It makes me really happy hearing how you are settling in, and all your plans.

I have sorting my garden swing sorry for posting late. So glad you will be posting here as it cheers me up. The plans to pay off the mortgage quickly is fab. You are such a bundle of energy it's brilliant. These seeds sound great. Have a great day. I am going to do some gardening. hugs, sw.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Thank you @Chrystal
@savingwannabe I was never leaving here, I had the silly idea of running two diaries, but having time to think properly it wouldn't work. I'm pretending I never started the other one 😁
Today I've:
Painted the shelf, washed up, washing done and drying, filed papers, audited the freezer and unpacked my odds and sods and all my clothes and shoes!
-- three big bags for charity.
Just my paint and books to go through / set up.
Looks like I will be unpacked by the end of this month and the secret garden will be ready too 🤗
It has been hard work, I am very tired and in a lot of pain. This week has been very difficult to work and keep doing everything in my free time. I could easily have just worked and watered the garden but I didn't want it hanging over me and in to next month.
Talking of next month, I've already got my tasks sorted out 🙈 ; sanding and painting the woodwork in the lounge.
Cupboards are built-in eitherside of the chimney breast, lounge door, frame and most of the skirting have all been done in mahogany varnish, it's very overpowering especially against white walls.
Using an electric sander where I can, painting white and putting my chrome handles on.
Having a relax for the rest of today!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Slow and steady wins the race. I think your painting plans sound much better than what you have now. All exciting stuff.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@savingholmes I've only got a bit of tidying to do outside, then it's seed planting and tending to everything.
Inside only really needs a fresh coat of paint on the walls / ceilings, the lounge cupboards doing and a few more shelves put up. I've got about one 1.5 big tubs of trade white to get through.
I'm not doing the other doors / skirting as they have years of paint on them, but will do when I start doing each room in the future. Will give them a good clean and see if that freshens them up in the interim.
Only other thing I would like to do early next year is the built-in floor to ceiling wardrobe in the spare room. That will create more space as I can re-home some furniture. Will get that priced up at some point towards the end of this year.
OH hung the shelf, haven't a clue what the walls are made of after the plaster and before my neighbour, but he broke a drill bit 😂
The lounge now has its final furniture layout, it looks good and I have space for a nice coffee table.
Not sure what we are up to tomorrow, but bound to be garden related!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
White paint is great as you don’t need to cut in the wall/ceiling 😁 lol about the drill bit. My walls usually crumble when you drill into them 😳 At least you know your house is solid 😆0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

@Skint_yet_Again my stance when viewing it was it's over 100 years old, still standing, no obvious movement, it's got to be a good one 😁
It's just the plaster that crumbles, the main brick building tends to be ok. Don't get fretting about your home.
I keep forgetting to tell the funny stories when I post as we all need a giggle at times xMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Not fretting just realistic. Mine’s a 1930’s terrace with lots of original features, deep skirtings, cast iron fireplaces. So almost 100 years old 😳 We have lived here over 20 years, it’s not going anywhere! But it’s a nightmare to hang pictures or put up shelves 😆0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

@Skint_yet_Again yours sounds phenomenal having original features, too many have had these ripped out over the years 😔
I can imagine the difficulty with hanging things and trying various sections of the wall, until you hit the right spot.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
