XSpender - shame about your interview being cancelled. Hope all goes well when it does happen.

Ditty - I find that when I spend a lot of (unnecessary) time online or in front of a screen, then I inevitably feel just generally dissatisfied and meh. So I try to take the next day off as much as poss.

I had plans for the day but then mum phoned. She's not very well so I'm back there and planning to stay overnight. All plans on hold.

Today I am grateful for taxis, for having most of what I needed to hand and for not getting wet.

Our nearest little town had a Christmas market yesterday and it was really busy even though it was raining. I bought a few items in the charity shops, tried to get my Ecover laundry detergent filled but the shop is waiting for an order and ate some chips with DH by the river.

It is raining today, we were going to Harrogate to do some 'proper' shopping so that I could get the last few gifts I need but I think we will wait for a dry Sunday. I need to return something to Next though so I will be nipping out later.

The big feed is over £5.61 left in account - the £5 will go to uni son's MO-vember. Stocked up on toilet paper, tins of stuff, tissue and other essential things that only really seem essential when you run out. And now walk w ds and dog - it's a good day.

  • I don't much like days today where it never gets light. I realise I'm very lucky not to be underwater as some parts of the uk are, but there's a lot of standing water out there and it's been raining fairly solidly for days now. Brings the mood down a little.
Anyway, I have had a busy and productive weekend so far. Yesterday was a massively spendy day, with me and both kids getting our hair done (and dd having highlights as part of her Christmas presents) and a top up shop at Mr S while I was picking up a gift I'd ordered for ds. I did about 3 hours of school work as well as a bit of stuff round the house and ended up feeling like I'd done nothing.
So far today, I've done another 3 hours of school work and an hour of tutoring. Washed the car and put the rubbish and recycling out. The ongoing war on fleas is still happening and I'm just about to sit down with dd and look at getting a bit of C related stuff done. I realise the devil is in the detail with the presentation of home made gifts so I need to get on with some of that. And my gin needs bottling. I have a big list, but am home for the day and will definitely not be spending.
Mothernerd - I hope your mam is ok.

Have been out with the kids and DH to our favourite town. Have spent on some cracking items in the charity shops, local retailers for lunch and also bought oats, cacoa nibs, nuts and banana chips at the zero waste shop. I think of all the places we visit this little town has the most independent retailers of anywhere else I've been, it is a fab place, there are only a couple of high street chains there.

Am taking the dog for a walk with DH this afternoon then a light tea and prep for tomorrow.

Mothernerd - Hope your Mum is feeling better.

A bit of a quiet day today. Been using bits and bobs to make a spaghetti sauce and a few other things have been used up. Amended this week's meal plan to use some other bits.

Hope to catch up with some other tasks tomorrow.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
