Dinner last night was lovely but I nearly had a full blown anxiety attack before I arrived at the restaurant. I’m not sure what sparked it off, maybe the risk of catching the dreaded lurgy, but once I got there & conversation started I was ok. It was nice to have a proper catch up 😊 One friend bought an item off of me which paid for my meal... win!! 😁

I didn’t sleep well last night & woke up to the sound of one of my neighbours throwing up 🤮 yuck! I feel so tired but I’m about to head out to meet OH & his family as they have some distant relatives visiting. I’m hoping afterwards we can just chill for the rest of the day as I’m shattered! 😴

The rest of yesterday was lovely & it was nice catching up with OH’s family, however I was extremely tired so we didn’t really do much afterwards! TV and face masks mainly (skincare, not PPE 😂).

I also processed another small side biz order, and delivered an order to a friend who was dishing up dinner, so we only chatted for a couple of minutes. Today I have received my commission for last week’s big order 😀 I’m just letting it build up in my business account at the moment.

I have given Tax Credits an updated prediction of my total earnings during this tax year due to my reduced hours. It was a really rough guess as I have no clue how long I’m going to be on these reduced hours for, so I’ll be keeping a close eye on it as I don’t want to be overpaid!

My ex has asked me how much he owes me for recent purchases for the children, so I’m assuming he’ll be transferring the money over later today. I’ve received my child benefit this morning so things are looking healthy, and pay day is only 4 days away! Tax credits will hit then too but it might not be the new amount as sometimes it can take a while for the system to update.

My tax credits amount has been updated already, however it’s a lot different to the online calculator, so it may change again. I’ve no idea how it works to be honest so I’ll just wait 😂

I went to OH’s last night for dinner, and popped into Tesco on my way home to get a few bits for today/tomorrow morning. I get the girls back tomorrow after lunch so I’ll use my lunch break to get some more food in so that we don’t all live on freezer rubbish!

Not much else to report right now. My parents are very likely flying out to their new temporary home next week and I probably won’t see either of them until September, which makes me feel sad 😞😞 I’ve not said how I feel to them so instead I’m getting my emotions out here lol. I’m happy for them but I will miss them terribly, especially my mum. I just wish my dad would retire properly for my own selfish reasons, then I’d see them more! Maybe he will one day...

OH is coming over to mine after work. I’m going to cook us some pork loin steaks 😋 Hopefully it will cheer us both up - he’s feeling down too about other things. I wish we lived together, especially during times like this.

Last night the neighbours were awful 😫😭 So bad that I had to tell them to shut up at 12:45am. It’s ridiculous that I have to ask these inconsiderate morons to keep the noise down at that time on a Tuesday night! The ear plugs didn’t drown out the noise nearly enough. As a result, the kids & I are going to sleep at my mum’s tonight. I wouldn’t usually on a Wednesday night because I have work tomorrow and I don’t like travelling with my laptop etc, but I can’t cope. I’ll come back to my flat in the morning - mum’s already offered to look after the girls for me bless her.

My pay slip is about £80 more than I expected which is a nice surprise! I’ve updated my spreadsheet. I’ve been asked to do an online party next week for my side biz which will hopefully add a bit more money to the pot. I’m a bit nervous but excited! I need to do some research, so that’ll keep me busy in the evenings.

One of my closest friends is on her way to the hospital to have her baby 😀😀 very exciting! Me & our mutual friends will be waiting not-so-patiently for an update tonight! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Baby still not here as the hospital staff hadn’t booked my friend in for her induction like they said they had, so she got sent home 🙄 She has been induced now though. It’s exciting but I’m worried for her. I was induced with DD1 and it was a very good experience until the final hour and then all hell broke loose, and I was left traumatised. I believe that what happened to me would’ve been avoided if I wasn’t induced, as my body clearly wasn’t ready, and my friend’s body is apparently not ready either according to her midwife. I really hope she has a smooth birth 🤞🏼

Last night was lovely with my parents. We played music in the garden & the girls loved dancing with my mum in their pyjamas 😍 I’ve come back to the flat to do some work in peace (well it would be peaceful if it wasn’t for my neighbour, she has one of those really loud over-the-top annoying laughs that makes my teeth itch) and the girls are being cared for by my parents. I think they’re going to take them to the park. I’ve washed my towels since arriving back this morning & I currently have my clothes from the week in the washing machine, so I’ll be all up-to-date soon 😊😊

Pay day & tax credits day tomorrow! According to my spreadsheet I’ll have about £1K to put towards the debt. I’ve decided to split it in half as my family member who loaned me the money said they’re in no rush, so I will send them £500.00 and pay about the same towards my mortgage 🙂

Baby boy arrived yesterday! Him & his mummy are still in hospital but will hopefully be home tomorrow. I’ve ordered a personalised babygrow for him, plus some socks, bibs and a personalised card off Moonpig 😀 I got a birthday card from there too, and there was a 30% code on the app so it was quite cheap.

I’ve sent £500.00 to my family member, so total owed now is £6,500.00 🥳 I’ll do my mortgage overpayment next week. My mum bought some vouchers off me as I wasn’t going to use them, so that’s £15 extra in my account (I didn’t want her to pay me but she insisted). She also treated me & the girls to take away bless her.

I went for a walk around a lake today with a friend & her little girl who’s in DD2’s class at school. The girls had a lovely time playing together and it was nice catching up with my friend ☺️ Tomorrow I’m taking the girls to meet OH’s family for the first time and I’m nervous! I’m sure it’ll be fine 😬

The meet up went well but there was a bit of drama before we got there. I was in Tesco with the kids & had just walked back to the car, ready to drive to the place where my OH and his family were, when I had got a text from my estate agent confirming a viewing that was booked in for 30 minutes time! I checked my e-mails just to be sure, as I thought it was a mistake, and the confirmation was also in there. I had no phone call from them, and the flat was nowhere near show home standard! I sent a quick voice note to OH explaining the situation and that I’d be late, & then I raced home to do as much tidying as I possibly could in the 10 minutes that I had, whilst speaking to a woman at the EA about the lack of notice. She was very apologetic - apparently the potential buyer walked into their office in town & said he wanted to view my flat immediately, so there was no time to contact me. What if I had friends over, or I was having a nap & didn’t hear my phone, or I had a work zoom for that time? Buyers must understand that vendors can’t always work with that much short notice!

I doubt it’ll sell. The guy who showed the buyer round seems really immature, plus all my furniture was dusty & the carpets needed vacuuming, and I still had so much stuff everywhere. There is no hope with this one. I just wish I had more notice. It’s hard to keep it tidy when I have the children!

The kids and I arrived at he venue and my stress levels went down quite quickly. DD1 was very shy at first, but OH’s mum was very good at getting her out of her shell. DD2 was her usual theatrical self 😂 It rained & thundered A LOT while we were there, and when we got home it was clear that there had been a power cut as my oven wouldn’t switch on.

I’m now going to do some housework (which I was planning on doing tonight anyway), & then I’ll have a bit of a pamper & an early night! I’m very tired 😴

Oh! PS - those Moonpig cards I ordered yesterday arrived this morning! How quick was that! Very impressed.

As predicted, the buyer has decided not to make an offer. Apparently he’s at the start of his search & my flat didn’t tick some of his boxes. Each “no” is so disheartening. It’s been just over 2 months since I put it on the market, but it feels so much longer.

Annoyingly, we had a power cut over the weekend, and now there’s no power going into the pump station like before, so my toilet is blocking up & it’s getting bubbles coming up through the u bend again 😒 I have already contacted the managing agents & they said they’ll sort it, but I’m worried that it won’t be done before another buyer wants to view my flat and they’ll hear my toilet bubbling! There’s obviously something wrong with the pump if it keeps doing this whenever there’s a power cut.

In better news, I made a big overpayment to my mortgage this morning - £439.97 to be exact. It will mean that when my direct debit goes out in a week’s time then my balance will be a nice round number 😊

Tomorrow is the day that my parents fly out 😭 it makes me so emotional every time I think about it. I stupidly agreed to do an online party for my side biz tomorrow night - so I’ll have to be all happy & smiley on camera when in reality I’ll want to curl up on the sofa & sob into some chocolate biscuits! 😩

Friday is here, thank goodness. It’s been a tough week, and not just because of my parents flying out. I don’t want to talk about all the negatives so I’ll focus on the positives - thankfully there are some of those too!

The online party was a success and sales were much higher than I thought ☺️ Technology failed on me though, and in the end I had to do my demo on Zoom whilst the host did a Facebook live of me for those who couldn’t join the Zoom call 😂😂 It was a bit of a nightmare, which is even more surprising why so many ordered. I’ll receive the commission on Monday.

My parents insisted that I stay at their house with the kids while they’re away, partly for my benefit, but also because they want someone “sensible” living there while they’re gone. Lol. So we have spent the last 2 nights here. Mum suggested I sleep in her room, so that the girls could have separated bedrooms. I must admit it’s nice being back 😍

My work inbox is the lowest it’s been since lockdown began 😃 I got loads done yesterday and I feel so much better about it!

OH bought me a weighted blanket 🥰 I’ve been wanting one for ages, and it’s lovely. He’s so kind. I don’t deserve him! He got one for himself too. He came over to my mum’s last night for a couple of hours and we just sat in the garden chatting & playing with the cat. It was nice.

Today is set to be a scorcher (33 degrees this afternoon!!!!) and we are seeing a friend and her 2 children. I’m worried the kids will get too hot. Especially DD1, she burns easily 😟 I might ask my friend if we can get there this morning as it’ll be a bit cooler. We’ll see x

My friend’s garden was quite shaded yesterday so thankfully we didn’t scorch ourselves in the blazing heat! I couldn’t believe how hot it was! I think it was the hottest day of the year so far 🥵 DD1 was so sweaty last night in bed bless her. She had a shower just before aswell.

I submitted meter reads yesterday. Despite being at the flat for most of July, my gas & electricity usage was very low. I’m not sure why but obviously I’m not going to complain!

I’ve got a friend and her little boy coming over any minute now. We’ll sit in the garden with a coffee while the children play. Then tonight I’m out for cocktails 😍👯‍♀️🍹🍸 exciting times! Well, that’s assuming we can get ourselves booked in for somewhere 😁 I need to get my outfit, clip-in hair extensions and false lashes from my flat, plus a few other bits, and I also need to find time to see OH at his house with the girls as they’ve not been there in about 3 weeks. I want them to get familiar with it for when we eventually move in!
