  • Hey! I’ve just had my appointment with the mortgage lender and I’ve managed to shave off 3 years and 8 months off the term thanks to the extra deposit & going into the next LTV bracket. So the new details are:

    Interest rate: 2.2% until 31/05/2026
    Monthly repayment: £651.25
Term: 22 years and 2 months

There is a product fee of £999.00 with it but I’m still much better off overall.

They’re being a bit difficult over my tax credits unfortunately - HMRC annoyingly kept changing my payments in December and January, so the lender is struggling to match up the figures to what was received on my bank statement. Hopefully it gets sorted soon!

Not much else to report except work is BUSY and I’m eating far too much chocolate. I need to get some self-control 😂😂🐷

  • Good morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Mine was nice - the girls gave me some lovely homemade cards for Mother’s Day, and some choccies, and a beautiful elephant tealight holder 😍 It’s so lovely!

Other than that, my weekend was spent seeing my parents, doing food shopping, and housework. Standard stuff these days really!

I’m only working 3 days this week so that’s quite a nice feeling 😊 I need it as I keep waking up really early, and therefore feeling pretty tired, so a couple of days of rest will do me good! I have some plans that involve walks & coffee 😊 It’s also my dad’s birthday on Friday and so I’ll be going round to see him after I’ve collected the girls from school for a tea party 😁 He quit smoking 4 weeks ago and has been surprisingly ok. The last time he quit smoking (about 20 years ago) he was a monster so it’s been a pleasant surprise 😂 I’ve never smoked in my life but I can appreciate that it’s a difficult habit to break, so I’m proud of him. His presents should arrive today, as well as some other things I ordered.

Right, I need to drop the kids off now so I can get back in time & start work. I also need to chase the Help To Buy people because they’re being annoying & not liaising with my conveyancers. Have a lovely day everyone! 💜
  • Heyyyyyy! I’ve had such a good day! Work was great (it’s my 4 month anniversary today, can you believe it’s been that long already?!), I cooked something new for dinner (chicken piccata, massively recommend!), I’m all fresh & clean after the nicest shower and I’m now chilling with lots of candles lit and watching a film. And I have chocolate 😉

I also caught up on my washing today which was extremely overdue lol.

Help To Buy people have now sent what they needed to send so that’s good. Conveyancers seem happy 😊

That’s all from me really. Nothing else to report except I only have one working day left this week! 🥳🥂
  • The mortgage offer has finally gone through! I was beginning to panic a little bit, but I received an e-mail this afternoon confirming that it’s been posted out. Phew!

My buyers are putting on the pressure to get contracts exchanged but there’s one document that their solicitors need first before we can. My conveyancers are having to contact the conveyancers who I used when I bought the flat to see if they have it 😬 I really need to do more packing as I am pretty sure I’m going to be out of here in the next month. Which seems very surreal! It’s been over 14 weeks since I accepted the buyers’ offer. Soon I won’t have to put up with my neighbours, yayyyy!!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Today was my first day off work so I sorted out all my clean washing, did a food shop, went to see my parents, went for a walk with my friend and her 5-week-old baby 🥰 and then picked the girls up from school. I walked loads and my back hated me for it 😂😂😂 haha.

I have been waiting for a discount code to come through for a birthday present for DD2, and this morning I had one from the web-site 😀 they e-mailed it to me, so I promptly ordered the item. I also ordered something for myself 🙊 20% off... I justified it 🤣🤣

Have a lovely evening all 💜 xxx
  • Happy Saturday everyone! ☺️

I now have the mortgage offer and there is absolutely no mention of me being in a new job & needing to work 6 months before they’ll lend the money, so maybe we can exchange/complete in April?! The offer has been posted out to my conveyancers so I’ll give them a few days & then I’ll contact them & ask if there’s any chance of us completing on the house on the same day as completing on the flat. That would be amazing! I don’t really fancy temporarily having all my furniture in storage & living with my parents if I’m honest. But obviously if it came to that then I’d do it!

The girls currently sleep in bunk beds and I’ve decided to sell them instead of paying to store them when I’m not planning on keeping them. They are going to be having their own bedrooms in the new house so makes sense. My friend’s brother & his partner are going to give me £100 for the bunk beds when I don’t need them any more 😀

Yesterday was my dad’s birthday so after I collected the girls from school we went to see him. Mum did a load of food for us which was lovely, but something made me have a bad IBS flare 😨 I think it was the delicious birthday cake to be honest. My tummy was hurting for hours 😩

Today is one of my brother’s birthday but I won’t be able to see him as he lives too far away. Me & my mum put our presents & cards to him in a box earlier this week and posted them to him, so at least he’ll have something to open. I do feel sorry for him as he’s quite isolated 😢

Today’s plans: Do as little as possible 😂 My days off work were spent doing lots of walking with various friends, packing, and running around doing errands, so today I just want to chill & do very little 😁 I have the girls until around 5:30pm so I should probably take them out somewhere! I ordered another birthday present for DD2 yesterday - again, it was on sale but it was something I was going to buy her anyway 😀 I can’t believe my baby is going to be 6. To me she’s still 2 🤣🤣

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! ❤️
  • It’s Monday morning again! I got woken up by a bird who has been trying to get into my bedroom for about 2 months now. It’s beak taps my window 😂

I’m back at work today (well, working from home) after being off since Wednesday. I’m dreading it - I know my inbox is going to be a nightmare 😬 It’s only a 4-day week this week as I’m off on Thursday so at least I can have a little rest then 😂

On Saturday we had lunch at my mum’s, then we went to the supermarket, then after dinner I took the girls to their dad’s and came home to watch TV & a film. Yesterday I did a bit of packing, washed my bedsheets, went for a walk with a friend and then had dinner at my mum’s. Nice & pretty chilled!

I also found out that the gym I want to join when it re-opens has a huge discount for Vitality customers. Seeing as I need to get life insurance anyway, I got a quote and it’s £8.00 a month. It’ll save me £24.80 a month on gym membership so definitely worth getting! This particular gym isn’t cheap but I used to be a member years ago and I loved it. The location is good too - it’s right by where I work, and about 15 minutes from my new house 😊 Definitely worth paying the discounted rate for! And it’s a rolling contract so I’m not tied in.

I need to get in the shower now and make myself look half decent for the morning meeting on Teams 😂 I hope you all have a lovely day! 💜

Good you now have the mortgage offer and hope you get an exchange date soon. Sounds like a good deal on the gym membership.

  • Good morning!

It’s another day of annual leave today and I have no concrete plans... so I’m currently making the most of the peace & drinking my coffee in bed 😍

My conveyancers don’t think my flat sale is any further ahead than the house purchase, and they’re aiming for completion on the same day, so I don’t need to put my stuff into storage and stay with family! Yay! That’s another weight lifted 😊 I’ve had a quote from a highly recommended moving company and I’m going to get a couple more quotes before making a decision. With conveyancing moves these moving companies have to book out the whole day for you as it can take ages for the funds to be transferred, so it’s a bit pricey, but I need some muscles to help me and a van driver so it is what it is 😂

I need to pay 6 months worth of ground rent today but my conveyancers will apportion the costs on the completion statement, so I’ll get a refund when I move out.

I’ve had dinner at my parents’ house the last 2 nights and my mum baked me a cake, bless her. She’s so kind. She also took dinner round to my kids’ dad’s house and she baked him a cake too! I do feel lucky that me & him splitting up all them years ago hasn’t affected his friendship with my family and my friendship with his. I love his family, they’re all lovely people 🥰

I should probably get out of bed now and get in the shower so I don’t waste the day 😂 Have a lovely day everyone x
