Thanks Skinty,
Hope OH sort yours out, they've been really good to date.
It's a power trip / clueless manager thing, but doesn't make things easier to deal with. Some stuff is going on behind my back, I've been given snippets about increased hours, not enough to fully grasp what's coming my way and have to wait for B2 to tell me; again just demonstrates B1 lacks management and people skills.
I didn't sleep last night, slipped in 30 minutes doze when TomBo got up. Had a broken doze on my chair after work.
TomBo has the rest of the week off, he's hoping they'll be a dry spell to go out for a bike ride. I've told him I need to finish condensing my notes, but we can have a few hours fun each day.
Got my feet up and been watching TV.

Cat barged into the shower room last night, shouting, as TomBo was taking too long and she wanted to go to bed 🤭 she got up for a stroll and food a few hours later before returning back to bed.
Wages have been shuffled around and large O/P made, there'll be a noticeable difference each month if I can keep it up.
- perhaps I should consider a few more work hours and use that towards a separate pot for when the fixed term is up.
We've been to T, got stuff for Xmas, plus the usual fruit, bit of veg, cheese, cupboard items, hot drinks, fruit juice, booze, nibbles etc. Saved over £13 plus used some vouchers, TomBo spent over £70 🤨
- he wants to keep the vouchers for towards the end of the pay month, even though I'm still building survey points up and can cash in more.
Got my feet up drinking a latte, still very windy yet warm during the occasional calm spell.
This week's indulgent fruit juice is black grape, which I'll top with lemonade 😊

My current hours would be more than enough if MF, but potentially taking another day makes more sense if it's an option. I think realistically that's all I should do, regardless of whether I am studying, just purely from a health point of view; I've come too far in a short space of time.
If I can keep a steady stream of 'passive' income made up from cashback, surveys and discounts, I'll be very happy staying PT as it means I'll be able to work for more years. Supplementing it all with growing my own and I'll be in a perfect position to say I'm living the modern g00d l1fe 😃
I've pottered in the garden, did a little weeding and should be eating more strawberries in a few days. The onions I planted last winter are fattening up, they should be ready to harvest in spring.
I'm reworking my budget for next payday, as I should have my backpay and new salary. Want to ensure my pounds are going to the right places and I'll have my membership fees to pay so need to ensure I've plenty in my study account.
Got £200 in the bank for food, petrol and a couple of Christmas gifts.
We had parsnip and butternut squash soup for tea.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
We visited a few charity shops today, I got a brand new garlic press for £1, TomBo got TV show CDs for MIL and books for him.
Went to PaH, got cat's Christmas present and usual food, litter etc and stuff for SIL furballs. Should have about £5.60 cash back 🤭
I did have the finance chat with TomBo over a coffee when we got in. Thinks it's great I'm paying the utilities in full and leaving the 'grant' on account for future. He's happy the mortgage is reducing, savings are increasing, likes the plan of mortgage / savings meeting in the middle and then clearing it. Understood why I had to build up savings before targeting the mortgage again and is beginning to grasp why I'm building up a 'passive' income. But maintains he has no interest in any of it 🙄
I've done a bit of weeding and admired what's sprouting for next year and how things are still producing this year. Also moved a bit of money to savings.
Sibling is still clearing the hoarding and it was a year yesterday. Decided to get them vouchers for Christmas so they can have a nice meal and get other bits in; I'll use some of my backpay for that.
We're furball sitting the weekend, will grab some treats from the garden before we head out each day.
I'll also be doing my studying as I need to get that finished, I wanted a clear head after this week to ensure my focus was on point.
I was going to be having bacon and halloumi for breakfast tomorrow, but I think he cooked my bacons 😥

At least you had a £ talk. And good he is contributing.

Providing sibling is doing some I'm tolerant, when they stop and come up with excuses it riles me.
I've told TomBo to reduce the amount he pays and explained the apportionment of it between savings and O/Ps.
Sorted present ideas out. Getting kitchen items for TomBo, vouchers for sibling and MIL, food and toiletries for SIL and BIL, food for AIL and UIL. I'll order some this week and sort the rest out next payday. Already have gifts for cat and chocolates for everyone.
TomBo will sort other vouchers for MIL, drink for UIL, gifts for cousins and mini me.
My bacons are still in the fridge!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

I was bracing myself thinking it was next week. Wouldn't be surprised if reality is starting to bite sibling and that's driving the change, or perhaps that's just wishful thinking as there's no logic to how they do things ☹️
With TomBo I have to cut out all the build up, or back story, just be straight to the point. Savings are A, mortgage is B, you pay me C and of that D is now being for O/P and E is savings.
I got in the flow of talking and went a bit technical saying about capital repayment element of the contractual monthly payment, stopped, then said "basically it's over £500 each month being paid off the mortgage now which will bring the balance down quicker".
Found out the NW / R8S D1g1tal account is increasing the balance to £5k where it pays the higher interest rate. Looks like I'll be throwing money each month into my original one to fill it up and will continue with my other one as overflow. I've already swapped my r0undups to it and changed it to double them.
- I'll use lower APR accounts to money shuffle, unless I get to increase my hours I'll only be able to fund one of them in full each month.
Sitting on my comfy chair today, it hit me. Why have I not grabbed my laptop and done my cross-referencing off it. I don't need to sit at my desk now as I only need one screen and I have a dinner tray to put it on!
Now, do I have my bacons first or get on with studying, rumbling belly has just decided that one 🤭Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
