  • Good evening everyone 🙂

I need to find £200.00 for Help To Buy, as I used the scheme when I bought the flat, and they charge you when you sell your property for all the admin they have to do (which isn’t a lot 😂). I also need to find extra money for a surveyor, as HTB make you get your property valued. Someone has quoted me £270.00 but I’m going to ask others first.

I spent £23.22 in Tesco tonight which should see me through until at least the weekend. When I arrived there were some chavvy teenagers shouting at the poor security guard and being idiots. I love where I live! So delightful...

The girls were at their dad’s today but I spoke to them on the phone after work and neither of them were bothered that they weren’t going to school. I thought they’d be a bit upset but they were very happy! So that’s good 😊

I’m going to try and get into the habit of using my mum & dad’s treadmill again. I don’t want to sink into a lockdown depressive state, especially as I’m still dealing with the break up (I don’t miss him but toxic relationships are harder to get over apparently), and I know exercise has always helped me in the past x
  • Great outlook to have! I am lucky I have been wfh since March and have been able to lose 50lbs and exercising has helped massively. I’ve been for a jog around the park the last 2 days but my blinking freaking hell it’s cold out there! I also love walking videos, there’s a tonne free on YouTube which I enjoy. • It’s Friday night and I’m finally sitting down for a well-deserved rest! The last 2 days have been challenging to say the least...juggling working with homeschooling and ohhhh myyyy goddddd 🤯🤯🤯 It was STRESSFUL 😂 haha. Luckily my managers have agreed for me to drop my hours on the days that I have the girls to allow me to do the home schooling, so from now on it should be much better 🙂 although of course it does mean that I need to work longer hours on the other days.

I spoke to a mortgage broker today and so I now know how much I can borrow (although my tax credits still haven’t updated so I could borrow more possibly). I saw the over budget house the other day & it was lovely, but I definitely can’t afford it now, so I’m viewing another house tomorrow. It’s a 3-bed semi-detached again but it needs a fair bit of work so I’m not sure 😬 Not easy this house-buying malarkey 😂

Yesterday was a sad day. I was informed that my ex boss, who was my boss for 11 years, passed away some time before Christmas. I cried so hard when I heard the news 😢 I wouldn’t have the career I have without him. He was like a 2nd dad to me. From the age of 19 to 30 he was my line manager and although at times he thought I was a gobby mare (I was 😉) he always stuck up for me. 3 years ago he didn’t turn up for work because he had a really bad stroke that left him hospitalised for around 6-8 months & I never saw him again 😢 It’s so heartbreaking.

We need to make the most of this life we have! My boss worked so hard until that stroke, and he never got to enjoy all the money he earned. His retirement was spent being so ill, and it’s such a shame 😔💔

The girls are at their dad’s house now until tomorrow night so I’m going to relax as much as possible! 💆🏼‍♀️💆🏼‍♀️💆🏼‍♀️
  • It’s Saturday night and I’m on the sofa in my fluffy dressing gown watching The Voice - very rock & roll here! The girls have just gone to bed and I’m shortly going to put my fresh clean bed sheets on my bed so I can jump in & go to sleep. I’m knackered!

2 of DD2’s old tops sold on eBay so I packed them up and walked to the Post Office to send them. I’ve transferred the cost of the postage from my PayPal account to my bank account as I like seeing it matched off 😂 Once the eBay fees have been taken at the end of the month I will transfer the rest of the money and adjust my spreadsheet so it’s put towards stuff for the kids 😊 I then walked from the Post Office to Aldi to get some bread & milk etc and then I walked to the 3-bed semi-detached house to view it. I am really unsure whether to buy it or not. The potential is great but it needs so much doing to it! 😩

After the viewing I walked the 1.5 miles home with my super heavy shopping bag (I should’ve gone to Aldi on my way back instead! D’oh). By the time I got home my hands were frozen and in pain 😂 it took me a good 2 hours to thaw out! ⛄️
  • I decided to make a cheeky offer on the house I saw yesterday. It got declined, which I wasn’t surprised at, but due to the amount of work that needs doing to it I decided against making another offer. That was my limit 🙂 I’m viewing another house on Wednesday. It’s only a 2-bed however it’s absolutely HUGE lol so we will see how that one goes!

I’ve had a semi-productive day 😁 I got the girls’ bedding all washed, cleaned the bathroom, and dusted & vacuumed both bedrooms. I also did a shop at Tesco & got some bits that I didn’t get in Aldi yesterday. When we got home I made us a delicious dinner (pasta bolognese) and I have leftovers for tomorrow 😀😀

I’m child-free tonight & very soon I have a Zoom date with 3 close friends 😍 I’m very excited lol. I’m then going to remove my make-up, put on a new face mask that I got for Christmas, get my pyjamas on and then get into bed ☺️ Have a good evening all! x
  • Hello all 🙂 I hope you’re all doing ok during the most miserable month everrrrr...

As well as doing 9 hours of work I have also managed to catch up on my washing, fill out a form for tax credits that they randomly sent me, order the kids’ dad’s birthday present, order 2 pairs of leggings for the girls as all of theirs now have at least one hole in them (😂), cancel my dental appointment on Thursday as I’m not going to be able to afford a brace now anyway, and pay this month’s service charge invoice.

The dental appointment cancellation means I will get my consultation refunded, so £25.00 will be hitting my account soon 😃

Tonight I need to plan tomorrow’s school day and order some gifts for my friend & her new baby boy who will be arriving at some point soon 😍 She wants size 2 nappies and some toys for her baby, so I’ll get them plus some bits for her as she has gone through a tough time mentally with this pregnancy so she deserves a pampering 😊 Also she’s been really good to me since me and my ex broke up in October and I want to show her I appreciate it 😊
  • Good afternoon! I’m having a short rest before I go back to work (ie my dining table)...it’s been about 30 hours of working and home schooling here (with a bit of sleep in between), and I’m drained 😂 Honestly it’s so so difficult, even with the change in hours. I may need to tweak it a bit but I’ll have a think first.

I have also managed to get a few jobs done, such as catching up on my washing, food shopping, going to the Post Office and collecting my Next order (the leggings and the birthday present).

Tonight I’m viewing the “huge” 2-bed house I mentioned lol so I will let you know how that goes!
  • Hey everyone!

The house was lovely 🙂 I went to see it again today for a 2nd viewing. I took my mum with me and we both noticed a house 2-3 doors away was also up for sale. I had a look on Rightmove and it’s been on the market for quite a while and it’s £20K cheaper! The room sizes & layout is exactly the same. Not 100% on the condition, but I’m going to call the estate agent tomorrow and ask if I can view it. I’d be stupid not to.  I have no idea how I didn’t spot it on Rightmove earlier 😂🙈 The house I saw today needs a new boiler (the current one works but it’s almost as old as me), new windows, a new garage roof & decorating throughout so it’s not exactly in immaculate condition. It’s going to cost a fair bit to put right. I still love it though!

I had to transfer £750.00 back into my current account from my savings yesterday 😭 I needed to pay £360.00 to the managing agents for the management pack, plus I’ve got to pay £200.00 to Help To Buy & another £200.00 ish to a surveyor. So savings is now £3,600.00 but I’m due to put £1,000.00 in it on pay day 😊

Not much else to report really. I’m currently working even though it’s Sunday - it’ll make my life easier next week if I do it now. I went to Aldi earlier to do some food shopping - I got to the till & realised I had left my debit card at home! D’oh! So I had to quickly drive home & get it, and then drive back again 😂 Blondey I am!

DD2 had an eye test yesterday. Her eyes haven’t change so she’s not going back for another year, unless she needs new glasses before then. I am contemplating getting myself some contact lenses. Glasses bug me, especially since wearing PPE masks!

My washing has just finished so will get the wet clothes on the airer, and then it’s back to work 😭 lol x

Sounds like the house viewing is going well then and definitely a good idea to see the cheaper one as well.

  • I agree great idea to see cheaper one because if that needs similiar work doing to it then makes sense to go for that option.
