Also TSB flagged up my £500 in/out as possible fraud and froze the account! Twice.
They flagged £500 out, while I was on phone having completed Equifax ID questions, call handler went away to register complaint re how long took to get through I tried to send £1 to another of my accounts that got flagged up as well.0 -

I'm reluctant to open a new account as last time they froze the account after I was issued with the debit card and credited funds. It was a faff recovering the funds as they wanted paper ID and their branches have limited opening hours.
I personally think TSB will merge or be acquired by another provider such as Virgin Money or Santander as the TSB brand is badly tainted. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
On the BBC news, TSB to close some branches with a loss of 400 jobs and will concentrate on online operations:eek::eek::eek::eek::)0

OK. So acc approved £50 cashback tracked.
Do you have to wait till you have internet banking fully set up before setting up the mobile app, or can you do the mobile straight away?Life in the slow lane0 -

At least it tracked on Quidco, my first ever cashback transaction with them :money:
Needless to say I tried it and it wouldn't let me proceed until I filled in the ID and password boxes! So duff advice from nice TSB operative.
I used my original ID and password and it accepted it. Hope it marries up with existing accounts.0 -
I got my activation code for my new Classic account, and it's all set up now with paperless and a feed of in £500 and out, the latter done in 3 transactions to avoid it looking like some hacker had raided my whole pot
Hopefully I can keep this up for 3 months to get the Quidco cashback.
I've got a split profile. Not sure if I want to bother getting it merged as this account, after 3 months, will be another sacrificial lamb.Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -
Thought I'd give this a go to help with my Quidco bonus and first time ever I've been declined a current account.
I've already got 2 sole and 2 joint Plus accounts (when they were allowed years ago) and so not sure why declined. I was only applying for the Classic, which I also had 3 of years ago before the Plus replaced.
Quidco states paid in a week, which I found surprising considering you have to meet 3 months T&C's. Cashback did track so I suppose I'll just have to wait and see when it will be declined before or after the bonus in January.0 -
One thing to bear in mind with using the quidco approach is that if your application is referred/not approved immediately and requires an intervention via their credit team or a branch visit (e.g. address issues, ID, credit history, CIFAS protective registration etc) then you may not get tracked for cashback.
So the direct/switch and refer a friend approach might be better for some - if you are the sort who doesn't always get approved online - as they will be approved whatever.0 -
I'm facing a delay b4 I can gain access to my account to meet the operating conditions (new ID, failed to activate, must go to branch for manual merging with existing online ID) is it urgent that I start complying (say) this month or can I safely leave it a few weeks b4 making a trip in branch?
Thnx.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
