    Just a totally random thought.

What with all the game consoles etc. that have gone missing during delivery of late, has anyone had an empty wine box left on their doorstep by a slightly inebriated delivery driver? :D
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

not sure if anyone is online now but saw that its ending tonight at midnight and tempted. it says that you need to transfer 2 direct debits - normally bank switching offers are two standing orders - in this case will SO count or does it have to be dd?
Which bank switching offers are SO? I've only ever seen a requirement for direct debits as per Virgin.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

HSBC was two DDs or two SOs when I switched a year or so ago.

PS The current £125 offer is the same.

    (d) instruct us to start a full switch of a current account,
including at least two Direct Debits or Standing Orders, to your
eligible current account using the Current Account Switch
Service*1 (“CASS”) to start within 30 days of the date of your
    eligible current account being opened;

As RG2015 says above the HSBC switch did allow SOs.
But Davidnotmark is way off the mark to say "normally bank switching offers are two standing orders".
Firstly, as Colsten says above, there is no 'normal' for switching offers.
But mainly because, though there is no 'normal' the vast majority of those that do require existing regular payments ask for DDs not SOs. As regular switchers know well.
And DDs are needed for the Virgin Switch.
Which is still going strong, just 3 bottles down:

I've looked through the forum and read that people have said the timescale between finally meeting all the T&C's for the wine and receiving the email code being between a couple of days and a week. I know that Virgin says within 31 days of meeting the T&C's.

When people have had the account finished being opened on the phone due to a error message with the online application and completing the switch by completing the form sent via email, how long have you had to wait for the email code? I did ask at the time if I would get the email or do I need to phone up for the code as other people have who had the account opened by phone and was told that I would just receive an email.

The Virgin Red app is now offering 15,000 points as an alternative switching incentive. You don't have to spend your points on wine, one alternative would be 75 sausage rolls from Greggs:

How annoying. I think I'd have preferred the Sausage rolls to the wine
