Quick post.
Friday ended up getting milk and fruit on the way home from work. NSD looking very sad.
Saturday, wasnt feeling great, grandkids stayed in at mine most of the day. Went out with friend to xmas market, fun band on but few hours hanging around in cold wasn't good. Result awake all night Saturday, chest crackling noise? Drank lots of hot lemon, ginger and honey today.
Off to the chemists now and meeting friends for a cake? Which to be honest prefer to go straight home and have some soup. Cleaned office in work and popped to Peacocks 50% off bags today, another xmas pressie done. Spendy again will it ever stop.
Grateful for
Lemon and ginger tea,
Honey

NSD 2 today!
Need some bits of grocery shopping tomorrow but then I can concentrate on not spending for a while.
Still have not done any C-word shopping.
Naughty naughty dh will not give me a budget to work to for his present. We (by we, I mean I) usually set a £15 budget and stick to it, adding m-o-c and points and vouchers. This year dh will not tell me how much he is spending, he just giggles and says 'not telling' which is infuriating. Annoying man.
Tomorrow is child benefit day so I have funds, just no idea what they want to receive.
If you are organising a running away trip mothernerd, can I reserve a seat? I found myself outside a travel agents yesterday looking at the offers in the window, thinking 'oooh. I could you know..... ', but I would only come back to the same situation. So I might as well just get on with changing it, Solve the problems then do the holiday.
Hugs to all who need them, immoral support to all others.

Treat yourself - went horse riding this morning, definitely got rid of the cobwebs! That's my treat. Also fell asleep on the sofa for thirty minutes this afternoon which was a welcome treat after a day in the cold.
Invitations - not accepted any more.
Very merry Christmas - OH didn't check the fuse on the lights...
Exercise - had a good ride today and then spent the rest of the day at RDA scooping up mess and leading horses around.

Good evening!
What a weekend! Used up one of my allotted invitations yesterday and attended a party. I hardly ever drink... but given the right mix of people and free alcohol... and it turned into an all-nighter and ended up clubbing 60 miles away!!! Needless to say yesterday was not a NSD :rotfl: but I did have FUN which is on the hit list... haven't laughed so much in a long time!!!
Today have been a little worse for wear. Also not a NSD as had to venture out for supplies to nurse me back to health. No unhealthy binges which I'm pleased about... fruit, salad, fish, fluids and bread... keeping it clean. No gym session today but I'm counting all the dancing I did last night as exercise haha!!!
Now going to sit down and work out the damage, and adjust totals accordingly!!!
Have a good evening folks...⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Had a good day out today. We thought we were going to soaked to the skin as the rain was at monsoon level just before we left home but it turned out ok. Bought a couple of things in the charity shops including a Famous Five book I've been looking for for a while, it was my favourite as a kid. Bought some things in the market for lunch which supports independent retailers and also stocked up on rice, lentils, oats, sunflower seeds and laundry detergent in the zero waste shop.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Feeling a bit better. Went for a meander round town, Checked the bank, bought bits for mum's present and did a couple of errands (posted a card and mum's postal vote), sat by the cenotaphe and rounded up two wreaths that had been blown across the square and returned them to their rightful place.
Bank was better than expected (have been using cash in the house as much as possible and letting the bank balance go up slowly) but want it to keep going up (if the ceiling collapses then it would make sense to introduce at least part of the new kitchen - may want ceiling lowered and new lighting).
Decided it would be foolish to bring more things into the house when I'm still tryig to reduce so back to the house for a rethink. First of all I cleared and cleaned one of my new small cube units (2 x 2) and put a wrdrobe door on top to make a narrow worktop (it's running to under the stairs and I still want access). This was to make a 'gadgetry' - any gadgets that are used regularly should be on there rather then on the worktop (once the thing growing in the rice cooler has been evicted).
Then I decided I should decide what I wanted and work on that. The 2 x 2 cubes were supposed to be so that I could have my large farmhouse table in use again (one of the legs is broken and it's a complicated repair - I used to take the boys bunks apart and put them back together on a regular basis by drilling out the holes and putting in new dowels but have had several unsuccessful goes at this). So I'm going to use them for that (no gadgetry - aww).
I have also finally put together the second ikea trolley (one's been in use as a bedside table for many months). This is going to be my mobile work station. I'm going to have my utensils, can opener and kitchen knives, my pans on the bottom layer and any other 'essentials' and possibly my chopping board on top (when it's been cleaned - was going to sand it down but someone put it by the sink and it keeps being used as a holding station for stuff waiting to go in the dishwasher and is covered in rings from the bottom of pans).
So that's my kitchen plan - table supported by cube shelves, trolley with my stuff and then hide anything that's making the place look untidy. I told DS3 I was reaching the end of my tether but he thinks I should discuss things with Beloved (my specific complaint was about the small sofa in the front room where I should be able to sit but it's piled up to nearly shouder height with towels, bedding etc). I did point out 2 of his coats which have been there since convention - he doesn't think 4 weeks is a long time for a coat to be left on a couch. Definitely leaving the front room until next week. I have to clear the floor, move two couches, shift all the stuff off the couches (think we'll be back to the passive aggressive labelled bags for life dumped in their room whenever I get the chance), get to the window, clean it (there will be long lie downs between some of these stages), decorate it (lights, seeds, ivy?) and then put the furniture back (in a better way if I can think of one).
For today I am grateful for hot pasties and gingerbread Chris mouse trees, for putting the trolley together and for thinking out some no spend solutions. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Well I am going to be the miserable so and so again. I'm definitely poorly - I don't know if it's pre-menopausal symptoms, some sort of lurgy or both, but I have been 'off colour' for days now. I dragged my butt out of bed to go tutoring, only to get a puncture on the way there - meaning I had to cancel that (losing my £) and then also needing 2 new tyres when I got to the garage, which cost me £172. Gutted, but I had enough in my 'emergency fund' - which now has £3 in it
Went to my mam's for a catch up but ended up leaving early as I was feeling so unwell - napped all afternoon on the sofa and not feeling any better (in fact I think I'm worse than yesterday). Just about to head off to bed now and sleep some more in the hope I can make it to work tomorrow. Not giving up
