  • Good morning! 😊

Pub night last night was really good 😀 The meal was nice, and I treated myself to a small glass of wine. My 3 friends all had a dessert but I resisted 😇 mainly because I was too full 🐷😂 One of my friends owes me about £10 as I ordered her food on the app for her. I think it’s daft that the waitresses won’t come and take your order when they still serve your food, drinks, and take your plates away 🤔 Common sense seems to have been lost!

My estate agent called me yesterday to say that my buyer’s solicitors have sent their mortgage lender a draft copy of an indemnity insurance policy to see if they’ll accept it. I was told that we wouldn’t get an update for about a week. I’m still trying to find a surveyor just in case but so far I haven’t found anyone.

It’s just over a week to go until pay day and despite it being a very expensive month, my bank account is looking healthy. I will transfer £250.00 into savings after the weekend I think!

Today I’m in the office until 3pm, and then I’m off to get my nails done. After that I have no plans for the first time in weeks! The girls will be at their dad’s, so I will do a bit of work (the workload is ridiculous at the moment) and then chill. I’m not sleeping well at the moment so I should probably get an early night. Especially as this weekend is going to be busy!!

Have a good day everyone! ❤️

Hi PB, just a thought, but is it worth asking the estate agents if they can recommend any surveyors? They often have 'in house' surveyors themselves who may be able to help (probably for a fee!).
    Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16
    Mortgage OP’s: £20,691.73
    Remaining 10% OP allowance 2025: £1327.55
  • Hey MendO... I did ask my EA if they could recommend anyone but they couldn’t. In fact they said a surveyor wouldn’t know a lot of the answers anyway. Only the developers would know but they’ve gone AWOL 🤯 It’s all good fun isn’t it 😂

I love my job as you all know but this week has been really hard. I’m going to speak to my manager this morning about it as it’s keeping me awake at night. She’s incredibly supportive and sometimes I just need to go through my (massive) to-do list with her and prioritise as best as I can. I was working until 9pm last night. Bearing in mind I started at 7:45am! I did have my nails done in the meantime though ☺️

Speaking of which - I can’t wait until my usual nail technician returns to work. Yesterday I had someone new do my nails and I know this sounds horrible, but she was awful. She was really rough and it was so painful! Then she kept moaning at me because my thumbs were too tense & she couldn’t bend them - I wanted to say “of course they’re tense... they’re petrified of what you’re going to do to them!!” Not only that but I don’t think my nails look nice. £34 for the privilege 😩 Definitely won’t be going to her again.

Aswell as work, I need to go and collect DD1’s birthday cake today 😊 I also need to return some things to ASOS that I ordered. Tonight the girls are back with me but I’ll probably be working until late 🙄 I’m not going to have time to work tomorrow or Sunday luckily, as I have lots of fun plans! 😀😀😀

Right, I’m off to get dressed & get ready for another long day 🙃 Have a good weekend everyone! 💜

  • Hello!!!!!!

I'm so sorry for the absence!!!! I hope you are all doing well? Thank you MeandO for checking in - I have indeed been busy! I hope you’re ok? I’ll catch up on your diary very shortly 😊

I’ll start with the flat selling/house buying update. Basically, Barclays (the buyers’ mortgage lender) never got back to them to let them know if they would accept the indemnity insurance policy. The buyers also needed an extension on their mortgage offer, and again, Barclays just never responded. 3 weeks ago I got a call from the Estate Agent to say the buyers have decided to pull out of buying my flat as the delay had allowed them to save a bigger deposit, and so they wanted to buy a house instead. To say it stung is an understatement… the fact it was their side causing the delay, & it benefited them so they withdrew their offer. I cried a lot, as you can imagine!!!

If anyone reading this needs a mortgage, please please PLEASE do not use Barclays. I am not alone in this situation - my conveyancers and estate agent both said their other clients were having similar issues. No idea what’s going on with them. They are a joke.

The seller of the house I want very very kindly said if I still want it then he will leave it off the market for me while I find a new buyer. Bless him, he is honestly so lovely! So the flat went straight back on the market and after about 10 days I accepted an offer (same amount as before) from a 21-year-old lad who is buying his first home 😊 The flat is perfect for him so I’m hopeful. He is also using the same conveyancers that the last buyers used which should mean a speedier process.

His mortgage lender is Metro bank and I’m not sure yet if they will be ok with the warranty situation so we’ll have to see. I’ll chase them up next week.

Another big update is I’m in a relationship 🥰 The guy is a dad of 3, a director & engineer, really really handsome & makes me feel amazing 😍 It’s still early days but we have done so much already, like a spa weekend, and driving 3 hours so he could meet my best friend ☺️ We are having a really good time together and I’m just taking it one step at a time. His feelings for me are a lot further than mine are for him, but I think that’s because I’m being overly cautious after my last relationship.

Speaking of which, I saw him. A few weeks ago I was driving to work, reached a set of crossroads, and there he was, in his car. Looking as smug & arrogant as ever. He drives like he owns the road. You know when you think ‘what did I ever see in you?!’ That’s all I kept thinking.

Work is going very well currently. I have one week to go, and then I’m off for a week as it’s the school holidays, then I’m back for a week, and then I’m off for another week as me & the girls are going to Majorca!!! 😍😍😍 Our first holiday in 2 years. It’s gone to amber since I booked it but I have been double jabbed, meaning it won’t affect us at all. Our passports are in date still and I’ve bought the girls most of their holiday wear, so just need to get some bits for me and some euros and then we are done 🥰

The girls both got great school reports and they’re doing really well at the moment. I’m very proud of them ❤️ Next week they are spending 3 days at the school holiday club so I can work, and at least 1 day at my parents’ house, but possibly 2. At least they won’t be bored!

I’m still playing netball which is going great, and I’m also learning how to figure skate which is something I’ve wanted to do for many years. I’ve completed grade 2 and I have 3 more sessions before I complete grade 3 (& maybe 4). Being on the ice is my happy place!!! My new boyfriend wants to watch me but I’m too self conscious for that yet - I want to get better first 😂

I think that’s it for the main updates! I’ll try not to leave it as long next time 😂 I’m taking the girls for their swimming lessons shortly so I need to start getting ready for that 😊 DD1 is like a little mermaid, however DD2 is like me and has no confidence in the water bless her. We’ll get there 🙂
