I have one, opened in December) do I have go through the same process, in other words as if it's my first?

Seems the best thing to do ATM, another £1k with 2% interest, or maybe 2 additional accounts?
I've already opened up my second current and savings accounts and it took less than 5 minutes.  All I had to do was sign in, use the app to confirm it was me signing in and then most of the details were filled in from what I entered during the first application.
Yes thanks, it was so easy, second account now up and running now.👍

I prefer apps now, much easier if all you want is to check balances, move money and pay bills.
I'm getting used to apps and they are handy for sure but I'm also finding out some apps are easier to use than others, oh well onwards and upwards....

I appreciate your feedback, @ryan92 - was a savings account opened for each current account you opened?
Yes, a savings account gets automatically opened with each VM current account.
Okay, so is it attached to the current account you open? Ie: could I close the savings account once the second current account is up and running?
You probably could but I believe you would have to ask Virgin to close it as there's no online facility to do so. But why wake sleeping dogs. I am not using any of my Virgin savings accounts and just let them sit there.
That's true enough, I'll just let sleeping dogs lie and see if I'm paid any interest.  Is the interest paid at the end of each month for the current and savings accounts?

The Virgin Money Current Account pays interest at 2.02% AER1 (2.00% gross2 per annum variable) on credit balances up to £1,000. Interest is calculated on a daily basis and is paid on the last business day of each month.

The Virgin Money Instant Savings account pays interest on total balances at 0.50% AER (0.50% gross per annum variable) interest on your savings. Interest is calculated on a daily basis and is paid on the last business day of each quarter

Just opened a 2nd account online. easy peasy - took less than 5 mins.
Question - When I opened my first account I missed the 31 day deadline for switching to get the Wine offer. Will I be entitled to it for this 2nd account as I didn't do it with the first? Or will they not count me as a 'new' customer?

Damn! I've only been a customer for a month and didn't take the wine offer first time. Don't suppose they will understand/sympathize though :'(

Well, they'll understand ok - that you didn't take up the offer when you could.
But yes, they probably won't sympathise.
Might be worth a try though...

Wine arrived today and just opened a 2nd individual account and deposited £1k again
So is there a published limit to the number of individual and/or joint accounts you can have?
I'm only using these for stoozed money to offset a 0% Virgin credit card :-)

No published limit and I don't remember seeing any "Virgin closed my current accounts" posts. Myself and OH have three individual accounts each and I'm sure there are others with more.  We're clearly using them as savings accounts and we're happy to get 2% on £6K for zero effort, trying to open more may "poke the tiger" and mean losing them all.
