I am hoping it is a bacon sarnie! You are doing so well it is inspiring. I can only work and then cant garden so envy you soooo much. It will be worth it in the end.

It's bacon, but we always refer to it as bacons 🤭 I had grilled bacons and halloumi on tiger bread, got the rest for breakfast tomorrow.

I've done some condensing, tried it off my laptop only but it was too awkward having the videos playing while trying to sort my notes out. I'll move on to my chair after I've finished the videos.

I've started ordering TomBo's Christmas presents and will have the rest organised over the following week.

We had roast diakon (homegrown), carrots and tomatoes, covered in homemade garlic oil (the garlic was homegrown), spinach and kale (both homegrown and cooked in the garlic oil, with grilled chicken smothered in herbs (homegrown). No vampire will come near us for a while!

Got my feet up, watching TV, sipping orange juice topped with lemonade.

Well done on the vampire banishing! Always knew that was an MSE trait ;)

I'm unsure if this morning's garlic smell is me or the leftover veg! We both enjoyed the meal and TomBo is making soup with the veg and adding in some cauli.

I've got most of TomBo's gifts ordered, just deciding between a couple of items.

I'm hoping work offer me a permanent PT role. I've come to understand the benefits of having a job I can tolerate and the freedom in my personal life that comes with it.  For now I have to carry on as if there will be nothing at the end of this contract; I've honestly got nothing going on in the background at this stage.
    - freedom has a higher value to me, which is a huge turnaround.

I still need to figure out my balance between fun and study. Too much of one means I can't do the other, although I know when it's just revision things will be a lot easier.
    - probably hasn't helped with TomBo being off and we are able to do things together and I've been teetering on the edge of burnout for years.

It is just so good that the bullying at work is not affecting you now as it is in perspective and your life outside of work is so much more enjoyable. lol to the garlic. Well done on Christmas shopping. I have done it for two friends but going to give cash to the rest of my family.

  • Thanks SW, it bothers me but as I'm not FT eventually it washes away.

So close to finishing gift shopping for TomBo, all from the comfort of my chair.

I'll have to knuckle down tomorrow with condensing my revision notes as I didn't have the energy today.

Personal care and pampering is something I'm struggling with at the moment, I don't have enough of a balance, or the energy, to slot it in. However, it's still early days and I'm probably trying to run before I walk fitting everything in.

The soup was nice, pudding was posh biscuits and I've got my feet up.

I've had forced rest where I've not had the energy to study, but mentally moan at myself over it.

I'm still debating one gift for TomBo, but will make a decision over night.

I have been offered temporary extra hours, not long after B1 did their usual. I don't want to decline them as the extra money will always be welcome, shows willing and all that, but at the same time I'll be further exposed to the one who makes things unhappy for me and nit-picks; all it will take is them saying something when I've not slept or not in the right frame of mind and WW3 will break out as I've a viscous and honest tongue at times!  It's causing inner conflict.

TomBo has said how many hours he thinks and I'm in talks with a couple of friends to gain outside input in the hope it helps me make the right decision. I'm trying to do it so if a PT perm job pops up, they do think of me. With the right permanent hours I'd be able to finalise plans in my personal life.

We're having chippy night as we are both tired today.

  • I didn't sleep last night trying to work out what to do. Came up with a few ideas regarding hours with the intention of finalising what would work, however it went out the window when I had to quickly give an answer! I quickly cross-referenced everything, figured out how I'd structure my time and sent my proposal, which was accepted.
    - I start next week 🤫

Had a chat with B2, told them I'm studying and they were so happy for me as I'm keeping my options open, while also opening numerous doors here and understand why I need certain dates off. They've confirmed I've got what's needed to climb grades if that's the direction I decide to go in, but is aware I'm trying to do the right thing with my health.

From this stint I'll cover 2 years regulator fees, June exam, next module cost and that exam fee with some money left towards the £1800 for another 2 years reg fees, 2 exams and 2 modules, based on today's prices 🤗
    - some of that £1800 will be funded from tax rebates when my hours settle back down.

Still haven't finalised TomBo's gifts as I didn't have time to breathe today, did 11 hours and barely moved, now I'm apologising to my body and hope it forgives me ready for what's lined up the rest of this week 🙈

I'll be finishing my revision notes over the next few days and begin learning them; no iffs, no bits, no excuses. My dept closes for the whole holiday period, which provides me with additional revision time and TomBo will work some of the days as his dept doesn't have all the time off, but he likes the O/T and quiet 🤭

We are having Christmas at home, with a visit to SIL et al as MIL is coming down.

Had leftover veg soup for tea.

  • Even though I overdid the sitting down yesterday, could barely walk and pain levels were high, everything settled overnight and I think these pain meds are making a noticeable difference. Just need something for when I've overdone it in the garden or a normal shopping trip.
    - I'll never be 100%, but there's hope I can be more comfortable.

Yesterday the survey company released a bonus, complete 5 surveys and get another £5 on top. Done and the bonus has already gone on.

Cat's Christmas present delivery is turning into a saga, I've sent a complaint to the courier and messaged the seller to let them know; driver fibbed saying they've been here 3x so I'm expecting it to get returned ☹️

I'll have to think of something else for sibling as they can't print at the moment, but I don't want to give them actual cash as they've had more than enough out of me. Can't post a voucher / gift card as I don't trust their furball not to eat it!

Studying was productive and I'm confident revision will start this weekend. I've also retained a lot more information than I thought, which is a good confidence builder.

There's some stuff going on at work, which may bring positive change. I'll wait for further info but am already formulating plans so I can pounce at the right time if need be 🤗

I'll have to organise a full pamper session soon as I've not dyed my hair since starting here and it's been a while since I did brows / lash's, although I have been keeping them plucked.

We had homemade veg soup for tea and it was delicious, loads of peppers, ginger, garlic, greens and some chilli and root veg all blitzed with some little chunks that escaped the hand blender. Got a portion for lunch.

Got my feet up and we're watching a subtitled crime series.
