  • I have pork today. I am putting the meat in the slow cooker & am throwing away the crackling instead of cooking it. 😱 I love crackling but I know if I cook it I will eat it all! No willpower here 😆

  • Thanks SW, SH and Skinty
I am pleased to be painting, doing some more in a bit.

I'm back on track with eating, due to monitoring it. As always having it written down works well for me. TomBo offered me a biscuit, I checked cals, scanned the wrapper and it only put me slightly over my 1000 cals!
    - I'm contemplating swapping semi-skimmed to skimmed for my smoothie, will give it a try and see how I get on before making my final decision.

I would always eat all the crackling as it wasn't TomBo's thing. Such a waste, but I walked away from it 😬

So far I've had 3 naps since getting up!

  • It's lovely and sunny, the windows have been open all day.
Had 2 naps and a sleep this morning.

This afternoon TomBo has been baking. I managed to sneak in and make small breakfast bites as I thought they would be nice the mornings I have coffee for breakfast. Ingredients are pretty much the same as my smoothie but with a bit of fruit and chopped nuts. Still very low in cals.

Now we do have a gas oven, we've put it through its paces and know it's near enough on temperature with the gas mark, it's fine to start baking again on a regular basis. Cheaper than buying and I can tweak things to reduce cals, change flavour as required.

£7 in the bank, £2 earmarked for bank fee, 5 days until payday.

Having pasta for tea, homemade merengue for pudding. Coming in at 1024 cals today.

Glad you are underway with the painting and prioritiaing some you time.
Sounds like your diet is going really well, I must try to do something myself and might look into the App you mentioned.
I am sure you will smash your survey goal. I like having an aim of how much I can make as it gives me a bit more of a push when I'm bored of surveys.
    Not long til payday now.

  • Things are progressing well, Babs, its taken me ages to catch up!  :) Really impressed that you are scheduling hobbies into your routine. Something I neglect to do.... definitely think we all need that winding down time to take us away from whatever is going on around us.

  • Thank you SW, SH, LW2G and Ren
    TomBo came pre-trained, a self-confessed bachelor.

I think I'm ill as there's lots of strange things going on, hence the naps and sleeps, or I'm just exhausted, which is probably the reasons for the strangeness.

The app is great, I don't pay for premium as the free version is enough to keep me on track. I'm answerable to something when it's written down.

I may rethink my survey target, but I want a few months to see if it's consistent or just luck; I had already smashed it when I set it, hence deciding to set a target.

We all need us and hobby time, all too often 'we' disappear in our lives.

Got blue sky, sun and open windows again today.
