Hi,
Please could I reduce my target to £5000.00, I have been on sick since 2019 and now I have been reduced to next to nothing and applying for universal credit, so I think £12000.00 will be out of my reach at the moment..
Thanks
Westie983

Thank you for your help!
Unfortunately, I don't start my year well. Just recently I had an eye test and I ordered a shiny, hot glasses for reading. Well, I decided to go to the dentist, just make sure everything is ok.
My original monthly saving is £350. (minus glasses for reading/computer). Everything else in my budget looks good.
Good luck all, hit your target!0 -
Would I be to late to join please 5k0

Pretty pleased with this. Good start to the year.0 -
Hello everyone - well here we are again reporting the first month's savings for the new year. We've done ok in January, the major expense was paying the balance for our Canaries trip in March (can't wait!), plus some xmas costs coming in on the credit card bill. We've had an inflationary pay rise at work this month - grand sum of about £20 after tax.
In other news, I'm dropping to 4 days a week from August. Partly because I'm getting close to FIRE, and also a few health niggles in recent months have caused me to think about working less and relaxing more! My Director is retiring in April, so I had to get approval for part-time from both him and the Finance Director, nice. Anyway they agreed it after a bit of gentle persuasion. I'll leave my savings target where it is for now, and see how we get on after August when my salary falls.
Reporting £1749.19 for January, Happy saving everyone.Save 12k in 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022 - then early-retired.1 -

£300 so far. I had a £600 credit card bill to clear.
But, I took some extra shift on this month, so next payday should allow me to add the missing £250 (I am aiming for £550 a month).0 -
Declaring £686.57 for January. Could have been much better if it wasn't for the arrival of all my quarterly bills at once, last minute family events, and the credit card to pay off after Christmas.
February will likely be another lean month (savings wise) but from March onwards should be much better
