  • So 2 trips out this weekend, one grown up and one with DD. Tickets for both paid for last month, and today involved no extra spending so NSD 4/15- yeah! No exercise other than dancing last night, and routine dog walking. We have put the Christmas tree up, had some seasonal music playing while we decorated and will take that as free festive fun! Must make a list tomorrow of presents bought and start wrapping- I know I'm missing at least one gift but need to check that's the only one. Bought our donation present to hand into school to be collected by a local charity who distribute them to families in need.

Gratitudes: child benefit has arrived! only 9 more morning school runs, house is not in a total mess after the weekend!! Werewolves.

Hugs to all who need them, sending psychic lemsips to those who are ill.

So pleased with myself today is a NSD making the grand total of 2/15:D.

Thanks for the psychic lemsips f0xh0les much needed today.

Had homemade lentil and red pepper soup for lunch and now I just want to fall asleep - will work understand?:rotfl:

Booked my car in for its MOT Thursday, everything crossed, had this baby for 14 years was almost new then.

    Grateful for

DD still being in the South Island still in NZ, as she had talked about visiting that volcano in the news today on her way back up North. As she flies out Friday, depending on the flooding there.

    Good nights sleep.

Nice catch up with school friends yesterday

Foodbank/charity donation - still need to do fbank donation - have items ready - will drop off next time I'm at supermarket
Eat well - about 90% 'good' over weekend
Savings/debt repayment. All CCs paid in full and some payments made in advance of next month's bills. Savings made by stos/ ddrs/ salary deduction. Some extra paid to BTL mtge - will see if I can manage any more. Small bits being added to hol fund
Treat yourself - Make sure you take time for yourself during December. Relax and read a book, have a bubble bath, light some candles, etc. - still watching old episodes of 'House'
Invitations - Accept a maximum of 2 invitations during December. - Had 2 outings - both were kindly paid for by others :)
Very merry Christmas - Don't get sucked into all the consumerism that surrounds Christmas, should be fine
Exercise - At this time of year, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to get out the house and exercise. Aim for at least 10 minutes outside, even just a short walk around the block. - really need to do this bit.....

Fun - Think of fun things to do during December, preferably free. - cathedral service, Xmas carol service , decorating the trees and rooms with the kids, some cheesy Xmas films and the escape rooms (family outing instead of panto. Plan some walks up the common too)
Understand what motivates you - Think about what you want to achieve next year and why. How will you achieve your goals? - need to give goals and plans some thought during the month. Florida being all paid for before we go is a definite. A good reduction on BTL another, increased pension contributions (want us both retired in 10 years) Oh - and we've vaguely planned a renovation project for 2 parts of the house - likely cost c £7-10K:eek:
    NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. - 2/15 -
I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul
    Repaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NIL
    Net sales 2024: £20

Foodbank/charity donation - waiting for the second DD to go through, Crisis donation done.
Eat well - pretty good today. Also did my online food shop for tomorrow.
    Savings/debt repayment - done.
Treat yourself - still feeling rubbish and hardly got any sleep last night as a result, so took the day off sick.
Invitations - got an offer of a ticket to a horse show in London that I wanted to go to. I was very naughty and accepted. I figured I've covered so much at work over the last few weeks that I deserve it.
Very merry Christmas - nothing today.
Exercise - did feel a little bit better today so I did a little workout at home with some resistance bands. Feel worse now so should've left it!

    Fun - nothing really today.
Understand what motivates you - already done. Made contact with an organisation I want to volunteer for. Just need to organise the logistics.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. Up to 6/15.

Sending more psychic lemsips to everyone who needs one (myself included!).
  • I definitely have a uti on top of whatever other stuff is going on. Went into work but regretted it by 10am. Never mind.
Tomorrow is my last ever primary school celebration as ds is Year 6. I intend to go and cry my way through it thinking about my babies all grown up and all the times I took it for granted - going to see them do stuff at school.
Not a nsd as I caved in to having a bacon sarnie at work because I just felt so poo by lunchtime.
    Early night tonight.

Today I am grateful for a clear crisp day, for being able to walk around, for a snuggly warm house, for the prospect of a tip/recyc centre run tomorrow, for my after-wk meeting being postponed, for dd having more bounce, for tech.

One job delegated - took pots to mum's cousin who is going to do the cemetery run. Good chat, offloaded some of my frustration.

Milk and bread bought for mum then a taxi there (mum pays taxi fares for these visits). Told mum it was too cold to work out side and that I would work on lavender planting in spring when the new small plants come in. I cut back her lavender last week and planted quite a lot of offshoots from the plant but brought the cut lavender inside to decorate the house - mum decided I could magic the cut lavender into many more plants and put a hedge along the front path and another along the 6m long edging fence that Mr Builder put in last week.

I told her I intended to concentrate on sorting out the cupboards then the cleaner could clean the front room thoroughly and we would then be ready to put the tree up. Mum had told the cleaner to leave the front room as we were going to move things round, then told her not to clean the front room as more things needed moving.

So lots gone through, pills sorted, one cupboard for photos (from 4 different locations), one cupboard for toys (I still need to go through the ones in the shed), one cupboard for recipes (mum still has to go through some loose recipes but they are in wallet files so she can just take out one at a time and go through a few), candle drawer, toiletries (hand cream and maincure type stuff) drawer, one empty drawer, three empty drawers in the drawers that have been moved into the bedroom. Lots thrown away - mail order catalogues, diaries, calendars, and trip brochures for this year, old make up.

I've brought one electrical item to take to the charity shop, 2 pairs of nail scissors for DS3, a kilt pin and a few items have new homes and the curtain rings need to go in mum's snowman biscuit jar (he's on top of the kitchen cupboards and by that time I didn't feel up to climbing up the step ladders).

I made baked potatoes for tea and have been trying to stay awake and stop yawning ever since.

Today I am grateful for getting things done, for mum being much readier to let things go and for being warm.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
