UKCPS - “No Stopping” Parking Charge

Ok so UKCPS have already rejected your appeal. The only logical step is to either appeal to the IAS or do nothing and wait for court papers.
Technically speaking, "no stopping" is a valid contravention on private land, HOW they enforce it is predatory. I understand it's not fair but this is how these companies completely take advantage of us.
See my post #155 for my experience with IAS and post #120 for my appeal letter template. IAS is hit and miss like roulette.0 -
Thanks, although your appeal letter template mentions that this is relevant for charges that were given outside the 14 day period, which isn't the case with mine. Can I still use the template and just remove those parts?0

Mine had the wording "Non POFA" written at the top and sent after 14 days. I "suggest" starting your own thread so you can get feedback on how to appeal it.
However, the guidance says appealing to the IAS is a waste of time, I appealed because I wanted to. So I suggest starting your own thread and your case can be addressed there and you can provide your photo etc.
Does anyone advise anything else?0 -
Hi,
I'm so sorry to post, but I'm new to this, and have got myself a bit confused.
My step daughter came to stay in Manchester from the Leicester area, as her mum has just donated a kidney. I had to pick her up and drop her off at Piccadilly Station. I have always used the rear approach to the station to drop off and collect people, staying for around a minute in a space which has no signage, no yellow lines, and as far as I can tell is part of the road to the car parks. I have now received 2 letters from UKCPS demanding £100, £60 if paid within 14 days. They state they are for 'No Stopping', Gateway House, Piccadilly. I tried to log on to the payment site on the rear of their letters, but it apparently doesn't exist! I then read some forums on here about not paying. The letters have Notice to Keeper (MNPR) made under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. I do not recall seeing any signs on the road which indicate no stopping, but I will check this next time I'm in the area.
Can anyone help? what should I do? pay up?, ignore the letters? any advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -
PETERJOYCE95, in reply to your earlier post Redx said that there was nothing that could be added to the information in this thread.
Have you read all the posts in this thread?
All the guidance you need is already in this thread. Please read it.1 -
Just to let anyone know on this thread that needs to know, I received one of these letters in February and on the UKCPS website it showed I was there for less than two minutes while I dropped my brother and his children off at the station. So I copy and pasted the blue appeal letter that is recommended here onto the appeal section on the UKCPS website and I have not received any more letters from them (It was nearly four weeks ago now when I lodged the appeal). On their website I entered an old email address so if they have tried to contact me by email it will have gone there. But so far, so good.
Thanks to all the help here!0 -

Do you understand that they allow themselves up to thirty-five days to reject an appeal?
Do you also understand that they have six years to decide whether or not to chase you through the courts?
Do you understand that there a possibility that a court case may be processed without you having the opportunity to defend yourself, because you gave them a duff email address?
For the same reason make sure you tell them your new address every time you move during the next six years.

Thanks to all the help here!A 4-week passage of time is nothing in this game - they have 6 years to pursue you through the courts. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi, I have an ongoing issue at this site and there is a thread from December which I updated today. I was directed to this thread and Im glad I found it! I was considering throwing my hand in but after a rethink and reading others experience I will be taking it all the way.
ParkingmateUK that is a brilliant template which matches my circumstances and Im tempted to use that in the next few days and send it to the IAS.
Thanks everyone2 -
ParkingmateUK have pretty good templates but it won't win at IAS.
