  • Feedback in from the Estate Agent! The potential buyer is going to have a think about it but the EA’s gut feeling is a no, because he can afford to buy a house in a higher price bracket. He was attracted to my apartment because of the gated car park & the security, but he wasn’t keen on the service charges (no-one is! They’re ridiculous).

The good news is that I have someone else who wants to look at it this afternoon, so hopefully she will love it 😬🙏🏼 Someone has to want it surely?!

I’m going to take the girls to see OH today so that they can get used to his house. We baked some fairy cakes yesterday so I might suggest that we take him a couple 😊 I’m also going to be driving to the airport at about 5pm to pick my dad up 😍 He’s leaving the country that he’s been working in the last 2 years and coming home! Not for good, as he’s got another job in another country, but it’s only part-time as he’s trying to retire (he’s a bit of a workaholic and has attempted to retire 3 times and failed each time. It drives my mum crackers!). I’ve not seen him in over 4 months so it will be good to see him.

I have ordered the girls a load of books from Amazon so they’ll be arriving next week, ready for operation “don’t let the kids get bored during the summer holidays”! They will need routine during the 6 weeks off, so these will be good for them. I was also going to order a science/biology related toy from there, but Smyths Toys Store was selling it much cheaper (can you believe?!) so I ordered it from there instead 😎

I had the same sort of feedback from the EA PB - they’ll think about it / have others to see etc. I think it’s a polite way of saying thanks, but no thanks. Fingers crossed for today’s viewing, that’s good news people are still wanting to view. I have no further viewings lined up on mine :( and emailed the agent about dropping the price by £5k on Friday. Xx

  • Ah I hope you sell yours soon my lovely. I should be hearing back from the EA tomorrow about yesterday’s viewing.

Dad’s flight was delayed so I didn’t pick him up until 10:15pm 😩 We got home an hour later and I was soooo tired! Thankfully the girls were at their dad’s, so I was able to have a lay-in this morning and didn’t wake up until 9am 😍 Because of the late night I decided to sleep at my mum’s again. I moved my stuff back to the flat this morning, much to mum’s disappointment, bless her. I want her & my dad to have some time together. It’s their wedding anniversary today ❤️

Today I went for a mooch around the shops with OH and then we chilled at his. It has been such a lovely sunny day! We ordered a very naughty chinese takeaway for dinner... I felt very fat afterwards! Must be good tomorrow!

12 days until payday - this month feels very slow 🐌
  • Well sadly the lady who viewed my flat on Saturday isn’t going to go ahead 😢 I’m not going to lie, I feel gutted about it. I feel that this is going to take me a long time to sell. I’m trying to think of the positives, but there really isn’t many!

So back to square one, and back to trying to keep it as clean & tidy as possible which is difficult when the girls are here. They’re not the tidiest!

Work has been busy so far today. It always is on a Monday as I don’t work Fridays at the moment. I am having a break now though which I don’t often do! I’ve chucked out a load of things that had been sat in my kitchen cupboards for months/years. I’m also going to give OH a few items that he’s much more likely to use than me. I’ve taken shelves out of my fridge too so will give them a good wash in a bit.

My laundry is all caught up and is now on the airer by the open windows 😊 I love the smell of fresh washing 🌸💕

Tonight OH is going to cook a meal for me, so that will cheer me up. I could do with a big hug after today’s news 😞
  • I’ve given myself a big pretend slap and got out of my miserable mood... today is a new day! And who knows what it’ll bring.

I processed my biggest order to date last night for my side biz which was great 😃 it was also the first time that I didn’t order anything for myself 😂 so a profitable order! I have plenty of the brand’s products here now so I definitely don’t need anything for a while. I’m making a loss currently but it’s my own fault as I just wanted lots of bits for myself 😂🙈 Whoops! I should get my commission for this order on Friday.

Dinner at OH’s last night was lovely. A very nice evening after a stressful day. Not sure what I’m doing tonight - I have no children and no plans. So maybe I’ll see him again, or maybe I’ll see my parents. Or both?!

I feel for you PB, I was hoping your update would be good news and at least one of us had an offer to report of, so really sorry to read nothing came of it. I’m in the same position :( No offer, no viewings lined up and price dropped. There is one particular property I really want to view too, but can’t until I have an offer. It is gutting isn’t it and the constant cleaning and tidying is just so much hard work. Hopefully we’ll bot come back with good news soon. Fingers crossed for you Hun xx

Bless you... it’s so hard isn’t it! I really hope you get more viewings hun, keeping everything crossed for you.

Shortly after my last post my mum called me inviting me & OH round for dinner tonight. She did cottage pie 😋 followed by cheesecake! I was meant to be being healthy this week 😂 She also said that me & the girls are welcome to sleep there from tomorrow, which I might do.

Today was DD2’s last day at school. She’s quite sad about it but hopefully I can cheer her up tomorrow when she’s back from her dad’s ❤️
  • Why are people so gross? I’ve just took some rubbish up to the bin shed and it is disgusting. A few months ago someone set fire to a bin in there (thankfully not mine) and there is still a lot of mess from that, but now people have been leaving their rubbish on the floor! Items such as a pizza box that had leftover pizza in it... I mean, what moron thought that was a good idea?? I’m going to e-mail the managing agents and ask if they can contact all the residents with a friendly reminder to keep the place tidy. It’s not hard to do!

I also noticed that one of the noisy neighbours’ bin was overflowing. Today is bin day and they didn’t leave their bin out on the street so it won’t get emptied now for another fortnight. I wouldn’t care, but someone has been dumping their rubbish in my bin, meaning I’ve had to keep my rubbish in my flat or ask OH if I can put it in his bin, and I highly suspect it’s these noisy lazy neighbours.

Anywayyyyyyy... I sorted out some paperwork just now (I’m having a late lunch break) so I have a big pile of shredding to do, with no shredder 😂 My paperwork drawer is looking much tidier though. My Amazon order with all the kids books arrived this morning - I can’t wait to show the girls later!! 😀 I’ve also received some work shoes that I ordered recently - I’ve been wanting some new ones for some time, but each pair I’ve ordered has either been too small or rubbed too much. These shoes are definitely the best ones that I’ve ordered (and one of the cheapest!) but I’m not sure if they’re 100% comfy. I’m wearing them around the flat to see if they hurt my feet!

My childminder might not be able to collect my girls from school when they return 😫😭 She collects from 2 schools, and the other school has already announced the new scattered collection times for each student, so if my girls clash with their pick-up times then I’m stuffed. Apparently I’m going to get a letter in the next couple of days which will give the collection times, so I’m not going to alert work until I receive it, but I’m panicking! I’ve already told a colleague who told me not to worry and “employers need to be flexible” but I’m still worried 😐
  • The letter arrived and as predicted, the girls’ allocated pick up times clash with the childminder’s other children 😫😫😫 I contacted another childminder to see if she had availability, but not only is she more expensive, but she doesn’t provide meals, meaning that it would be getting on for 6pm before the girls have their dinner which I just can’t do, it’s not fair on them. I was in such a panic that I ended up calling my boss, & told him all about my dilemma - thankfully he’s a dad himself so completely understood my situation and said if nothing changes between now & September, then he’d be happy for me to work school hours so that I could do the school run. Bless him. I was immediately relieved, knowing that worse case scenario I’d still be able to work there and do the school drop offs/pick ups! My ex may be able to do some of the school runs but it depends on his situation - he’s currently still furloughed, but we don’t know what September will bring.

If I do just school hours then I’d be losing about 5 hours pay a week from what I’m currently doing (or 12.5 hours from my full-time hours). I would get a tax credits increase though, so may not be much worse off. I’ll do the calculations nearer the time, if it happens. It’s probably all a blessing in disguise because I wanted to cut my hours anyway to be there for my children more. Especially DD2, she needs extra support and the school days were just too long for her with going to breakfast club & the childminder’s.

My mum spent most of the day at mine today with me & the girls, which was a big help as I was working. She cooked dinner for us & washed up, and even took the girls into town while I had a Zoom call. She’s so good to us. She wanted us to stay at hers tonight, but I said I need to get used to living here again with all the cr*p from the neighbours (I swear every night the ones who live directly above me decide they want to rearrange their furniture), but maybe we’ll stay there tomorrow night. It’s so tempting to get in the car and drive there now though because I HATE LIVING HERE SO MUCH. I am phoning my best friend at 8pm which will hopefully distract me.

The girls love the books I got from Amazon. DD1 particularly loves the one about the periodic table. She hasn’t put it down! DD2 was more interested in trying to get Matilda on Netflix 😂 She is currently obsessed with that film. Well, to be fair they both are. DD1 is more like Matilda in real life - she loves reading.
  • Yesterday was so busy but so much fun aswell! I wish all Fridays were that great 😂 It started off with a bit of home schooling using new online purchases, followed by a trip to Halfords to get a new helmet for DD1 (and I ended up buying DD2 a new bell too, as once again she’s having DD1’s old bike and not a brand new one and I felt guilty!), followed by a trip to Next to return some items (nightmare, never again!), followed by delivering my side biz orders and catching up with friends who bought through me (one is due to have her baby next week, exciting!!!), followed by a bbq & a sleepover at my parents’ house 😅😀😍 The weather was perfect and OH joined us, as well as one of my friends, and we spent the whole evening laughing. Mum said this morning that she hadn’t seen me belly laugh so much in a very long time. The food was great & I had a couple of glasses of Pimms & lemonade 😋 Me, OH & my friend stayed outside chatting until gone 11pm. It was so good. More nights of those please! 🙏🏼

The girls loved that they didn’t go to bed until 9:20pm 😂 unfortunately DD1 woke up at 5:30am crying because she needed the toilet & she was scared of going in case my parents or my brother walked into the bathroom. Bless her. Thankfully we all went back to sleep afterwards! I’m feeling very tired today though.

Tonight I’m going out to a restaurant for the first time since before lockdown with 2 friends 😀 It’s turning out to be a very good weekend! First of all though I need to do a wash, wash the dishes, get petrol, get my car cleaned (I’m the driver tonight & my car is a bit filthy), drop the girls off at their dad’s, and get glammed up... so naturally I’m procrastinating & avoiding any of those things 😂🙄
