  • Thank you 😊 I had a very nice send off. They bought me flowers, a massive hamper of goodies, a bottle of gin, chocolates, and someone baked a huge chocolate cake for me! I got lovely cards and they paid for my department to have a Subway lunch. It was really sweet. The MD did a nice speech for me on the morning zoom and then tagged me in a nice post on LinkedIn (which prompted a tonne of phone calls from agencies 😂). All in all it was a lovely day and I did get emotional driving home.

After work, I picked up the girls from school and drove to my mum’s house as we were sleeping there that night. She looked after DD2 for me while I took DD1 for her swimming lesson. I was very proud watching her swim... she’s like a little fish. Then when we got home, DD2 told me that she had gone up a reading level in school which made me even more proud!! 🥰

Today I need to make sure the flat is spotless as I have a viewing booked for 4:30pm. Then at 6pm I’m out for OH’s birthday meal with 2 friends. It’s not his birthday until Monday but I need to get his presents wrapped if I have time... I don’t think I’ll get a chance tomorrow 😬

The tax credits went in yesterday. It was the new amount since I had adjusted my predicted earnings. I need to tell them that I’ve actually left my job now, I don’t think it’ll change the amount I receive though.
  • Well, that was an eventful weekend to say the least. I’ll give you the short version. I am now single, as (ex) OH decided to leave me yesterday when I stood up for myself. The weird thing is, I haven’t cried about it. I thought I’d be a sobbing mess, but I’ve been more relieved than anything else. I think that says it all.

I obviously didn’t say anything on here at the time but the last few weeks haven’t been great, and I can see now that I’m better off without him. Which is so weird because it wasn’t that long ago when I was dreaming about marrying him.

3 of my friends came round last night unannounced to see if I was ok 😊 bless them. They brought chocolates & goodies with them, even though I had so many from my hamper 😂 Very sweet of them.

    Anyway, onwards & upwards!

Today I’ve been working on my online business which was fun & exciting! It was more about planning how I’m going to grow my audience and getting the product info on my phone, so I can easily copy & paste when needed. I also did the school run & had a coffee with my parents. They’ve been great throughout this rocky patch with my now ex.

Tonight’s plans - get the kids fed & in bed, have a shower, do some more work, and bed 😊😴 I slept well last night but I feel tired now so I’ll probably have an early night 🙂 x
  • That is quite the weekend, it sounds like it was for the best, it still hurts though. I hope he didn’t wait till his birthday as for his gift?!?! If so can I smash him in todger?!?

A new start all round for you then.  If you are not that upset about the split with your ex that maybe tells you things weren't right anyway.  Just focus on you, your DDs and your business.  At least you have supportive parents and friends and take care of yourself.

  • Thank you both. The sadness of the split is beginning to hit me. I still haven’t cried but I’ve found myself feeling a bit emotional about it not working. I am trying not to say too much on here but he has a really lovely side to him, and it’s a shame that another side had to ruin what could’ve been a great relationship.

I was planning on leaving my flat anyway once I found a buyer, for obvious reasons, however now that I only have my self-employed income (which is nowhere near what I want it to be because I haven’t been doing it long enough) no landlord is going to let me rent their house, and no mortgage lender will let me borrow. So I’m stuck here. Perfect timing eh, especially as last night I got a call from the estate agent with an offer. It was far too low, but I made a counter offer & the buyer is having a think. Not that it matters now, he can’t have it, unless I get another job. I applied for one today, you never know...

Sorry to hear your news PB, but it sounds like it’s for the best. Better now than when you’d moved in together too. Sadness is normal and understandable, be kind to yourself and you’ll be feeling better about everything in a few days. Lots of love and hugs xx
