  • Thanks Skinty, I am!

I've only got another 6 left and want to get the decorating finished. That way I can work out my 2023 financial plan and decide what project to undertake next year during the Christmas holidays 😃

  • Having a chill out day as TomBo's stomach is protesting about the homemade pizza.

I snapped my bracelet yesterday and I've been round the village today to find a bangle. The independent charity shop didn't have what I wanted, nor did the handmade shop, I then kept a snails pace to reach the antique shop.
    - picked up a hallmarked gold and silver bangle, with six 'diamonds', it's a very similar style to my engagement ring, spent £28. It's gorgeous 🤗

Popped to the local shop and picked up some bits for my office day and other items, spent under £7.
    - Will get the rest from A1DI after feeding the furballs later.

Last stop was the butcher, pork, beef and bacon; we're set for the weekend. Spent under £34.

I know how lucky I am having these varied shops on my doorstep and do use them where I can.

Nothing else planned aside from rest and the quick trip out later.

    Your new bangle sounds lovely.

I kept wishing we had a local butcher, then remembered we do...
We have a big chain garden centre a few miles away, where about half their indoor space is their very expensive restaurant and independent shops, one of which is a butcher.

Keep forgetting about it as we use a smaller independent garden centre as it's cheaper, friendlier and very knowledgeable.
The big one is more hard sell than advice.
Asking for advice on a bulb for a pot feels like you've asked them to kit you out to open a new Kew garden...
If it's not adding up, compound it!

  • Thanks SH and Grogged

It's worth doing a search for a farm shop or another butcher, even as a weekend, monthly or special occasion treat. Serve it with homegrown veg and life feels good.

I think I've worked out the maker of my bangle and it's CZ for the 'diamonds'. Need a magnifying glass as my phone camera can only pick up some of the markings. However, it kept me busy for a few hours.

  • Sorry to hear the pizza didn’t agree with tombo’s stomach. Hope he’s feeling better now.

Butcher sounds fab and your bracelet sounds great. I still have the bangle I found on the grass. It took me ages to work out the maker & markings. Not as nice as yours sounds though.

  • Thank you Skinty and SH.
I thought you were selling it. As we approach Christmas it may be worth trying.

I'm searching for a nice watch. I've picked a few out and am watching them on 3bay. I've also found some stunners but they're in the U$A; tax and postage bumps up the cost and there must be a hidden old gem over here.
    - it will be my cake / Christmas day treat to me, from me.

    I've had a pamper day!
    - Tried the j0l3n wax strips, that's going to save me loads of money as it's 16 in a box for £1. I've got 3 boxes of them.
    - Finally got round to colouring my hair. I used a whole box and smothered it for good allover coverage. Can go back to half a box for a while now.
    - Used a new blade head and did my legs.
    - Finger and toe nails are painted silver.

If I've the energy tomorrow I'm going to use my superdr-g points and buy eyebrow dye on my way home.
    - I'm swaying towards having a go at doing my eyelashes, but would need a magnifying mirror for that. Use an old mascara brush to apply it.

All I would have to do is get my brows waxed once a month. Perhaps even getting them threaded at superdr-g after an office day.

The initial outlay for the full salon at home pamper would be under £30; it would be cheaper if I only used one colour for brows and lashes instead of two for each (black / dark brown for brows and blue / black lashes).

Potentially, I'm looking at an annual purchase of £22 for the dyes and wax. £8 if I stick to one colour and wax.
Salon would be £144, less if I use SD.
Bringing me a huge saving of £180+ a year, which could be used on other nice things instead.

I've talked myself in to it!

Having slow roasted brisket with homegrown veg for tea 😊

  • It's great that you did some pamper shopping and did some nice things. Yum to food. I'm starting to get hungry so am definitely on the mend.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • Thanks SW

Change of plans today, I went back to bed and didn't get up until 3pm. Had a migraine yesterday, which got a lot worse overnight, kept waking me throughout the night and was unbearable by the time my alarm went off.  Had cat cuddles and lots of meds to calm it down to a level I can cope with.

I will try and do my pamper shopping this week, when I feel up to driving and going in.

I'm getting £7.56 compensation for some old PDL's, should be in my car everything account this month.
