You are doing impressively well with your money. Fruit trees bring joy, pretty flowers and wildlife. I feel blessed by mine even when the birds nick loads of fruit

Thanks SH, I got lucky with the timing of buying the car as the O/P's came out of last month and this month pay.

I am doing well with budgeting plans and will admit to being quite proud how I work every detail out.

We've just been working out where all the fruit will be going and have allocated 2 sections of the garden, that leaves 7 for veg. We can transplant everything aside from the raspberries this time of year.
    - when it cools down a bit, we will go outside.

There's a lot of insects and birds. Having a garden means we share produce with nature, get to hear various songs twittered and see beautiful creatures. It's hard to know who's luckiest, us or them 😊

Thanks DIA and SW. Everything is coming together.

I've found a few more farm shops for us to visit. What I'm trying to do is find a farm where they sell what they've raised, then it's a super treat for birthdays and Christmas.

No lie-in this morning as cat was hungry!

It's drizzling a bit and the fog has now lifted.

    Today we are staying local:
    - popping to the local nursery, they now accept gift cards as payment.
    - T as we want buns to go with the buffalo burgers.

  • Where were the buffalo raised MF ? I saw a programme about UK buffalo farming a while ago. It may even have been a section on countryfile. Hope the weather improves for your outing today

Thanks Skinty, K-caldy. From my searches there's a few buffalo farms up here.

The weather hasn't brightened up, but it didn't stop us getting golden raspberry bushes from the nursery and a 5% discount. Used gift card.
    - all the raspberries will go in the tomato section, when they've finished.

We popped to A1DI got fruit juice, chocolate peanuts, ham, 'slaw, rolls and store cupboard items spent £19.

I've cleaned my car today, looked nicer when I left it but no doubt birds have deposited on it again.

I've had to lift about 20 tomato plants as blight came. I've still got other plants across both gardens and I'm hoping not to lose any more. Fingers crossed I can get all these picked ones ripened quickly and then make lots of pasta sauce. I don't have any banana's and about to look up what else I can use.
    - I'm not upset and I had a feeling this would happen today.

  • Sorry to hear about your tomato plants. Hope you can ripen & use the toms. You could always make green tomato chutney. My DM used to make it and it was yum! How were the burgers ? Did Tombo cook them in the bbq ?

Thanks Skinty, it was always a risk and I've been lucky to last this long. Lots of people in my county already lost theirs.

I'm dropping the toms to SIL later and she is making chutney. She's really good with her jams and things.

If my other plants have to be taken up I can quickly knock up a lentil curry / soup / spicy chutney with them.

TomBo grilled the burgers. They were meaty. I guess kind of like beef, if I think of minced beef, but nicer. Not dry as they retained their moisture. Did shrink a bit, as burgers do. I'd be interested to try a steak, that would probably be easier to describe the flavour!
    - we have said we'd have them again.

I forgot it's a BH today and wondered why some bills haven't come out 🙈

I'm filling in my appraisal form and hopefully I can demonstrate everything that's been added to my role.

Some DD's have come out today, the rest tomorrow, together with some SO's for savings. After that what's left is food, petrol and my money.

My appraisal went well, complimentary, but still not grasping how much I'm doing 🤨

Won runner up in the butcher's competition and I got a brief energy boost when I collected my prize after work 😀

It looks like rain may appear, which will save me going outside again and I've flopped on the sofa as I haven't the energy to move. I've had a good run, the weather is now starting to get cooler and I know it's going to be rough until spring comes.

Having steak pie (prize) for tea with homegrown veg, ice cream for pudding.
