I'm using factor 50 in the garden 🙈 I don't think TomBo twigged about buying steak, a BBQ and coal in the same trip 🤭
It's possible you've bought all the chocolate in England, I've everything up here, some of it was safely stored in our tummy yesterday 😃
It was a red curry we had last night, must have been ages since we last had one as TomBo couldn't remember how much paste to use, thankfully I did!
Popping out to give furballs breakfast in a bit, then can go in the garden.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
It's been a glorious day today.
Furballs were fed, then we went to the bread shop (£8.50).
I organised the patio a bit more and did some weeding.
TomBo has managed to lift a bit more of the patio and made a good start on trimming the stump back; it's so that part of the patio will be level all the rest is fine.
This afternoon we helped SIL with her allotment. I need to get a few more things growing for her, will get them started tomorrow as I'm doing a flexi-day.
We had a steak ciabatta sandwich for tea, felt so indulgent and tasted so good.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Could/would TomBo think of setting up his own business gardening?
Ooh nice tea...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

His health wouldn't hold up doing it all day, 5 days a week. He does it in bursts, with lots of breaks and to his own schedule, can't do that if someone is paying.
- I still would prefer him not to be working ever again.

My cat came prowling in to the bedroom at 4am as she wanted breakfast.
I managed to get everything done I wanted to in the office, plus extra things.
TomBo has done the patio today, so that's fully functional again. We sat in the sun when I finished WAH.
The exciting news is (drum roll)
We're borrowing a neighbours garden (No5) for the rest of the year and now we've double the growing space!
TomBo is going to make a start tomorrow and hopefully get it cleared within 2 weeks. I need to get more seedlings on the go and book some long weekends off to make the most of this brief opportunity 😃😃😃

The news about the garden is fantastic! Plenty more things you can grow now which will give you enjoyment and save you money too!Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

I see your point and I hope TomBo can never work again as you hope, but most people choose S/E exactly because they don't want to work all day, 5 days a week, to someone else's schedule.
The extra garden sounds like a great opportunityIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks SW and DIAHe wouldn't be reliable enough to do S/E, nor can he really handle being round people. I've gone through so many different ideas and the only one which would work is literally putting food on the table.
The neighbour has been expecting is to ask as he saw what we were doing in ours, was surprised it took us so long to speak with him 🙈
I've sown more peas, beans, some kale, cucumbers and celeriac. Still got onion family and more root veg to go in to No5. I've also now got space for all the surplus tomato plants!
- I'm treating it as a trial run for when I do get the allotment. If I can cope with both gardens, and tending to two flower gardens, I will cope with the plot when allocated.
Payday seems to be taking ages now I'm waiting to see how much extra I will get.
We had pork chops and couscous for tea, chocolate for pudding; said it that often my phone is predicting it 🤭Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
My head is swimming with figures, numbers and plans, trying to work out the best way forward this month and when I get my normal salary payrise later in the year. So many bits of paper floating around.
As I'm paying off a larger figure on the mortgage this month, and into other accounts, I've done a bit of bank housekeeping to ensure they go through with ease.
Also stressing, sibling is making more unrealistic plans. Not listening to anything, didn't learn from before as they ignored it but knows full well how I struggled to dig myself out. Living the same lifestyle but off dwindling savings as no income, won't claim benefits even though I've sent links.
- it's draining me.
I've got some much needed long weekends coming up, hopefully get a good recharge.

Things with your sibling sound frustrating, you can give someone the tools but you can’t make them use them!Hopefully the long weekends will be a lovely rest3
