  • Hi,

I used moneysavingexpert site to request a switch to npower as came up on energyhelpline as most money saving as I have never switched before, but am now VERY worried as I have been checking all other forums and recommendations and it seems that most people have had nothing but trouble and advise to stay clear of this company as their customer service and billing procedure is pants.

    Thanks GTG, brilliant help!

    My pleasure.

Just a small point while I'm here, I can see from your "post count" (displayed under your username) that your new here so your probably not aware of what I'm about to say.

You can thank posters for their help without having to post a reply by clicking on the "Thanks" button (displayed in the bottom right corner of their post alongside "Quote"). This will then add to the posters record shown under that posters name so everyone can see at a glance how helpful that poster has been in the past. It is of course also nice to post a thank you message as you have so kindly done.

    Good luck with your switch.

  • How often can one switch energy suppliers during the course of the year? Has anyone switched quite a few times in the same year to take advantage of cashback offer's etc.?
  • I have looked at all the recommended switching sites and they all suggest that the most savings that I can make is with Npower. I am already a Npower customer! Am confused! Any suggestions?!

Maybe they are suggesting a different tarrif with Npower?
You can do this and save money, but I don't think you'll get the cashback for doing it.

I switched to e-on on the 15 February using moneysupermarket.com

I'm happy with the switch however I've heard nothing about my £30 from moneysupermarket.com. Having had a quick read it seems I maybe shouldn't be surprised.

What is my best course of action?

seems like this is a quiet board...

re. the post above does anyone have any experience / advice as to wether it's best to contact supermarket.com by email or phone?

    erm...

It's a sticky thread (that's what the pins are for) so is always at the top of the board!

Have you looked on (any) moneysupermarket FAQ's regarding cashback? Most cashback schemes I know of can take between 60 and 90 days from switch to go through.

 I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

I was disappointed to find that I had to spend £80 with Virgin wines to claim my £40 voucher. This wasn't made clear and I would have gone to Moneysupermarket and got £30 cashback. Virgin always give away £40 vouchers off their wine.

I have just spoken with CS @ moneysupermarket.com and they have confirmed I will be paid £30 in June - 120 days after the referral. They were very helpful and I think it's a good outcome.

I was surprised that I'd had no email correspondence from them. They said that was normal.
