Thanks Skinty, I need 6 to be classed as an orchard, but I'm putting together a 'fruit farm' in one section. Cherry tree, strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries. The whole lot can get netted together when in fruit.

I would like an apple and pear tree, but TomBo is experimenting with tree cuttings and reluctant to let me buy any more trees at the moment. It's a shame as the patio fruit trees were 1p under £20, which is a bargain for an established tree! Especially as we have the £100 voucher left.
    - TomBo wants me to spend the voucher on things for me, I want to spend it on things for us.
    - I might pick up an apple and pear tree Friday.

I did want to keep the fruit trees in pots on the patio, that way if we moved they could come with us. TomBo wants them in the garden, which I guess indicates he doesn't want to move 😀
    - the one we picked out has a lot of healthy branches and he can train it (espalier) to suit out garden.

Barely slept last night. It was very foggy on the way in, but not loads of traffic and I got a parking space. Popped into T for a meal deal and large bottle of fizzy drink spent £4.50.

I've had fresh peas for breakfast 🤭

  • It all sounds fab. I don’t like cherries but I would get an apple and pear tree. 2 doors down from me have both in their garden and they are laden down with fruit this year.

Takes a few years for them to settle in and then each year they keep getting better, if looked after right.

Had a bar of chocolate stuck in my mouth when I walked through the door this evening.

I've had a potter round the garden, feet are up and I'm watching TV.

    Thanks LW2G

I emailed my broker this afternoon, just to get a feel for whether I'm on track to remortgage after the CF is paid and I'm waiting a reply. I have done rough calculations and it will cost about £2200 for ERC's, legal and broker fees. I will go with no fee or add fee to the new mortgage as potentially it only adds up to £2pm on the monthly mortgage payment, based on the way my own bank does it.

I've got my beauty salon appointment Friday. Will have to try and die my hair over the next couple of days.

Had fish and waffles for tea.

£14.47 in the bank, £2 is bank fee, 3 days til payday.

Love that you have a cherry tree. The blossom is stunning although the birds tend to get our fruit.

Hello i wrote a comment and it disappeared! Well done on all of the trees, it sounds like an awful lot of hard work but will be worth it as you will be so organic. I hope Tombo is better. I am so chuffed that you are going to the salon you deserve a treat! Look at you, you get a new car and still manage to find a way to shave money off your mortgage!

Thanks SH, the birds and bugs had all my fruit, but it's a learning curve for the next few years.

Thanks SW, TomBo has bounced back and the garden brings hours of pleasure.

I'm reducing the mortgage O/P's back to £100 for the rest of this year and can still get it to under £60k by December.

I've also reduced my SIPP and some savings for the remainder of this year too.

The now freed up money from the mortgage, SIPP and savings enables me to make decent CF O/P's over the next five paydays, with the remainder picked off during the first four months of 2022.

It wasn't an easy decision, hence me constantly working numbers out, but I will still have the mortgage cleared by 2030 and everything else I've planned 😀

Fantastic news on all the finances. Glad garden is doing well. Birds and bugs used to do the same to my fruit! I am sure you will find a way to sort it as you are v green fingered.

We are more than halfway through the week my lovely. Hurrah.
