Bless you.
It doesn't have to be that way. Maybe spend some time on here tonight, you can stay at home, but enjoy chatting to people like you normally would. You can get through this and maybe make it a good time for you.

hi bathgate,
call them friends?
You should let them know just how they made you feel, they obviously have little or no consideration of your feelings at all!
Look at joining an local online community, my sister moved to Newcastle and joined friends north east, she has met some great people through that site!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
I think that's a very good idea, I know that I have met some lovely people here and it never hurts to get to know a few more people.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0

bathgatebuyer thats so horrible. You obviously have your coping mechanism but try spending some time on here tonight. I might although after having 3 kids I dont get excited about new year and am usually asleep by midnight!
Im more looking forward to trying to keep control of my debts and get to grips more with my job next year. Its a great job but demanding and as the other posts have said motivation can be hard to find.
Most important I want to feel as happy as I can whether everything I want is in place or not.
See feeling a bit happier now I got dressed and washed up although it did take longer than planned!!:j0 -
no one should ever feel that lonely at anytime please feel free to pm me if you need to talk.
I faced up to my deby yesterday and today I went to doctors and finally admitted I am depressed and have been for 3 years (the amont of time i took to clock up the debt) I know if I do not sort out what is wrong with me I can never fix the debt - it is a vicious circle but one I am determined to crack. But for the record I hate new years eve it is overated and boring bring on new years day when everything is fresh and new and anything is possible.0 -
I'm fine about it - I've tried the whole getting to know people thing and I just don't have the patience or energy to do it anymore. I'm content in my own company and that's not something I used to be before. Hogmanay is just a time of year it reminds me of my lowest point in life and given where I live, I really can't escape it. Still, at least when I wake up tomorrow I'll be able to stick the Jose Mourinho 2008 calendar up on the wall
:heart2: I'm going to end up like Shirley Valetine talking to my Jose on that kitchen wall!!!
Anyhoo, it's only a few days to put up with. Ironically, Xmas I really like, but Hogmanay I could gladly wipe from the calendar and never EVER face again.
If someone can name a part of the world which doesn't celebrate New Year, then I'm open to suggestions!!!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Nothing wrong with talking to Jose... I talk to the cat!
Try to have a good evening what ever you decide to do, but remember that there are people here who are willing to listen if you need to chat

I've found that you get to know the most interesting people when you're not trying.bathgatebuyer wrote: »Still, at least when I wake up tomorrow I'll be able to stick the Jose Mourinho 2008 calendar up on the wall:heart2:
 Whatever floats your boat - I used to think I'd had a hard paper round..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

How does this sound. A friend lives in America and we always do christmas presents, this year I left it late, missed the postage and sort of ran out of money. But I still have £10 from my Xmas money left and I know she like Urban Decay makeup (normally expensive) but if you go through quidco you get cash back and one of the sites is selling it at about £2.50 per item (saving about £9 per item) So I was thinking 4 items = £10 and a big bar of UK chocolate (apparently the US stuff is awful) would = christmas present and not to heavy for postage.
Does that sound ok? A nice present and I would save money and earn cash back?Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
