Mothernerd - missing you!
I agree with you about the store opening hours, I used to like the cmas late night opening on a Thursday which I think was till 9pm, before DH and I had kids I used to get the bus straight from work one Thursday in December into Leeds and it felt special, we don't have that anymore, everything seems to be available all the time.facethemusic wrote: »Half way check in. NSDs are going well, today is 10/15, so my aim of 15 that I didn't think was possible is looking likely. No items out of the house today but sitting at 34/60 so if I keep plodding I might make it.
Fresh air has been breathed every day, this is a fairly easy thing for me as the dog always needs to go out, and there's only me to take her! It's very muddy and wet now though and dark so early walks do tend to be shorter and less enjoyable at this time of year.
No toiletries bought and I'm slowly using bits up, the only cleaning thing I've bought was washing tablets and they were needed not adding to a stash. I'm going to try and keep this up to free up a cupboard shelf that's storing extra bottles of shampoo etc.
Charity donations made, added to today with "pjs to school day" for children in need.
I may not be posting gratitudes daily, but I do like the idea of seeing good in the little things, and love reading everyone elses!
Budgets are on track, transferred an extra £100 to a saving account, may have to take it "back" but it'll earn a higher interest for as long as I can leave it there.
Today's gratitudes are that my getting older dog coped well with a small surgery today, my family have all phoned to check in on how my furry baby is doing, and that I finally decided to post on here and properly join in this month.
I like it when the weather is very cold in winter and everything is frozen solid and the dog comes back from his walks clean.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Nsd 9 done. I am out of bread, filled the tank yesterday though. Will need to spend tomorrow, so I am holding off.
I am still in my pjs at 11am on a Saturday. How lazy do I feel!
I am fretting myself into immobility, but I have books to read and food in the cupboards and it is helping with NSDs:money: and the building fund is growing, as I am....simply ....not ... spending .... any...thing that is not on the list or an immediate essential. I am even staying out of charity shops in case I spend anything.
Tomorrow is planned outing day - I am going into town to buy things step-gran has requested, and will post on Monday with stamps I have in already.
£2 cinema tickets bought, I will be out from 12 - 8ish. Deserting my family and pretending to be a grown up type person.
At the risk of repeating myself. brrrrrr!
Gratitudes:
We are all well and healthy,
I know what I need to be doing, even if I am not doing it.
That I have books to read as the tv is so dire the radio is on most nights instead
Candles and HP twinkly lights

Still on NSD No 10
Collected the remainder of the Boy's medication from the chemist and got some eye drops for myself whilst I was there. My eyes have been itching for days and, of course, I've been rubbing them which has only made them worse. Not quite sure what's causing it.
Did a small shop whilst we were out. Mainly vegetables. Made a fish pie for dinner.
Haven't really decluttered anything today but I know there are things in the cupboard under the kitchen sink which have to go.
Right now Himself is watching the rugby and I'm relaxing with a glass of wine. Well, it is Saturday after all.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Go on 2 outings - 1 done so far 1 possibly planned for Sunday afternoon
Donate £5 or time to charity - lots of 'things' donated to various places. Money donated to poppy appeal, CIN & Gloucester Cathedral. Have some things ready to send with DS2 to school for food bank as they are running a collection at the end of this month
Come on here every day and post 3 things you are grateful for. - a very easy going eldest son, a lie in (still feeling weird with no appetite), getting stuff sorted, a friend liking a site on fbook which caught my eye and has some fab stuff on in the sale so will get my mum something
Start 1 or 2 new habits this month, ones that are simple and will make you feel better - fewer cups of tea and min 4 f&v per day - not eaten much again today -small wrap for lunch and no breakfast.

Afternoon everyone, hope you are well. Halfway through the month and I’m feeling a bit, fed upish, not sure why. I guess everything seems such a hard slog at the moment. Anyway, enough of being fed upish, had a lovely morning my with my nephew today. We nipped into town to fill our shoe box for the samaritan purse charity, have to say we did get a bit carried away, the boxes are full to bursting!!! Spent more than planned too but it’s for such a good cause.
Unfortunately we did partake in a Greggs coffee and bacon sarnie whilst we were out.......
Things I’m grateful for today: spending precious time with my nephews, doing a workout, even though I didn’t feel like it! Still eating my free food from yesterday.
Have a lovely weekend everyone xxxx0 -
Good to hear from you mothernerd. I didn't think you'd gone away on a jaunt!
Toni'sfriend - I get dry and itchy eyes when I've been inside more than usual (esp with the heating on) or when I've not drunk enough water.
Today I am grateful for sleeping late, for dragging dd and dh to some ch shops and finding a few bits (esp a coat for my mum who is rather rotund but only about 4'10'' now, about a size 16, with a hood), for a working wash machine, for crafting time, for leftovers to make tea, for a sparkly car after dh washed it yesterday, for my jama trousers to slob around in, for dealing with a frog (only a tadpole really, but if I leave it long enough it grows into a whopper).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Feel very relieved today as I've done a shed load of Xmas shopping that needed to get done. A huge frog off my back. Haven't gone crazy but I'm just glad to have got it done.
Overall has been a good day, started with boxing class this morning then popped to the shops to do some Xmas shopping. Also bought lip balm and a thank you card for my Personal Trainer. Came home, had a bath, did lots of cleaning and other jobs around the house, cleaned the aquarium and just generally tidied up. Have spent the last few hours sorting out some photos and putting them in scrapbooks. That has been on my to do list for MONTHS! Ran out of sticky bits so will have to come back to that job another time.
Off out this evening for a drink with a friend, but I'll be driving as it's the middle of nowhere and don't want to pay for a taxi. Plus I'm not a big drinker anyway so it's not a big deal for me. Not looking forward to the cold but it'll be nice to see my friend for a bit and be sociable given I am prone to preferring my own company and cancelling plans.0 -

Thanks, Apple. I have been indoors all week and the heating has been on so that is probably the cause. Eye drops seem to be soothing and I'll certainly start drinking more water. I haven't been drinking as much as I usually do.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Well not in a listy mood but realised almost a bit tearful how long it's been since anybody made me dinner while I sat on the couch - grateful for ds having made a full recovery after his fall, he has now done enough training that he feels back where he was - sizewise - so is in a relaxed and giving mood. Lovely. Also grateful for walk w friend who had major (life changing) surgery, but is now happy, relaxed and on the road to a full recovery.
About using up toiletries - I bought the 2 for 3 deal in Tesc0 - so now have hairgoo for the next year, all the whilst having successfully depleted our stock of toilet paper!
Took out cash so I have change for swimming Tuesday and a propper trolleyshop soon.
There will be no outings tomorrow as everything is cancelled, the river is too dangerous for the race my ds was signed up for. So it will be me doing a drawing.
Habits - have waisted a great deal of time on computer for the last day or so, and have been a bit de-sillusioned so have not been particularly carefull.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
