Been paid for my part time job today, including my overtime, so I'm well on track for my target for January.
Can't see much that will disrupt the plans between now and Friday when I will declare my months total.

Well January has been a bit odd for me.
This week is the last week in the job I expected to last until May which means after 3rd Feb I don't know when I will next get paid. And HMRC have done something odd to my tax code which makes it look like I owe nearly as much in tax as I've earned this year and will mean my 3rd Feb pay could be very much smaller than expected.
For those reasons, money I was planning to add to January's total is being held back.

£3000 saved for January including £800 interest from a maturing saver plus other odds and sods from the end of 2019 and a £50 premium bonds win.
It would have been more but I splashed out and bought a new mattress in the sales for £1000, reduced from £2,500 with 12 months interest free too. I’ll cover that payment within the post-Christmas grocery (and belly) slim-down. It seems extravagant but I reckon you should buy the best mattress and walking boots that you can afford as they’ll last you a long time and they are murder if they are wrong.
Also had to spend 100 quid mouse-proofing (as far as one can) my garage; *!^*!¢‹* little pests!
But other than mice and mattresses, and a membership that comes out of a pre-paid ’pot’ , I had a very frugal month and only spent £324Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:
