Virgin Money Current Account

Just curious, what do you need that many current accounts for? Is it the 2% interest rate?tomsocr said:I'm on my sixth. Opened the last one yesterday. Yes, when do I stop?0 -
I managed three and they won't let me open more. I'd have as many as I could to put all my cash in as 2% is better than any instant access (or even regular savers and fixed term accounts)tomsocr said:

I've got four current accounts with them, but I'm not pushing my luck any further by trying to apply for anymore.dcs34 said:IIRC you can open 3 with no real fuss. More than three and you might get some light interrogation as to why you want to open another account0 -
Still waiting to hear after sending id documents via their link on the 26 November.0

I consider myself a veteran of opening / switching / closing accounts as had around 50 accounts over the last several years but Virgin have beaten us both on our efforts in opening one . Too many and varied reasons why it has been impossible, but for the first time I have had to call a halt to my applications and draw a line under it. Virgin and I will not do any more business I'm afraid.

How do you activate your Virgin Money debit card? Do you have to use the card somewhere with the PIN or can you do it from the app?0
-
I have to say that was one of the easiest accounts opening methods I have gone through. No ID needed, just a code sent home. Might take slightly longer but is definitely easier.0

No activation needed. As soon as you have both, the card and the PIN, you can start using it at payment terminals. For online purchases, you don't need a PIN but you might get asked to authenticate the purchase through the app or with a passcode. You also don't need a PIN to add the card to ApplePay / GooglePay.Lightning360 said:How do you activate your Virgin Money debit card? Somewhat disappointingly for a new-ish app, the card management features in the app are very basic.0 -
Not the only disappointing feature. I did a search on my interest received and there was no logic in the sequence in which they appeared, as shown below.colsten said:

Glad I am not using it for any other, more diverse transactions.
