  • My bank account is feeling very sorry for itself 😂 So much so that I’ve also put a designer handbag on eBay in the hope it’ll let me survive the month without dipping into my savings! It’s been less than 24 hours and there have already been 4 bids on it, and 20 people watching. I never used this handbag anyway so may aswell let someone else enjoy it & get some pennies for it!

The perfume listing ends tomorrow and so far it’s had 6 bids on it with 27 people watching so I’m guessing there’ll be more bids soon 🤞🏼

House news: Still no sign of exchanging contracts, but the buyer’s solicitors have finally received the 2nd part of the management pack, so we are one step closer. The estate agent guy said he’ll call my conveyancers soon to try & hurry them up a bit as it’s been over 18 weeks since the flat sold.

Tonight I’m going to my mum’s house for dinner. She’s doing homemade cottage pie... YUMMMM! 😋😋😋

  • Can I come to your mums house for tea too 😀

You are doing so well, it’s gonna be totally worth it when it’s all done and you are in!

  • Thank you so much!

My perfume listing has just finished - it sold for £26.00 🙂 Once the buyer has paid I’ll post it. I’m not sure when I’ll receive the money as it’s no longer going to be paid via PayPal (they’ve changed it) so that’ll be interesting!

The handbag now has 39 watchers 😊

Dinner at my mum’s was lovely but I wasn’t overly hungry and I was so so tired, so I didn’t stay for long. Mum is trying to persuade me to get my iron levels checked as I’m struggling at the moment but I’ve decided to adjust my diet first to see if that makes any difference. If it doesn’t, I’ll go and get some blood tests done.
  • Perfume now posted. Bizarrely the payment went into my PayPal account so I transferred it across to my bank account. I then checked my bank account to see if it transferred ok and to my surprise I saw the £500.00 tax credits payment pending! I didn’t think I was going to get it as I don’t receive working tax credits, and I didn’t receive a text or a letter from HMRC like everyone else did, so that was a nice surprise! Most of it will be sent towards the moving costs fund, but I’ll keep some back so it’s not such a tight month 🙂

The handbag now has 52 watchers and 9 bids with 2 days to go - I don’t think I’ve ever sold an item so popular before, so it’s been quite nice seeing the bids go up!

I walked into town to post the perfume and I also bought a couple of bits that I needed, and then I decided to treat us all to a Subway for lunch. I stayed good and just had a salad 😇😇 It’s also day 2 of not eating chocolate - so far I’ve been ok, but I definitely feel the cravings more in the evenings! 😬
  • Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing great! I had my first day in the office yesterday after 4 months of working from home and it was sooooo so good! We all had a right giggle and I think it lifted up our spirits! I had a Christmas present sitting on my desk from one of my colleagues 🎅🏼😂 it was a box of Milk Tray, and I also had a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. So yeh, bye bye chocolate ban 😂🙈 We are going to aim to go into the office 2 days a week, however it might just be the 1 day this week as they’re expecting a lot of people in and obviously we still need to be careful of the dreaded virus!

I had a meeting with my manager while I was there, which was mainly us spending 30 minutes comparing notes on the company’s eye candy 😂😂😂🙊 Considering my last 2 relationships were with (ex) colleagues, I really should stay away from anyone who works for the same company as me! No harm in looking though 😉

Speaking of hot men, I’m going on a 3rd date in a couple of days with a 6’4 pro basketball player 😍🔥 He is possibly the most good-looking man I’ve ever seen in my life 😳 His arms are huge, with tattoos everywhere. He knows some of my family members and one of my friends, and has apparently seen me a few times, but I never noticed him before our 1st date (when he told me I look so much like my mum - I wasn’t impressed with that! I mean, he was right, but that’s not the point!). He seems like a lovely person but neither of us are ready for anything serious, so we are just hanging out & enjoying getting to know each other. Our 3rd date will be at a pub garden somewhere - I’m not sure where yet, he’s surprising me 😁

Anyway, enough about men! My handbag sold for £54.00 after 19 bids 🙂 The buyer has paid already so I’ll get it posted soon. I received my £500 tax credits payment yesterday too so I’ve sent half to my savings account and kept half back for now, just in case.

I also had a small win on the lottery! I spent £5 on tickets and won £10 🥳 Instead of re-gambling the money I’ve had it sent to my account 😇 I don’t usually play the lottery these days, so that was a nice surprise!

DD2 has gone up a level on her reading bar 🥰🥰🥰 I’m so proud of her. If you knew how she was a year ago you’d be shocked at the difference! She’s like a totally different child. Last week she got a certificate at school for being a fantastic role model for other students 😍 She is apparently always ready to learn and approaches every day with a positive attitude, according to her teacher! I’ve definitely seen a change - I actually think lockdown was good for her.

I feel bad for DD1 in a way as she’s always been extremely bright, so when she does great things (which is all the time) I have to make sure I give her the same level of praise, as it’s easy to just expect it from her!

I think that’s all to update you on 😊 for now anyway! Have a good day everyone 💜 xxx

I had a call from my conveyancers yesterday about the flat sale. They’re still trying to get this warranty document 🙄 and they’re also trying to get my current mortgage lender to change the postcode as it’s slightly incorrect on their system (I told them a million times in the past but they refused to change it). They’ve been sent the redemption statement though, so it’s getting close! I’m going to pay for the desktop valuation today so that Help To Buy are happy, and then I think we’re good to exchange! Once we’ve got the warranty document that is... I don’t know why it’s taking so long!

Date night tonight with Mr Basketball Man 😁😍 eeeek
  • Date night went well ☺️ He is an incredibly good-looking man... his eyes are just mesmerising! In saying that, looks will only get you so far, and I know that we are not romantically compatible. But I’m not looking for anything serious, it’s too soon for that, so it works for me right now! He makes me laugh & I can be myself around him so that’s good enough for me 🙂 He’s away this weekend with basketball and I’m pretty busy too until after my birthday in a couple of weeks so I have no idea when we can next meet up.

The valuation has been done and sent to Help To Buy, and the postcode situation has been rectified, so there is only one thing holding up the flat sale now which hopefully will be resolved sooner rather than later! 🙏🏼

Since April 2020 my kids’ dad has been on furlough and so has been doing all the school runs (he has worked a few days but not many). He starts a new job on Monday, and so I’m going to need to start paying for childcare again. At the moment the girls will be going to breakfast club in the mornings, and then either me or my mum will be collecting them at 3:30pm. Eventually I’ll ask my childminder to take over the days my mum collects the girls, but that probably won’t be until September. It’s been nice not having to pay for childcare - one positive from the pandemic! 😂

Tomorrow I’m meeting up with my friend who moved from here to 85 miles away last year. I’ve not seen him since July and I’m so excited that we can finally meet up! He’s such a funny person and every time we see each other we always end up having a good belly laugh 😆 He was meant to be getting married last year but it got cancelled for obvious reasons, so will be interesting to see if they’ve booked another date. We are going out for lunch and then he needs to go into a shop about a suit he’s ordered, or something, so it should be a nice day ☺️

Right, I need to get in the shower as I start work soon 🤓 Have a good day everyone! 😁
  • Hey everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend! Mine was good - it was so nice catching up with my friend on Saturday. And we went to one of my favourite places for a late lunch 😍 So I was even more happy! His wedding is in a week & a half, and now that only a select few can go he’s over the moon. He hates being the centre of attention, so it’s his perfect wedding day ☺️ The original wedding was going to be at the same place that Mark Wright & Michelle Keegan got married and it was going to be a huge, lavish (and expensive) ceremony, and I don’t think he really wanted it like that. I’ll be watching on a live feed 😊

I saw another friend yesterday. She’s going through a bit of a rough time with a guy so I’ve been trying to help her deal with his horrible behaviour. She’s such a lovely person, & she’s incredibly beautiful too, yet she seems to attract the WORST types of men there are! Abusive, lying, cheating, manipulating, vile human beings... I have no idea how someone can be so unlucky when it comes to love! I know my last relationship was bad, but at least the relationships I had before him were decent (obviously they ended but it was always on good terms and we stayed friends)! She’s literally had no-one nice. It’s a shame 😢 but she’s a strong woman and I know in time she will meet someone great.

A woman who I work with is in her mid-20s and she told me today in the office that she’s never had a boyfriend before, because she hasn’t met anyone who is worth giving up her single status for. I really admire her strength, especially if she wants kids in the future... it’s so easy to settle when you’re broody! Me & her were comparing our terrible past dating experiences which another colleague (who is engaged) found hilarious 😂 The single lady is also selling a leasehold and buying a house, and she’s about to exchange contracts, so we seem to have parallel lives at the moment 😁 She seems fun, and fiercely independent. I think we’ll get on well 🙂

My child benefit went in today - 45p extra! So an extra chocolate bar 😉 I’ve got £10.40 on it’s way from Top Cashback. And pay day is just 4 days away 😁 Thank you God! It’s been tight this month! 😂

The girls have some free childcare tomorrow morning thanks to a gymnastics taster session in the school hall at 8am... saving me £9.20 😁 I’ll take it! 😂
  • The move is getting closer and closer...hope you get a completion date soon.  I’m glad you wrote about the £500one off payment. I’d never heard of it until it landed in my bank account but I had neither text or letter about it, so a complete surprise!

I bring news, both good and bad!

Let’s start with the bad 🤦🏼‍♀️

The flat sale could fall through. There is no warranty, and you can’t get warranty on something that’s already built. It’s an actual nightmare. The developers used a company who went bust in 2018 & I didn’t realise (the down side of having blonde hair!). My solicitors have suggested indemnity insurance but the buyers’ solicitors aren’t having it. They want warranty, which you can’t get. So both sets of solicitors are arguing and I’m just sat here preparing for the worst. I’ve done a “plan B” budget on my spreadsheet which is basically for if I have to stay here. Obviously financially I’d be much better off (no moving fees and a much smaller mortgage) but my sanity would suffer.

I’m not as stressed as I thought I would be. Maybe that’s because I have friends going through some awful rubbish at the moment, and staying in my flat is definitely a first world problem.

Right, now for the good news! I went to the office again yesterday and the Head of Finance pulled me into a meeting room to basically tell me I’m doing an amazing job & they want to give me a 3% pay rise 🥺 I was so shocked! I got paid today so I’ve already seen how much extra it’s giving me and it’s pretty good. I’m going to increase my pension contributions though, as I can survive without the extra money so it makes sense!

This week has also been nice as I’ve had my hair done, got my eyebrows tinted & waxed, and my nails are pretty again 😊 Tomorrow I’m out for some pre-birthday cocktails with 5 friends at a roof terrace bar. We are going to freeze 😂😂 but I don’t care!

I took DD1 to her swimming lesson today & she did really well. Then when I dropped her off at her dad’s I was told that DD2 ripped out her wobbly tooth. That girl is losing her teeth at such a fast pace, I can’t keep up 😂
