One day SW! Takes time and money for us both to get them 😊

Base coat is on the front door, will keep adding layers until it's done, but on schedule to have the hall and porcibule finished this month.

Got survey points converted and cutlery has been ordered from J0hn L3w1s.

Plan for this long weekend is DIY, art painting and potting my strawberry plant.

Had homemade Chinese chicken curry for tea, having melon for pudding.

Oooh sounds like a lovely tea and a lovely weekend!
I love melon but riotdude always gets annoyed when I buy them as we have a small fridge and it takes up so much space

Thanks RL, are we supposed to keep them in the fridge 😯 we seem to spend ages with it sitting on the worktop waiting for it to ripen, then it's eaten within 24 hours.

Placed an order with scr3wf1x last night, had £5 off voucher so added a few extra things in readiness for starting the kitchen.

Did a quick search last night for kitchen ideas as I'm not too keen on painting the worktop. Turns out turquoise cupboards with grey worktops look ok. I've potentially halved the makeover costs needed for paint as the one I'm picking up today is supposed to be really good for what I want to do eg base coat the cupboards and wall tiles.
    - do I get creative with painting the mosaic wall tiles or do a straight colour 🤔

Just finishing off my coffee, then I'm popping out to collect things and will do some more on the porcibule when I get back.

    Yum to HM chicken curry

I am living vicariously through your kitchen plans. I can't wait to have a kitchen of my own.

I was googlin yesterday & saw spray on granite for worktops. Never knew such a thing existed. Not sure if it’s any good.

    Thanks DIA and Skinty
I'm not sure how long lasting changing the worktop colour would be, which is why I've decided against that. I've painted a kitchen before and know that will last for a good few years. I have to be very careful with paints and sprays because of my cat.

Got second coat on the front door and frame, first coat on the window frame above it. Put the second coat on the walls TomBo did. I'm hoping to get the porcibule finished this weekend, next weekend I can make a start on the glossing.
Need to bite the bullet, get up ladders and redo the ceiling where he covered it in colour, if he didn't rush to do it, there wouldn't be the extra work ☹️

Spent £27 in A1DI, but that included a full-size incinerator.

    Moved some money to savings.

Having beef and mushrooms for tea, melon for pudding, yoghut for snacks.

Well done on painting, shopping for food and saving. Your food sounds lovely, good luck with the ceiling.

Sorry to hear you have extra work to cover the ceiling. Sometimes I think it’s easier to do it yourself first time 😆 it’s why I do all the painting myself rather than get DS & his gf to “help”. Maybe I am too much of a perfectionist/ control freak 🤦‍♀️

    Thanks SW and Skinty
The only reason I didn't do it is I've lost my head for heights, or possibly just these ladders. I'm more than happy to stand on the kitchen worktops or another large platform.

TomBo is going to rearrange the bedroom so the bed is at the other end and away from the window. Should be a little quieter when the cars hurtle by at 4am. I suggested holding off and waiting til we get the new bed frame for the middle, but he's adamant.

Sadly, he feels like he's let me down by not keeping his job and doesn't feel like what he does at home is enough to make up for not working. I think he does loads, especially outside and the physical work I cannot do.

Guys are wired differently in some ways. It's great that you can reassure TomBo.
The work on the house is going brilliantly :)
