Thanks Skinty
If I put it in end of this month, I'm free end of next with a full month's wage and 8 days holiday pay.
I'll move the pension from here into my SIPP.
I've also got a meeting after worth with a college to finish my qualifications off, a lot cheaper than where I thought I'd have to do it!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

Oh SH it really is! I've had my college meeting and they've accepted me on the course 💃🍾💃
The guy was fantastic and been teaching it for almost as long as I'm been dipping in and out to do both levels! Such a contrast to when I've been to college / uni to do my previous modules and the support sounds fantastic!
I start my first module the beginning of July as they're running a 6 week summer school for that one; £300 plus cost of submitting work.
Then I can register for a big module and do the exam at the end of this year, £500 plus exam fee.
That would leave me 3 big modules to do over 3 years, possibly even getting them done in half that time 😃😃
Feels like a weight off my shoulders and the costs are so much better.
I've also been chatting away to my new employer. I'll be 'hybrid' working, with occasional visits to clients; it's a different office and a slightly better drive. I've picked what equipment I want and they've said which bits to start getting a better understanding of while waiting to start / undertake training; I asked as I don't want to go in 'blind'.
I have picked the date my resignation goes in 🤭
What a start to the weekend!

Thank you Skinty
Time for a joint celebration and some good fortune 😊 just what we both needed and our stress levels will begin to reduce.
TomBo and SIL are really pleased as they think I'm suited to the role. I've told a couple of workmates who are genuinely happy I'm getting out.
My pay is slightly less each payday than I currently get, but more paydays a year 🤭 more holidays, can buy holidays (good for my exam days), discounts (including swimming) and obvs the DB pension plus a load less fuel each month.
I need to find a desk 😊

Thank you SH and DIA
I've been up since 6am, should have gone back to sleep but I got up instead.
I spent the first few hours of my day searching online for a suitable desk to accommodate working and studying.
Decided to call a charity shop I've used before, see if they had anything and I'm now the proud owner of what appears to be a solid pine desk with shelves fixed above it; one side for work the other for study papers / books (£65 + £20 delivery, arriving Friday).
I also picked up a rug, but turns out to be a hall runner (£5). It's light green and will complement the hall colour scheme, while also covering TomBo's ethernet cable; the current rug only covers some of it and I've tripped over the cable a few times 🤨
Having thought about J3 I will be pulling out of the interview, it an ok role but nothing exciting and I'd probably find it quite frustrating as I'm well past that stage in my career, let alone the commute is over an hour by train. I'm not submitting any more applications, there's no reason why I'll have the J1 offer withdrawn with references and that search for criminal records.
Instead I'll use my time to garden, prep for college and wind down from current job. I will need another trip to Mat-ll-n to buy a few smart casual items at some point before starting.
Time for 2nd vanilla latte 😊Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Fab bargains. Those Ethernet cables are a nuisance. DS has one that he occasionally uses and it goes from the living room and upstairs. Great idea to put the runner over it0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
