  • That’s work done for the week  :) I’m currently chilling on the sofa watching In The Night Garden with the girls. We had a lovely chicken pie for dinner cooked by my mum  and we are now in our pyjamas. Bliss!

I should be getting my first lot of commission from my side job tomorrow  they’ve sent me a remittance advice so I know how much I’m getting. I’ve decided to reinvest the money to build up my starter kit. So when I next put an order through I’ll add some products for myself that I want to try
  • Commission is in so now my business account has a whopping £23.42 in it  I’m going to set up a Facebook online party at some point with my close friends just so I feel more confident in doing them before I advertise them for real

Today I need to go to the post office to post a Father’s Day card to my dad and return an item to ASOS that I bought with some birthday money. It’s chucking it down with rain though so I’m putting it off at the moment! The girls are sat colouring while I drink my coffee and catch up on here  I need to get them some lunch shortly. We have been quite lazy so far
  • Sooooo today someone viewed my flat  I was so excited when the estate agents called me this morning! I was actually in the bathroom but still answered the phone  I wasn’t letting that call go to voicemail! They viewed it at 1:40pm & I haven’t heard anything since. I’m not sure if that’s a bad thing. Do buyers make offers straight away if they love the property? I get it’s a big decision, but I’m impatient :joy: I’m sure I’ll hear something by Monday.

The weather is still rubbish so we’ve not done a lot. The girls have played with jigsaw puzzles and play-doh, and have made a car out of a cardboard box. I received an order for my side biz so popped that through. It was only a little order but it all adds up! I really need to get out there and deliver some catalogues. I’m a bit scared though... I’m not very confident! Even though it’s just delivering and collecting

The buyer made an offer but it was £7.5K under the asking price. Even the estate agent thought it was super cheeky. I said no, but that I’d be willing to negotiate, but she apparently said no 🙁

I'm so sorry PB. That sounds awful. Wouldnt it be awful if there was a mug of tea obscuring their view of you? Or that the camera was only catching your forehead?
And sorry about the pants offer. We accepted £5k under asking I think it was and considered it a good offer. It's weird all the games estate agents play. Thing is when it's clearly priced to move first week on the market is a bit of a joke. You'll get there. Keep going xxx

  • Good evening! It’s Saturday night & we have the back doors wide open as the weather is loooovely!!! I do love days like this. A lot of my mum’s neighbours are having gatherings in their back gardens, no doubt due to the new social bubble that Boris introduced this week. It’s nice to hear to be honest! They’re not being too loud, in fact they’re probably still quieter than my neighbours back at the flat.

I received a small order today from a good friend for my side business. She’s going through a tough time at the moment with her mental health, so a few days ago I went onto a popular “space animal” website and ordered a personalised Thinking Of You card. A couple of hours after she placed the order she messaged me again saying she had received the card  She lives so far away, which is difficult because I’d love to see her more. We actually first met online back in 2012, and met in person in 2016. Thinking about it, a lot of my friends came into my life via the internet. I do like expanding my friendship groups  I don’t think you can ever have enough friends!

I went into Halfords today with the girls and their dad (being in a shop was weird!!) as DD1 needs a new bike, and we wanted to see what size she needs. Turns out it’s 20 inches so I’ve been on 2nd hand web-sites & FB groups to see if anyone is selling one locally. There was a nice one in our town for £50 and it’s fairly new, but it had gears, and I’m not sure if she’s ready for that so I’ll keep looking. My ex doesn’t see the problem and he’s probably right but I would just rather see what else is out there. She also needs a new helmet.

Tomorrow I’m going to see OH, in his house, and I’m going to squeeeeeze him so hard!!!!! When Boris made his announcement I jumped for joy as OH lives on his own, & so can see me without the 2m distance. It’s going to be so nice. I’m still going to be a bit careful as I’m living with my mum, but I need a hug from him. It’s been too long  <3
  • My afternoon with OH was wonderful!  It was so nice to be able to hug him, and see his house for the first time since all the DIY. He’s done an amazing job. He’s doing the bathrooms next, and I think they’re the final rooms so after that it will be completely finished. Clever boy he is. He cooked me a lovely meal, and bought me my favourite ice-cream, but I was too full to eat it so we will have it next time

I ended up making an offer on the eBay bike. I offered £40 and the seller accepted. She was out & about today so I said I’d collect it in the next few days. My ex will give me £20 towards it as we go halves on everything.

DD2 is going back to school tomorrow. I’m a bit nervous now! I’m not sure why, I suppose it’s just getting used to it. I’m sure she will be fine bless her. I hope she enjoys it, fingers crossed x

Hi PB, have just read through your diary and wanted to say hello. 👋

You have done really well paying so much off your loan and have been going through a lot with your noisy neighbours and work.

We used to live in a flat with nightmare neighbours both below us and across from us! It's so stressful when you just can't relax in your own home, I hope you manage to sell it soon.

The directors in your work sound like a nightmare, why on earth would they want people on an all day zoom call, surely you would get less work done with the distractions?

Good luck with the job hunt and your side business. 👍
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.
  • Thank you sashybo! Unfortunately the job hunt isn’t going well. Still no interview confirmed :pensive: I spoke to the agency woman yesterday who said she needs to chase the company up as when she last spoke to them they were going through all the CVs. I’m not very hopeful now and there’s really nothing else out there :persevere: But I’ll keep looking. In the meantime I’ve put in a request at work to stay working from home until both girls go back to school full-time. My line manager has approved it but he needs to speak to the MD. I’ll hopefully have an answer tomorrow.

In other news, someone was meant to view my flat this morning, but about 30 minutes before the viewing I got a call from the estate agent saying that the guy had called saying something had come up & he could no longer make it, and wants to reschedule for next week. So that deflated me a bit! But I’ll keep crossing my fingers.

DD2 enjoyed her first 2 days back at school  she had a wobble just before lunch on the first day apparently, but after that she was fine. One of my close friends has a daughter who is in the same class and is best friends with DD2, and she’s going back next week, so that’ll make it even better for her! I need to order some books as her reading ability isn’t where it should be and I want her to improve by the time she goes into year 1.

My mum is cooking is lamb steak & chips tonight  yum!!!!!!

Oh, and one final thing, I was naughty last night & spent £35.98 on skincare & make-up. I’m so excited! :joy:
  • The day after my mini splurge on skincare & make-up, I received an e-mail from my manager instructing me to treat myself to something around the value of £30 and claim it back on expenses  So most of the stuff I ordered will be paid for by the company! Hermes are apparently delivering it all today

The shopping addiction has well & truly kicked in though, as yesterday I took the girls to a local shopping outlet and spent more money, and then I placed an order last night and spent even more! I’m not going to lie, it felt amazing, but I know I need to reign it in! My mum gave the girls £20 each and they spent about £8 of it in Primark. I bought some wash cloths & muslins in there, and then went to Boots and spent a load on 3 for 2 items. As I’d spent over £50 they whacked £10 worth of points on my advantage card  so I have £18.75 on there now. Clearly that wasn’t enough though and I just needed MORE, so I ordered through a website I came across that offered 15% off for all new customers and got a massive amount of cashback through TCB (£28.25 to be precise). Safe to say, my skin is going to look incredible in the next couple of weeks, but my bank account not so much!

This does kind of link in with my side business. But still, probably a bit excessive! At least it wasn’t bought on credit I suppose...

I picked up my post from the flat this morning and a statement from my loan account was in there. The interest has now been taken off from my big overpayment the other week, so the new balance is £3,148.55. I saved £32.22 in interest

I’ve got to go and hang my washing on the line now. Later I am going to my friend’s house as it’s her birthday tomorrow and a few of us are going to surprise her with a card & a pressie  We saw her yesterday for an hour at a local leisure centre, and it was so nice for the girls to play with her daughter. Another friend met us but spent the majority of the time chasing after her toddler who was desperate to get into the closed-off playground! Bless him
