Afternoon Potters
Hugs to all those with woes and smiles to all those who haven't! I'm still ticking along here. Work seems to have picked up pace again for the moment and I must say, it's lovely to be busy. We are still not permitted to drive outside our local area but, fingers crossed, that is going to be lifted next Monday. I'm so looking forward to seeing DD and DSIL in the flesh, even if we do have to sit in the garden in the rain. My MIL and FIL are still shielding and are very wary about going out, so it may be some time before they feel confident enough to meet up with us, but, as long as long as they are happy and safe, I am happy too. My pot IOU is now at £80.00 - I hope I get to the bank before opening day
Take care of yourselves, remember the mantra - no kissing, no hugging, no standing too close, oh, and no singing in company either (apparently this is one of the rules )What a funny world we are living in

A very Good Morning Potters!
I hope everyone's doing well and looking ahead to the weekend.
For anyone who is ill or feeling low in any way, do get well soon. Meanwhile, all best wishes to you.Hello jakes-mum, and thanks so much for your kind words, I'm just hoping the ankle won't take too long but months doesn't sound great not in summer!I'm still stunned in reading that your young lass managed to presumably, get the inside of her hands sunburned! 😲 I can only imagine she must have had her arms above her head! Whatever the case I sum things up with the knowledge that you're her Mum - case solved!! 😂🤣Very nicely done in getting 5 x £2 coins! What a great postie chap!Ah there you are siju! For you it's late so I was a little concerned. It's good to hear you've been busy, and are now hopefully looking forward to opening up more from Monday onwards!I'll bet you're excited beyond belief at being in the company of your DD & DSIL once again! I take it your DS is still away.So long as your DMIL & DFIL are safe and happy in remaining shielding then that's all that matters. Hopefully, further down the track we'll all feel a lot more confident, though I hold no store in that. 😔You and I both have roughly the same amount of IOU build up, though I'll be happier when it's actual money, but one day!Hello Lost, good to see you again too. I must admit to having done as you thought some of us might, but what else does one do in these weird times we live in. 😊 Excellent work in saving!! 👏Well my DH and our wonderful neighbour have just arrived back from the little town a few miles away with our new washing machine. Sadly, the bearings went on the other one. Everything was set for yesterday, BUT we were badly let down by Ar!os who just didn't bother in the end!!!! 😡Maddening to say the least, but a joy to see the lads coming passed the window just a minute ago.Have a relaxing evening and a WONDERFUL WEEKEND everyone, and stay healthy!SueNB folks: Opening date for SPC 13 is 29th October 2020.Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late!So please just ask and you will be made very welcome

Good morning good people,
The usual small amount potted for me this week. So relieved to get a haircut yesterday, although it feels strange without all that hair. Was also good to see my barber again. He talks a load of nonsense, which is why we get on so well!Good health and happiness to you all. a few 'P's potted for me this week. As shops are getting slightly back to normal I have been trying to use cash again to give my poor card a break!!
I hope everyone is well.

Oh AntoMac, I'm so looking forward to seeing my hairdresser, I just hope we'll be able to talk nonsense too! We generally have a great time together.
Thank you for your concern Sue-UU, we are absolutely fine. I'm hoping to see DD and DSIL next weekend for a socially distanced dinner and then DS and his fiancee (they got engaged in lockdown) are planning on visiting us in August, all Covid things being well...... I don't like having to pick a child for my bubble, but DD is not at all offended as DS lives further away and will have to stay. We are planning on a visit to MIL and FIL later this week - we will take 2 chairs and sit on their drive to chat so hopefully they will feel comfortable with that. Funny you should mention Ar!os, MIL told me yesterday that they had bought a sofa from them earlier in the year and it has now broken. She spent several hours on their online chat yesterday but with no success. Speaking to a person doesn't seem to be an option these days. It sounds like you've had a lucky escape. Enjoy your new machine
As far as my pot is concerned, it's another week so another £5 will be added to my total. We may venture to our local town for the first time later this week and go to the bank. I have a cheque from the electric board that has been here since the beginning of April, so it would be very nice to put it in the bank! If we do go, I will withdraw some cash to feed my very hungry little pot.
Take care folks xxSPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.835 -
A very Good Morning SPCers!
I hope you all had a super weekend, a lovely Monday too.
For anyone who is ill or feeling low in any way, do get well soon. Meanwhile, all best wishes to you.Good to know you've had your hair and beard cut again, Ant, no doubt a great deal of folk are relieved of their overgrown locks or soon will. It'll be good to see Boris without that shaggy mop of hair, although there's barely any difference between his hair normally!Well done on what you've saved!Good for you in saving some cash, 32b3. I think I'll still be sticking to my IOU sheet and keeping clear of cash at least for a while.I'm so pleased you have visits from your offspring very shortly, siju. Many congratulations to your DS and his Fiance! 💕 They'll never forget when their engagement happened!A very good idea with visiting your FIL & SIL, I know our DD & SIL have done exactly the same with SIL's parents, it makes a huge difference.Fingers crossed for your bank visit. So, DH & I aren't the only ones experiencing problems with Ar!os, it took us 38 minutes to ring and actually speak to someone, disgraceful! How awul for your in-laws to have their sofa break so swiftly after buying it, shocking!!Well, I DH & I had our FIRST HUG from our DD yesterday!!!! 💕 It seemed to last for ages and was truly wonderful! She's been through a heck of a lot recently with her MS and it's been so hard not being able to hug her, but now thank God we can! 🥰 She still has a long way to go in deciding which of the 2 horrible drugs to go on, but they're vital to hopefully stop any more lesions from going on her brain stem or she won't be able to walk anymore. Fingers crossed from here on.Enjoy the rest of the day and a LOVELY WEDNESDAY everyone, and stay healthy!SueNB folks: Opening date for SPC 13 is 29th October 2020.Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late!So please just ask and you will be made very welcome

Hello! Managed to pot £2.55. Things have been quiet recently and just plodding along as the new normal. I’ve had a quote for replacing the flat roofs over the dormers. It was cheaper than I’d expected and the guy actually did them 21 years ago; he told me who for and it was who I’d bought from. He’s done 3 of my neighbours and is booked up until the beginning of August so I feel confident in his work. I’ve got my son a haircut booked.........in 3 weeks time! He’s gone from looking like a slightly long haired Beetle to looking more like a girl as he’s got the most glorious thick, wavey black hair. Looks like I won’t be back in the office until October at the earliest. I work in a non student facing department so we will be last back to campus ☹️SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)6

Evening potterssssssssssssss
Today saw 2 x £2 coins in the pot and a couple of silver ones in the shrapnel tin too! DH decided he HAD to have the new Nvidia Shield tv thingy (we already had the old one *rolls eyes ) so I have spent the last 2 days selling all his other man carp on FB to pay for itSo he's happy with his new toy and i'm happy that it hasn't cost me anything.
DS is finally back at work (YAY!!!) it feels like we are finally getting back to something slightly resembling normality. Love him dearly, but there is really only so much 19 year old a mother can deal with in one goplus im also saving a few quid as he's eating at work instead of munching through my cupboards 24 hrs a day cos he's bored
just need the other one to return to school and all will be as it should be!
Talking of DS, somehow (and I truly have no idea how!) I managed to not only be talked into subbing him for a new car, but also his insuranceIt started out with me spotting him £250, suddenly i'm owed nearly £3k!
little so and so knows just how to talk his mother round! We do keep reminding him that the money used was from DH's cancelled birthday trip, just so he knows just what he's got

The usual Groundhog Day small potting for me this week but it all adds up.
jakes-mum - I have a 17 y/o can relate a lot to what you’re saying. Going back to work has been great for her too, and she’s so excited about learning to drive, getting a car etc. She does actually have quite a lot of savings that thankfully she doesn’t know about (otherwise she wouldn’t have quite a lot of savings!) but it’s still going to be a massive cash burner when it happens.
Hettyhound Finding the same person that did your work all those years ago suggests he knows what he’s doing which is always reassuring. As for your boy’s haircut, one of my daughter’s friends had his first haircut for a YEAR last week!Sue UU - You bear your difficulties with such good grace and still think of all of us. You really are a kind person.
Be good everyone - and as my old friend Julian says, if you can’t be good be careful!27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 56
