sounds fantastic Lucy.
I feel for you bathgatebuyer. I spent a couple of horrible New Years about 5 or 6 years ago. Both in my local pub. My ex was horrible to me and went home early both years and I sat in the corner on my own crying through Big Ben one year and the next in the toilet sobbing about 15 minutes into the new year.
It was compounded rather when I went home and he had deadlocked the door so I couldn't get in (the joys of being with a heavy drinker). I went around to the back door and knocked on the glass..........how likely was it that the glass chose that exact moment to shatter into huge shards???????????????? We decided to take the opportunity replace the door and the guy who did it said the glass was from the 1970s and was prone to breaking suddenly as it had lots of bubbles in it !!!"Stay Wonky":D

Keren sounds like you are better off without him.
New Year has always been a bit indifferent to me, neither really good or really bad. Last Year I had to deal with my Best friends brother girlfriend (are you with me) having a reallt bad panic attack. We couldn't get her to stand she kept being sick. Of course you can't dial 999 after midnight as the mobile networks were clogged with 'happy new year' messages!! I had to run back to the pub and use there phone.
Hopefully tonight will be less eventful!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

And you too, Lucy.
P.S. ZTD - my new year would be so much more fun if that man's paper round came past my way!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Hugs Bathgate Buyer and everyone else. Happy new year! I went for the avoid everything NY option (can't be bothered heading out into the cold only to spend a fortune/drink/carry someone else home who has drunk too much/ walk for miles home!!) and planned to bring in the bells asleep... silly me... fireworks for ages = no sleep... Happy New Year Everyone.
Well I had one of those nights in the end. Spent with OH's friends and felt pretty much abandoned for the whole evening = bit of an arguement on the way/at home. Needless to say he had been drinking, didn't even wish me a happy new year and left me on my own in a room full of people I didn't know. Nice.
But we eventually sorted it out. I had a winge about how selfish he can be, everything comes second to rugby etc. I mean he has put 'us' down for England international tickets (costing £68!) without even asking me, because he wants to go!!! :mad: Once I pointed out that I might not be able to afford this he has actually agreed to pay for half 'our' hotel room for my cousins 21st! And we are not sure if we are going to get the tickets.
But he has promised to try and change and think a bit more before he does things. So we shall see. But I have been sticking to my diet and went for a 2 1/2 hr walk yesterday which I am sure is very healthy!
So all in all a mixed new year.
I hope everyone else is ok, I just can't wait until I can go home and have an early night!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

I set this thread up as a little support group, but I just wanted to ask if anyone minds if I continue to use it as a bit of a dairy to?
If anyone does I will set up another thread.
Thanks x
Anyway I have just checked my internet banking account and I am £9.98 OD :mad: I have a £500 transfer waiting to be paid in. But does this look managed:
-9.98 + £500 = £490.01
Out of this £490.01 needs to come:
£207.50 - Rent
£15.18 - Laptop payment (min)
£25.00 - phone bill
£12.49 - internet
£9.90 - RAC Cover
£60.00 - petrol
£60.00 - 'spends'
= £390.07
Leaving = £99.94
Which would mean I could make an over payment on my Laptop this month. I have £35 in my purse (I managed to go out and not spend anything on NYE!) And I intend to make this last as long as I can. OH and I have decided to no have any meals out/take aways until Feb (and then only once a month) to save money and help me (us) lose some weight.
But does the above seem reasonable? I'm paid on the 20th? I can't see myself spending any more that £95 in 18 days? I mean I don't need anything!
Wish me luck xCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I actually think I may have over estimated my 'spends' budget as I can't see how I will spend £95 in 18 days..... That might mean I can over pay my laptop by £100 if I am really careful and cut my spends down...
Theres a challenge!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
