All I'm getting when I try to withdraw my interest to my nominated non-Virgin account is this:

    "Launching live chat

We’re opening live chat in a new window. If you don’t use internet banking for 5 minutes, you’ll be automatically logged out while you chat."
Tried five times, logging out and back in. I know the amounts are trivial (£3.28) but it annoys me! In desperation I join live chat and as expected they don't know what I'm on about.
    Anyone else?
Do you get this message when trying to withdraw on the app or website? I was able to withdraw on this app this morning without issue.

Website, I don't use apps if I can avoid it. It's an age thing!

Just transferred out using the app without any problems.

PS No problem on the website either although I aborted at the final confirmation stage.

Incidentally, what do you mean by nominated non-Virgin account? Wouldn't you just make the transfer to any one of the payees you have set up?

I think that this might happen if you have your settings set so that the page text is big. I think its the way that the program is written, so that you are trying to click on what button, but the other gets in the way, if you see what I mean.

I've done all previous withdrawals to my main current account (Santander) which has always been on the Virgin website as a listed payee. I don't use the account for anything other than the interest which I've regularly withdrawn once it's credited.

I wasn't quite sure what you meant but on my laptop I went to full screen (which I seldom use except for live football) tried again and it worked. Find that weird as I've not known anything like that before. But anyway I thank you  :)

Tha app was playing up for me at various stages this morning. It took several goes before I could log in, and it then only displayed one current account, not even the associated savings account. After several more login attempts, I managed to transfer out my interest, so all's well that ends well.

FWIW, I also had trouble with my Halifax app this morning. It would simply not let me log in at first. The BoS app worked fine, as did Halifax online banking. Eventually, the Halifax app did work again, too.

These sorts of problems might have something to do with a mad rush on the first of a month?
  • Foolishly I am still trying to access my new Virgin account! Have had about 2 hours on the phone now (mainly waiting in queue) and them put into another queue for the internet banking team before being accidently passed back to the first person I spoke to again! Suggestions have included adding 10 in front of customer number, going through the Clydesdale bank web site as they say the virgin site does not work! And not using safari browser on my iPad! But as I had also tried their app without success didn't think trying Internet Explorer (which has been replaced by Edge) anyway would work. It didn't! I am amazed that some people have actually got 3 accounts to work!

If it's of any help: I access my accounts via 'uk.virginmoney.com/savings'. My log in is an old Clydesdale Bank 10-figure reference number (I once had a Yorkshire Bank credit card). My password is new, created when I opened this current account.
I have these accounts, a credit card and regular savers with Virgin and how I access the online record of each of them is different.
  • Still can't access it and no response from Virgin who said they would look into and call me back! Would I be even madder if I tried opening another one as it seems from this forum you can have more than one per person?!
