NSD 7/15 today, went riding instead of shopping, so nicely MSE, has meant that as well as not spending money I'm using up food supplies from the freezer. Freezer is still very full, but the fridge is quite empty-DD needs fed tomorrow night then she's away til Sunday so I'll cope with random use up meals until the weekend- will have to buy milk tomorrow but I'll see if I can stretch everything else. Exercise was had- was pretty chilly but racing round stubble fields certainly gets you warmed up. Had my Christmas candles lit again tonight, and a friend has given me a hand crafted decoration so I'm feeling much more festive! Have also started wrapping parcels, so there be much excitement in the morning when DD discovers there are now parcels under the tree.0

Went to the doctor's surgery to get mum's pills sorted (delivery yesterday but two things that were needed were not included). Lovely doctor is off sick so pill review can wait until January - one lot of pills is out of sync by two weeks, if it can be brought back in line it might avoid this happening (I spent some time with the calendar trying to work out the likelyhood of the pharmacy bringing the missing tablets next week - might just have enough until then.)
Got off in the town centre and went to find the post box in the shopping centre. Tried to get money for mum from the cash machine but first it said it could only give me £90 and then said it couldn't do it at all (it was very slow, I don't think the little elf was pedalling fast enough). Did intend to get shopping but felt so confused I decided to go home. Spent so long at the traffic lights I forgot to stop at the other cash point and was too cold and wet to go out again.
I have been ticking off little tasks. DS 2 came round and asked if grandma had sent any Christmas money, so gave him the card and money, sent him into the cupboard to fing the bag of presents from me and let him have first pick of the chocolate tubs from mum.
Left a message on DS1's phone and he messaged me back. We are going to try and meet up before Christmas but he asked me to send his and his wife's Christmas money via my bank. Pleased about that because one of the things that was upsetting me on Sunday was not getting to do the things that were most important to me.
DS3 asked if he and Beloved could borrow money as there was a film they wanted to watch and there's only one day of screening and they'd just discovered it's tomorrow. Told him it was his Christmas money from grandma (I used her money to buy some of his clothes but I had intended to pay for them - and he's still not got everything I put on the list 3 years ago). Also asked Beloved which she preferred of the two tubs left so now know who's having what.
Have been relaxing but doing a little bit at the kitchen every now and then. Just got to get through tomorrow and then have a 3 day weekend to knock the house into shape, throw some tinsel and baubles round and sort out food deliveries.
Today I an grateful for having enough sense to come home and lie down, for a hot meal and for hearing from my boys.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

facethemusic where do you ride? I have a share horse and it's always tricky at this time of year with the mud and the cold! Still nice to get out though.
Foodbank/charity donation - waiting for the second DD to go through, Crisis donation done.
Eat well - better yesterday, have decided to start tracking my food again on myfitnesspal to keep an eye on myself!
Savings/debt repayment - done.
Treat yourself - nothing yesterday, still feeling rough. I start the day okay and then just gradually feel worse so by the time I get home I just want to sleep. Pulled out our sofa bed after dinner last night and fell asleep watching TV.
Invitations - no further invitations.
Very merry Christmas - decorated my desk at work yesterday with some tinsel.
Exercise - nothing yesterday, cancelled my gym class as was feeling ill again, and have cancelled this morning's class too. I really beat myself up over this but need to give myself time to get rid of whatever this bug is.
Fun - nothing for the last few days whatsoever! Although did find out I passed my Masters which is great! Not as excited as I should be as already had a celebration when I submitted it and I really didn't enjoy the second year so it was more of a relief than joy to read the results.
Understand what motivates you.
NSDs - Aim for 15 NSDs. Up to 7/15. I had a physio appointment for my back yesterday, but am counting it as a health spend. I can also claim half the cost back through my health cash plan.0 -
Congratulations on passing your Masters lcc66 :T0

I hope it's just my body trying to recover from all the bugs. I'm not really in pain but I am very slow and nothing seems to be working - walked downstairs sidewards, one foot then the other, holding the rail with both hands.
Have written mum's cards this afternoon. She supposedly did them all earlier in the year when her hands were working but only did her partner's family (lots of them) and not our friends and relations.
It was a lot more complicated than it sounds (or should be). Some had to have envelopes left open for money or letters to be added, some people were having biscuits or chocolates, some people weren't on the list then there were some to be posted, some people will call at mum's, my poor niece has cards/ presents to take for herself, her sister, my brother, her mother and her partner (my brother's been divorced for nearly 30 years and his ex is remarried to someone in jail in the USA) and possibly for mum's lodger and his daughter (who now has a partner and a baby of her own).
I went to post the neighbour's cards through their doors several times but the rain stopped me.
Dear Mothernerd,
I know you are a carer for your mother, but please take care of yourself and say 'no' occassionally. You are very tired already (the bugs may be a way of your body to tell you to slow down), was there really a need to get those neighbours' cards out in between the rain? It's still a couple of weeks before christmas, there was no need to deliver them exactly yesterday. Your mother may be pushing you, as it gives her ease of mind, but as far as I read it, it does you harm.
