OOh, Sue, exciting news!! Fingers crossed for an easy birth for DGD.  It's especially lovely whenever we hear good news these days.
Yes, Sue, we are taking extra care.  We only venture to the shops when we absolutely have to.  Our social life consists solely of visiting the allotment right now!  Zoe & the family live in an area under local lockdown at the moment and she  is fanatical about cleaning. She gets their food using click and collect to minimise contact with others.  The biggest risk is from SiL's work contacts (he's a manager/production planner) and he's worked all through the pandemic, but there's also a risk from school too.  One teacher has already tested positive along with several students  :#
Antomac, I can't believe how abusive people are becoming either.  There's absolutely no need to take out frustration on staff who are trying to keep us all safe.  It's a sad world right now.
Jakes-mum, I hope you are all ok after such a sad time.  Bereavement is hard at the best of times but right now it's even worse.
    Stay safe everyone x

  • Thanks everyone for the lovely comments about Millie’s return.  She’s getting better all the time and has eaten quite a lot today and is now sitting up some of the time instead of just laying there.  I have potted £10.15 today as I emptied all purses.  I did put £6 to one side for pocket money and the tooth fairy who made a return visit earlier this week so that should be October sorted out.  I’m sorry to say that I’ve been looking at Christmas stuff online.  I need to order advent calendars, ordinary calendar and a diary before they all go too!  I normally get most things online due to always having my son with me but this year it’s because the shops aren’t nice ☹️  Sadly I’m not surprised by what Ant told us; I just don’t understand some people.

  • Hetty, I think lots of us will be ordering online for Christmas. The shops are definitely not nice right now :( I'm so glad Millie is picking up, she must have had quite a traumatic time.
I've sold a few books to Ziffit so £7.20 to pot this week. It will all help....
Sue, I hope you have some good news to report? :)
    Stay safe everyone x

Well today I made £170 in sales from bits and pieces from dear uncles flat, it was horrible for me and DH to be sifting through and selling his things but I know he would be looking down on us going 'Make sure you get every brass penny you can girl!', he always liked to find stuff he could turn into a few bob bless him.  PLus every time we remove something it becomes less his home and more 'the flat' if you see what I mean?
He was also a 'potter' he had a huge plastic tub covered in red electrical tape with a hole cut in the top, he would put all his coppers, 5p's and 10p's in it and then give it to me to count up and then split the money between my kids, it only came to about £12 each but it was one of his quirks that will remain with me
I have brought his pot home and I am going to carry on potting the same coins in it from the new potting year, it keeps him close to me.
SO yes, £70 in the pot today, the other £100 is still in the bank as the buyer did a bank transfer but i'll get that out this week and add it in.
P.S so pleased your cat came home Hetty!
