Picking up my missing herbs Monday and have put in another order for the canes I forgot to add and more weedkiller to finish the communal areas.
Got a great bedtime routine of making a hot water bottle, a few hours later I snuggle in to a warm bed. Managing about 4 hours sleep with only a few wake ups, that I'm aware of.
Plotted my weekend; unpacking, organising and listing.
Found space for a chocolate bar and I'm watching the final Ali3n film.
See you tomorrow!

Morning, hope you are having a lie in but I doubt it. Again like I said to Skinty and ForestBB, pace yourself. You are all doing so much and it is a 3 day weekend.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Of course I haven't had a lie in, too windy. I've:
-- unpacked and organised toiletries
-- done the washing up
-- sorted / filed my papers*
-- been to the shops
-- had lunch
* Found another pension, while it's under £1k, it's certainly grown quite nicely over the years and will cover me not starting a SIPP this year.
--Thats five pensions pots plus my current DB one for retirement so far.
Will try and do a bit more unpacking this afternoon.
Tree surgeons were here just before 8am. I gave them some beer / chocolate as they were packing up / ready to go; they seemed so happy getting something and a few thank yous.
The tree that was in the secret garden has half killed the next building neighbours one, but there's greenery their side of the tree. The stump I have left is going to have a table top put on it. It's not currently a secret garden any more, but when the new little fence goes up it will be. It's good to see the boundary dry stone wall in all its glory.
My gardens look so much more spacious and airy. I nearly cried when I saw how different my plot looks. Both sections are going to be amazing when finished.
I can now move on with stage two and plant my herbs over the next few days, leaving my OH to finish the growing garden and shared path 🤗
Tonight I am cooking haggis and spuds.
Edit to add - I don't get BH off as we close over Christmas / New Year.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

No need to be ashamed SW, we all know you are slogging your guts out at work!
Had a lie in today, was up just before 8am 😀
Last night I worked out a to do list for today, 20 items and so far I've cleared 12 of them, soon to be 14. Instead of looking at the big picture, I broke things down into small tasks and happily got stuck in. I can actually walk around my 2nd bedroom now because of rearranging 2 items of furniture. I can see / grab bags and boxes to unpack and organise.
Some of the completed tasks:
-- put footstool in bathroom
-- add bin collection dates to calendar
-- put catbox on kitchen wall cupboard
-- empty coloured holdall
-- wash up, put away
-- put X, Y, Z in cupboard (I listed them as individual items)
Some of the outstanding things:
-- sort charity kitchen things
-- sort make up
-- clean kitchen surfaces
-- another coat of paint on bedroom chimney wall
-- hang pictures on bedroom chimney wall
-- sand / paint test area on lounge cupboards*
*these are built-in to the set back part eitherside of the lounge chimney breast, dark mahogany and quite overpowering.
All I need to do is sand a small section off, paint it, make sure there's no reaction and the paint stays on.
Then I can sand / paint all three of them in white, add the chrome handles and they will visually blend into the walls.
Doing it this way has removed how daunting and overwhelming everything is and made it easier to see what is left to do. I'm now contemplating keeping the tallboy and using it for bedding / towels until I can get the built-in wardrobe.
I had plenty of sit downs in-between doing each task and also did a few things not on my list!
I'm about to have bacon and eggs for lunch (another task ticked off), then I can do a little more unpacking this afternoon, tackle a few more tasks, write a new to do list and also water my potted herbs, veg and rose garden.
Tonight I'm cooking the haggis as I ended up doing roast chicken last night.
My film choice is Bond as I'm working my way through them again 🙂
Payday is this week, so I can update on the financial side when I've moved the money around.
Have a great Sunday!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Blimey I did a bit of weeding! I'm so embarrassed......Do you have a phone box in this garden and have a penchant for blue tights and red pants????Aiming for a minimal spend 20223

I know what you mean about breaking jobs down into a list to make it less daunting. I do love a list ! 😁

Hehe ladies, more like body brace and matted dragged through a hedge hair 😂😂
To do lists are great, seeing the tasks get crossed off helps.
I've now unpacked, sorted organised, charity piled my clothes, bad news is my work gear isn't here 🙉🙈🙊
I've a tiny bit of space in the wardrobe, will load as much on to three hangers as I can and hopefully won't have to scale my things down even further. I've already got two huge bags for charity and have been ruthless sorting through everything, when deciding what to keep.
I think the last drop off is tomorrow, but at least I have floor space for it now.
I've organised towels, bedding and spare duvet into the tallboy, started writing the next to do list and I think that's me done for the day 😶😶😶
OH is going to be putting shelves up in a few of the rooms, I can organise my odds and sods and unpack the books. Once I'm fully unpacked, I can set up my art and photography areas and get on with the little tasks inside 😁
Think I'm on schedule for being unpacked by the end of this month 🤨
Don't think I will make it to the garden for a few hours!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Starting to realise I've pushed myself a bit much this month as today I've barely been able to walk from the lounge to another room.
For some unknown reason I signed up to a 'movement class' for my lunch break today, struggled even to do the warm up exercises for upper body, by the time it was lower body I was a spectator only. Hopefully the swimming pool will open at some point this year.
Saw the state of my car, somehow the damage to the bumper wasn't seen by OH the other day, only the mirror. Doubt the animal / bird / alien survived.
Collected my missing herbs and new order from the garden centre after work. Watered all my herbs, toms and peppers and just deciding what layout for them.
Tomorrow's tasks:
-- assemble greenhouse
-- plant herbs and sweet pea in herb garden
-- plant toms, and peppers in greenhouse
-- spray weedkiller on communal path
Then it's down to my OH to do the shared path and veg garden!
Had the last of my things dropped over, means I can finish unpacking, organising and adding to the charity bag.
Working four days over the five this week, which will give me time to finish unpacking and ordering the remaining garden things.
Payday in a few days.
I've had homemade Chinese chicken curry and rice. Found ice cream in the freezer for later.
