Right I have decided to aim for a £100 overpayment on my Laptop before the end of Jan.

Which means I am going to cut back on my spending and not buy anything that I don't need. Which means I will be in the kitchen tonight making myself lunch for tomorrow!

Just spoken to OH who is worried that he doesn't have enough money for his car tax, can't find his insurance certificate and had a right stress on (why is that my problem?) So it looks like someone else who needs to cut back! Still he get's paid on friday.

I have to post 3 Amazon sales on my way home and then I am going to have an early night and not spend anything else! Hopefully it will be a NSD tomorrow.

I keep meaning to say I have some congnative behaviour course notes if any would like them emailing to them.

I set this thread up as a little support group, but I just wanted to ask if anyone minds if I continue to use it as a bit of a dairy to?

If anyone does I will set up another thread.

    Thanks x

Anyway I have just checked my internet banking account and I am £9.98 OD  I have a £500 transfer waiting to be paid in. But does this look managed:

    -9.98 + £500 = £490.01

Out of this £490.01 needs to come:

    £207.50 - Rent
    £15.18 - Laptop payment (min)
    £25.00 - phone bill
    £12.49 - internet
    £9.90 - RAC Cover
    £60.00 - petrol
    £60.00 - 'spends'

    = £390.07

    Leaving = £99.94

Which would mean I could make an over payment on my Laptop this month. I have £35 in my purse (I managed to go out and not spend anything on NYE!) And I intend to make this last as long as I can. OH and I have decided to no have any meals out/take aways until Feb (and then only once a month) to save money and help me (us) lose some weight.

But does the above seem reasonable? I'm paid on the 20th? I can't see myself spending any more that £95 in 18 days? I mean I don't need anything!

    Wish me luck x

Good luck with your pay £100 challenge, no problem with you using this as a diary I find writing it down helps rather than all the "in my head" calculations. Its useful to know that I am the only one trying to budget all the time.

I decided to move it as when I first posted the thread it was to find support from/for other suffering to. Which I think it should be, I will still be here as I think it's really important to share things with others.

As for budgeting all the time, I really struggle to stick to budgets so have to revision them every so often!

    Morning Everyone!

I hope we are all feeling ok today. I think my cold is coming back as I feel really under the weather today.

But I have realised I have no New Year energy, I feel a little deflated, but I guess that should be normal considering OH and I had our arguement and were up until about 5am New Year's Day. I am struggling at work again and have to motivation which isn't good as I have loads to do and i know I should not visit here when I have this much to do, but I swear I only get through the day because of this site!!

I am also really tried, I seem to be sleeping, but waking up as tired as I went to sleep  I might try and have a really early night tonight.

    xx

  • Sorry your feeling low today.

No energy is a pain. I feel ok this morning for the first time in a while I didnt wake / wasnt woken up in the night (expect by the darn cat at 7). I used to be able to go straight back to sleep but now Ill stay awake for 1-2 hours thinking about stupid stuff I cant do anything about. Then like you feel groggy in the morning.

An early night sounds like a good idea just after a nice relaxing bath.

I think I will be doing that. I sleep ok, I just wake up tried.

I have my slimming class at 5.30 tonight and then I will head home for dinner a bath and bed, I don't care how early it is.

I think one of my real problems when I feel like this is that fact that things become so overwhelming. Which is probably why things don't get done as I don't know where to start!

Glad you had a good nights sleep, cat's are great for that aren't they? Ours normally ends up in the kitchen!

    Hi.

As many of you will know I am currently suffering from Stress and Depression (I don't do things by halfs!) And I have notice the seemingly large number of other DFW's who have/are suffering. Personally I need a support network and you guys are really important.

While I was chatting to my Dr he mentioned that people with depression/stress tend to eat more and spend more to cheer themselves up. Obviously this is not good especially when you are already in debt.

I was wondering if anyone wanted to join my little support group, I want to try and beat my debt, while realising that I have other problems in my life that need addressing. Suffering for depression effects everything in my life, even though I know sometimes I shouldn't eat/spend that I need to anyway. I thought that it might be helpful for some of the people here to share experiences and advice on how to get through this and deal with the panic when it starts.

I was given a link to the royal college of psycology which was helpful - http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/mentalhealthinformation.aspx

I currently have over £14,000 of debt which needs to be reduced, now I know all the basic's ebay/Amazon until there is nothing left, but a lot of the time I suffer from lack of motivation and really can't be bothered.

I guess I just need some people to hold my hand through this and hopefully it will be of some use to other people. I know that when we are depressed we feel extra vunerable and alone. I know I'm not, but still hand holding would be appreciated!

    Thanks x
