I got him 🤗 as my new wheel trims were not delivered they've given me a free service. They've done a lovely job on the detailing. There's undertones of a new car smell and they've put (their) branded car mats in and keyring.
    - I've ordered a different keyring.

I've almost mastered the clutch, gears are a lot closer together than any car I've driven before and an absolute pleasure to drive 😃

Tomorrow TomBo scraps my Kia 😥 but she served us well and hopefully we'll have many happy years in the C1.

    Thanks LW2G
I'm going on a road trip tomorrow, open it up a bit, blow the cobwebs out and see how it handles at higher speeds. I've the mway just down the road.

I am so pleased with it 😃

I've started going through the owners handbook and the car is a higher spec than I thought it was. Main priority is setting the correct time and connecting my phone / 1pod to it, potentially altering the layout of the radio stations. The steering wheel buttons are very useful; mastered them already.

I can see the benefits of a modern car and may be a convert 🤗

    Thanks DIA

I keep looking out the window and seeing both old and new car.
    - It feels strange scrapping old car when I could have repaired her and kept her going for a few more years, even though I've never spent this much money keeping one on the road 🙈

There's been no mention of TomBo asking his mom for a contribution, which suits me, and clearing the finance will be as I've planned.
    - I previously told him how quickly I plan on clearing it.

I'm about to get ready and head out for a few hours. Just planning on hitting the mway, taking a turn off and seeing where it takes me.
    - I am fighting the urge to head to the lower Highlands as I would get plenty of great photos.
    - I will be taking water and my coffee voucher.

    In other news:
    - the baby seagulls are getting bigger. Feathers are starting to turn to the white ones and the parents are even more protective. I'm not able to potter in the garden, only water it.
    - the rabbits are also playing outside a lot too.
    - I've told TomBo what song I would want playing at our wedding, if we ever get married. The local registry office (obviously) has the perfect 'mountain and water' background; I've photographed it often enough 😊

In a couple of days I can move money to savings as it's the start of a new month.

Had we still lived over the otherside we could have got £2k for scrapping the car due to this ULZ car scrappage scheme! We don't and are happy to have £150 for her.
    - she has gone 😢 but served us well 😊

I've covered a fair distance today. The car copes well at 70mph, the mway and country lanes; commuting will be fine.

Cancelled the car insurance. The woman was ever so apologetic they couldn't match the comparison site quote. Needless to say I'm now insured with the same company as that group do have good customer service. £188 and some pennies, paid in full from the car pot.

I'm waiting on car tax refund, car insurance refund and scrap payment; total due back £250 maybe.

Popped to A1DI for the shopping, spent £50 but have steak, pork and chicken, plus loads of other things.

Next task is set up the online finance account, but first it's iced coffee time.

    Thanks Skinty
It was an absolute dream! Handled well, walloped round bends, clung to the roads and is good on petrol 😃

Finance online account set up and I've paid a month off as an O/P. The first payment wasn't due until next payday and I'd earmarked one for this month, made sense to start as I mean to go on.
    - I will make O/Ps each month and save, when the outstanding balance and savings match, then I can clear it, which will be by the end of April at the latest.

TomBo is going to ask his mom for money, but so we can do some work on the flat. I did say we can use savings but he wanted to take his mom up on her offer to help as and when required; I can't blame him and do agree with his logic.

Had pork chops, mash and onion gravy for tea.

It's been raining / drizzling all night, which I'm sure will be appreciated by all the fruit and veg.

Cat decided to rampage round the flat at 4.30am, ending up under the bed and putting her full weight behind bumping up the mattress. I think her normal wake-up call is slightly more polite; sit, stare and breathe until I get up.

Going over the Tay today. There's a shop TomBo wants to visit for shaving soap. I will be having a walk round 0vergate and have picked a couple of shops to look in; a budget toiletries type shop like I used to go in before moving up here and S.Dir3ct for ballerina pumps.

Afterwards we will explore, find a few photogenic spots and stop off for ice cream, maybe even a coffee; taking my voucher.

Tonight we are having Aberdeen Angus steak, with mushrooms, tomatoes and undecided carb.

Hope you all have an enjoyable Saturday!
