All the direct debits went out yesterday so the balances are:

Mortgage: £81,513.55
Family Loan: £6,000.00
Savings: £2,500.00

2 weeks until I leave. It’s been very stressful this week, I have to say. They are now replacing me with THREE people at work - which is so frustrating for me, because all I ever asked for was extra permanent staff in my department! And I am the one who needs to train them all 🙄

I did my first Aldi food shop in aaaages last night. I’m going to try & go there and Lidl more to reduce the cost of my food bill. I only spent £14.40 but I’ll need to get more this weekend.

The weather is terrible but it’s Friday so I’m happy 😁 My bank account is looking good. 3 weeks until pay day but my child benefit & tax credits are going in before that. I have no idea what I’ll be paid on 23rd, but I’ve put a worst case scenario figure in my budget spreadsheet.

This weekend plans: take DD1 to her theatre group, get my eyebrows tinted & waxed, watch an online event for my business, stay at OH’s, go out with him for Sunday dinner 😋😋 Hope everyone has a good one! 🥳🥂

Employers are so frustrating when they bypass what you are asking for then go ahead with it after you leave.  I had the same thing, I worked four days a week, asked if I could come back full time and they said no, I left. They replaced me with another part timer who as I was training him I was dubious he was up to it. He left after 3 months and they employed someone full time.   In hindsight, it was the best thing for me as I am very happy where I've gone to, the new company are paying for my professional qualifications and I have a chance to step up the ladder which I couldn't do in my old place.  I still have that tiny bit of bitterness though that they discounted it was a full time job, I was just good at getting it all done.

Good evening! I have the Sunday night blues BUT I only have one more ‘Sunday night before work’ after tonight so I’m not going to complain too much 😁 The girls are in bed and I’m just getting everything ready for school/work tomorrow. We need to leave quite early in the morning as my friend is very kindly taking them to school for me (and picking them up, bless her) and I need to drop them off no later than 8am. It’s going to be challenging. What makes it worse is it’s also school photos day tomorrow, so they need to look presentable aswell. I’m not looking forward to it! 😬

Oh, and someone is coming round to view the flat at 10am, so every room needs to be spotless by the time I leave aswell. Ha! 😂

The girls’ dad may lose his job at the end of this month so I have had to tell the drama/theatre/dance company that the girls won’t be able to attend after next week. It’s so expensive and while everything is up in the air we just can’t justify the cost. It’s also 13 miles away, so 52 miles for each session unless you hang around the area for 3 hours, which is a lot. I got quite upset when I spoke to the leader as she was so lovely about it. I said if things pick up then I will definitely enrol them again.

I’m being more frugal these days since deciding to go self-employed and it actually feels quite nice! I do enjoy spending time shopping around for cheaper options and only buying what I need. I’m looking forward to being able to throw money at the debt again but thankfully my family member said they’re in no rush for it & is very supportive of my plans ❤️

I’m now going to go & wash my face and try and chill for an hour or so before going to bed! x

I survived the crazy day! Just! I still need to wash up from dinner, hang up the washing on the airer, get the girls to bed, and have a shower...but I’m having 5 minutes of relaxing time first! 😅

Work was quieter than usual which was a pleasant surprise, and they gave us all steak & chips for lunch which was nice! It does mean that I don’t want my dinner now though 😆 The girls had sausage & mash.

The person who viewed my flat today has since decided that he needs a house instead for his family. So that’s a no. We keep trying 🙄 I’m sure one day someone will want it.

The girls are now in their pyjamas and I’ll be joining them soon! I can’t wait to get into my comfies after my shower 😍 No better feeling 💜

Evening readers. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY DAY!! 🤣🤣

I knew it was going to be a bad day when I turned up at my friend’s house to drop off the girls (she very kindly took them to school again for me) and realised I had forgotten to pack the girls a snack each for school, and also DD1’s PE hoodie. That was so minor though in comparison to what happened next!!...

I left my friend’s house, got into the car, and logged onto the monthly all staff work zoom call on my phone. I plugged in the USB cable so that I could listen whilst driving to the office.  All was ok until I pulled up at work and I realised there were no parking spaces, so I said loudly in an angry tone “I can’t even f***ing park!!” 😡😡😡 (my road rage can be awful, please don’t judge 😂).

To my horror I then heard my managing director who was hosting the call say “sorry, did someone say something then?”

My blood ran cold when the realisation that I hadn’t set myself to mute sank in. Oh. My. God. The whole company have clearly just heard me swear... and 40% of the workforce including the owners are extremely religious and despise swearing!!! 😩😩😩😩

I wanted the ground to swallow me up! My Fitbit told me that my heart rate was pretty high 🙈 I couldn’t believe how stupid I had been! Why didn’t I mute myself?! Usually I’m automatically muted but that’s if I log onto Zoom via my laptop, not my phone. Idiot! It might not seem like a big deal to some of you, but honestly, this isn’t the Company that would be ok with you getting angry & sweary on a Zoom call!

I finally found a space, parked up & walked slowly to my office. Everyone in my department looked at me as I walked in but no-one mentioned what they had heard me say. I kept very quiet. 2 hours went by and no-one said anything so I asked my replacements if they heard what I had said. They apparently heard the word “park” but that was it!!! Oh my god, I actually got away with it!!!

I WAS SOOOO SO HAPPY!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The relief, my god... I was so glad that no-one had heard the whole thing! Lesson learned - always check if you are on mute!!!! I mean it’s a miracle that I was silent before arriving at the car park, usually I’m shouting at someone! 😬

I ended up telling a couple of others once I could laugh about it & they thought it was hilarious 😆 

Anywayyyyy I was able to leave work at 3pm so I could collect the girls from school in the pouring rain and take us all home for a nice warm shower and dinner. I also did another load of washing, washed up the dishes, & listened to them both read. They’ll be going to bed soon & I’ll be chilling after my dramatic day 😅

Oh, before I go... I ordered OH’s main birthday present last night (his birthday is in a couple of weeks). I shopped around but it was the same price everywhere, so I ordered it through Boots. The cashback and the advantage card points haven’t hit yet but usually that happens after it’s been despatched. Tonight I’ll probably order another couple of presents for him, as well as some trainers for DD2 as she has outgrown hers finally after 18 months!

I ended up placing an order on Very last night for DD2’s trainers & OH’s pressies, which doesn’t require payment until March. I just need to get OH some socks and then I think I’m done. I also need to think of somewhere to take him for a nice meal but it’s a bit difficult at the minute in these circumstances 😕

Someone is viewing my flat tomorrow (🤞🏼) so I need to make sure it’s presentable when I leave for work in the morning! It won’t be hard to do as the girls are at their dad’s tonight. I just need to empty the bin, put my clean washing away (I feel like all I’ve done this week is washing!), put the clean dishes away and make sure everything is spotless 😊

OH came over after work tonight & I cooked us both a thai green chicken curry which was delish 😋 We then watched Power on Netflix. We are a bit behind the times, I know! We are only on series 2 but I love it 😁

It’s Friday!! 🥳🥳🥂🥂
And it’s a work from home day!! 😀😍

I’ve been paid by my side job (soon to be “full time job” 😃🥳 One week to go!!). I need to buy a ring light from my business account, so I’ll do that at some point 😊 I shouldn’t need a ‘salary’ from my business account until at least 10th January, however if I’m really careful I might be able to make it stretch to 10th February! We will see 😎 In the meantime I’ll let the money build up each month.

DD2’s trainers got delivered yesterday and they are snazzy!!! They are Sketchers ones, and they’re pink & sparkly. Like a unicorn puked up on them 🦄💕💖💗🤣🤣🤣🤣 She is going to LOVE them! I’m picking her up from school later and then I’ll take us home & show her them. DD1 is being collected by her dad, as he currently takes her swimming on Fridays.

Last night me & OH went round our friends’ house for a chinese 😋 We double date quite often with this couple and it always ends with all 4 of us laughing until we can’t breathe 😁 The best nights!!!

I’m hoping to get feedback today from the Estate Agent regarding the viewing that happened yesterday. If I have good news I’ll let you all know 🙂🤞🏼

It’s Sunday evening. And my final Sunday thinking about work the next day 😀😍 Well, office work I mean. Obviously I’ll still be working!!!

This weekend has been a mixed bag. The neighbours had a party on Friday night which meant I didn’t get to sleep until gone 2am. As a result I was very tired yesterday and apart from taking DD1 to her last theatre/drama group ( 😢 ) I didn’t do a lot. I dropped the girls off at their dad’s after dinner & went straight to OH’s. He cooked us a lovely meal, we watched more of Power, and then we went to sleep. I was shattered! Today we’ve spent most of the day watching more Power and chilling & eating! We did get out for a bit at one point though. A nice stroll to Aldi & Iceland... what a treat 🤣

Speaking of food shopping - I went to Tesco on Friday before doing the school run, and I used a load of Clubcard vouchers that I found in my drawer! So my shopping cost me £1 😁

I got some feedback from the estate agent yesterday. The people who viewed it have decided not to go for it as the 2nd bedroom was too small for them & there is no garden. Apparently some guy from London wants to view it in a couple of weeks though.

Tonight I’ll be sleeping on fresh bed sheets 🥰 the best! 😍❤️

Just spent the evening reading your diary, congratulations on all your progress and well done for leaving your toxic company! Could you sublet your flat and move in with your OH? It must be so frustrating for you both!

Wow Jackie! Well done for reading my diary... I hope I didn’t bore you too much 😂😂😂 Letting out my flat isn’t an option for me really, as the service charges will only increase every year, and I just want shot of it. I don’t want to be tied to a leasehold property any more. I’d rather cut all ties 🙂 I have faith that one day I’ll sell it! 🙏🏼

Monday done & dusted. Work was incredibly frustrating but only 4 days until it’s no longer my problem 😁 I was given some interesting information by my boss this afternoon that made me realise that leaving there is 100% the right decision. I just feel sorry for my replacements. They’re nice people and don’t deserve the sh*t storm that’s going to hit very soon.

After work I popped to Tesco to pick up some bits that I couldn’t get yesterday & then went home, where OH was already waiting for me 🥰 I cooked us both dinner (3rd time in a week! What’s happened to me?! 😂) and then we watched moooore Power 🤣🤣 Obsessed!

My child benefit went in today. Tax credits go in on Friday, and then my final wages a week after that. I’m so eager to know how much my pay is going to be so I can update my spreadsheet! 🤓
