Basically Eon sent a letter saying that there were price hikes on the way and that we had 14 days to notify them if we wished to change or they would put up the prices on the tariff.
Just checked the plan were are on and there are no get out fees, so hopefully i will be ok??
It should just mean you are paying the higher Eon prices (if they come in before you leave) for a few days before your switch finally goes through as there are no cancellation fees etc.0 -

Hi justmi
Just thought I would let you know; you have a little more time than 14 days to tell us you wish to change supplier as a result of our price increase.
Basically, we need to know within 20 working days of receiving the letter about the new prices that you wish to leave. We then need to receive the notice of transfer from the new supplier within 15 working days of you letting us know.
This is detailed on page 2 of the letter advising of the new prices.
If you do this, you will not suffer from the price increase.
Hope this is helpful justmi. Let me know if I can help further as will be happy to do so.

Hi Malc
As you work for Eon can you tell me what plan I'm on ? I'm trying to compare prices with other suppliers but my plan ( EnergyOnline with no other number ) is not listed ! Eon have just moved me onto this as my previous plan ended on 1st Feb. I know eon do not allow cashback switches from some sites so is this another ploy to prevent me comparing ?0 -
Hi cairndog
EnergyOnline is our basic online account. It's based on our standard rates with a flat discount of 10 per cent regardless of the region.
Like all our online products, this plan requires payment by Direct Debit and management through our website.
When fixed tariffs end, we write to customers advising of the end date and suggesting they contact us to discuss alternatives.
We also direct customers to our website to see the options currently available.
If we do not hear from a customer and they do not change tariff/supplier, their account is automatically put on to EnergyOnline once their existing agreement ends.
However, there are no cancellation fees with EnergyOnline and customers can change supplier at any time.
I would pop your details on to one of the comparison sites and see all the tariffs available, both with us and the other suppliers.
Just checked a couple of the sites and EnergyOnline is listed on both.
A quick heads up, though, cairndog; we don't give discount on final bills when changing supplier. Therefore, you might want to time a move away to lessen the impact of this.
Hope this is useful. Give me a shout if you need any more details as will be happy to help.

Hi, my Online S@ver Version 5 with EDF is coming to an end on March 31st.
I have run through the comparison sites, and found Scottish Power's Online Energy Saver 12 Dual fuel to be the cheapest option.
Simply Switch give the best quote for it, and they say, "You won't find this tariff cheaper anywhere else, even direct from Scottish Power".
Is this, then, my best option? Quidco are giving a better cashback than SS (£62, rather than £35 of Amazon vouchers - I would use the vouchers, so that equates to £35 cash).
Is it better to go through Simply Switch? Their estimate for my annual usage is £1799.60, Scottish Power through Quidco using the same figures is £2098.91.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.0 -
I note from looking at the Utilities pages today that this article was last updated at the end of November last year - Does anyone know if this is this due an update shortly?
Thanks

I've found the cheapest package for me via Moneysupermarket, who offer £30 for switching. But Quidco have £50 cashback on this particular tariff - is there any way I can claim both? As far as I can tell they both work by clicking a referrer link, which means I could only claim one, but thought it was worth checking if anyone had a cunning means to claim through more than one route before I sign up.0

...Simply Switch give the best quote for it, and they say, "You won't find this tariff cheaper anywhere else, even direct from Scottish Power"...
Do not be confused by the wording.
It is true you won't find it cheaper anywhere else.
But you won't find it any more expensive anywhere else either!"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
