Headphones can also really help. Hope you manage to get your pain back under control. Set alarms on your phone for regular meds - I really should do the same. Hope you enjoy the film. I would put those posters up

I'm back, apologies my body just shutdown to make me stop. Unfortunately, by forcing me to sleep that caused more pain and I think it would be nice to have a load of air to sleep on, or a mattress made from cotton wool / marshmallows, even having the duvet on top of me hurt.

I've lost 10lbs, no longer look grey but haven't much colour, as to be expected.

My OH is going to help me have some form of bath / shower later to get me back into the land of the living.

Now it's time for me to try and recover so I can hopefully work from next week.

I've cleaned up my social media profiles and removed the toxic people, should have done it before but it's done now.

My boss is sorting my probation out soon, but it's up in 2 weeks anyway.

Trying to get back to normal and have moved £400 to my AFs, £10 to my car fund and as always I'm waiting for the 1st to move my H2B ISA payment over; then that's everything saved.

What will be, will be about my flat purchase, I can't change whatever will happen. All I can do is keep saving and one time I will get my own place.

  • Sorry to hear you have been so unwell MF. Not sure whether to congratulate you on the weight loss! That’s very scary very fast 😕 Hope you can now start your recovery. x

Have you every tried a memory foam mattress? My friend with a bad back swears by hers.

Wonder what a water bed is like 🤔 😆

    Thank you SYA

I wasn't sure whether to weigh myself, but wanted to know how much potential damage I need to undo. Quite a bit based on how I feel! Or I could view it that I've only another 4.5 stone to go 😂

I've a memory foam topper, got extra duvets put on it too, but it didn't help. I may just have been skin and bones for all the good it did. Normally the topper and mattress are fine, although a new king-size bed and mattress are on the cards; it's only a double as I ordered the wrong one when kitting this flat out.

I doubt a water bed would have been any use as it still would mean lying on it.

Made a bed on my sofa and padded it out with pillows. I'm being supervised by my cat.

I've eaten my leftover soup, will try another tin later.

My sense of humour is starting to return and I will admit I've cried my eyes out the last few days.

I think I'm back in the land of the living. Just taking it one small step at a time. Hoping to 'return' to work tomorrow, that will help give a bit of structure to my day.

Still not eating too well, but appears to be enough to stop me wanting to pass out, even when lying down. I'm still losing weight but hopefully that will slow when I can eat normally.

Haven't much planned today, but have opened all the windows in the flat. There's a clear blue sky which is good to see.

As my OH is a key-worker he is keeping me updated with what's going on outside and at the shops.

The police have blocked off half the parking at the beach down the road, the other half is rammed with cars, loads of crowds at the beach. Shopping appears to be normal again, or maybe just the things we buy are not popular items! Toilet roll, wipes etc are available.

My car insurance is due for renewal towards the end of this month, it's only gone up a couple of quid so will stick with them; I can't risk trying to shop around as I can't phone anyone to say about having the CCJ and my current insurance company are fine with it.

Just need to get the payment to come out of my dedicated car account rather than my regular account; unfortunately the car account doesn't have online facilities to transfer money across else I would do that, it's not an urgent thing so don't want to call the bank or the insurance company to try and do it. I've enough in my normal account to cover it, if need be. Got a few weeks to resolve it and have a proper look at the insurance site to see if I can manually transfer the payment card.

Due to the above I'm not transferring the H2B ISA money over, as that's nearly the amount of my annual insurance; got to love small cars and full NCB 🤭

Hope you are all keeping well x

Glad you are starting to feel better. Do you think you had the virus in the end or something else?
Glad you can resolve the car insurance from savings. Has your flat purchase been put on hold?

Hand on heart, I don't know what I had, most of us will be unable to say whether it was the virus or not.

My purchase is on hold due to Registers of Scotland not being fully electronic. I'm keeping everything crossed that they can get their systems upgraded, that all solicitors move to electronic submissions where possible and that I can keep my mortgage offer going long enough to complete. I've just under 2 weeks left of this offer, I officially pass my probation next week and will not be any further forward 😢

So near, yet so far away!
