The "Save 12k in 2020" Thread!

I was going to quit this thread already due to a big reduction in finances this month but instead of quitting, I am going to lower my goal to 5000. Only 200 saved this month but this should go up slightly as the year goes on. Any savings is better than nothing, keep pushing everyone.

Please could I reduce my target to £5000.00, I have been on sick since 2019 and now I have been reduced to next to nothing and applying for universal credit, so I think £12000.00 will be out of my reach at the moment..

Aaargh! Job has just ended with one week's notice. Was expecting it to last another 3 months. Am negotiating my next job but it will be less. I might keep back what I was going to submit until I know for certain that I have more money coming.

#34 - Payday today which means all the regular monthly savings shuffled about. £444.97 added in total to the various pots bringing January’s total so far to 560.20

laurababs and Jami74 - well done both of you for hanging in there. All of us have our challenges but reduced circumstances are so hard. Let's hope it all picks up for you.

I have a dishwasher and central heating boiler repair in train, and DH's motorcycle is at the bike hospital for some preventive surgery - all unexpected but that is why we have an emergency fund! - just as well as I had just ordered 5 tons of aggregate for a major outdoor project, and booked two separate ferry trips to the European mainland - one for him, one for us. C'est la vie!

Recently, I joined the saving challenge and I would like to update my "record".
There is a question on update form: "Please enter your 12k for 2020 number. *"
I guess this number is the same as I can see next to my nickname in the other file.

Yes, it's the number you were given when you first joined (120 in your case, Silverspeed).

You might find it helps you to remember if you add it to your signature below; I think it helps Slowlyfading update too.
