Half way through the month!
Budget - still on target!
NSDs - I'm now on 7/15. So roughly half way, half way through the month
Paid money into my savings and paid my credit card bill off early. I've been rounding down my balance to the nearest pound each day and potting the change in a pingit jar for extra savings
Make do/ Mend/ Do without - fixed my favourite cereal bowl! Did not manage to get stain out of favourite item of clothing. Will give it one more try.
avoid every chain coffee shop and vending machine and corner shop - don't drink coffees so that's fine. I'd rather go to the corner shop and support a small business rather than going to the big supermarkets though - not that I've been to any this month.
lunch to work not been strict enough with myself but I've taken lunch in more often than not.
remove 60 items from your house (2 per day) – I'm over half way. Going to de-ice the freezer tonight so that will be another thing gone if that counts???
use up your toiletries and household cleaners before buying any more - on track
2 outings - On track
tread lightly - been walking to work every day.
donate £5 or time to a charity you support - completed today, we had a collection bucket at work so donated another £2 - for trusselltrust
come on here every day and post three things you are grateful for - A comfortable and supportive bed for my aching back; my fantastic colleagues who make it a pleasure to go into work everyday; my pet cat for keeping me company when home alone.
Reach out to help other people - this is a big part of my job role, but I have also reached out to BiL for Xmas plans and to see how he's doing, some strangers in the street who needed help, seen a few friends and had them come over for dinner, spoke to my siblings who live away.
1 or 2 new habits fizzy drinks is my main one this month, still going okay. tomorrow (a weekend day in work) will be a struggle.Save £12k in 2022 = £3705.97/ £7,500 (49%)

Hello
Today I am grateful for my new fluffy blanket and feeling cosy on the sofa, the prospect of an early night and a long lie in tomorrow and not having to bring any work home.
It's been a busy but ultimately rewarding week at school this week - my form class are finally starting to grow on me, and I have been very proud of them. I was shattered when the 3pm bell went today - I've gotten home, had a quick shower and am in my nightie under my comfy blanket on the sofa. It won't be the end of the world if I fall asleep here.
Not much money to spend so not much spent - the festivities really are starting to feel uncomfortably close now though and I still need a few more things for ds.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Today I am grateful for not having to go to work (and I did remember to brush my hair!), for a nice chat with the lady on the till at aldee - their cmastime opening hours are just their normal hours plus they are closed for cmas and boxing days, which I think is ace, for getting much for my money for the foodbank, for having somewhere dry and warm to go to after being out in cold rain, for getting a suitcase + 4 boxes of books and dvds to 0xfam, for clearing space to use my sewing machine, for dd willingly doing plenty of hwk.

Sorry apple. The past two days have been a bit of a washout. I want to do more on the days I am here rather than at mum's but some days I just sleep.
In addition to the allergic reaction and the bramble scrapes I have acquired two insect bites on my right bicep and despite covering them with ointment every hour they kept me awake and have both started to spread - their position means that any slight activity (even typing like this) spreads the poison.
Half month review goes:-
Budgets food money spent (mainly on those two). Doing the best I can with frozen fish and veg and tinned pulses and allowig myself the odd bit from the ys shelf. Travel is good and diy untouched - found a small tin of paint on the shelf which will do the old garden chairs.
Savings and bank balance improving (after an early panic)
Meals need to implement plans and find a usable corner of the kitchen (still dealing with the laundry from last weekend - in the garden, on the radiators including many socks on the bathroom towel rail, and anywhere else I can put it)
Things going out of the house Lots of rubbish has gone, some cs items and lots to the food bank. Have a few radical ideas but it means lots of furniture shifting (better use of limited resources and gets some things nearer the back door). I did put out the old computer tower from their room this week (only possible when the floor had been cleared, still had to hop it over several trailing wires).
Some embroidery and craft use ups - old permanent markers being used to add/ restore colour to mum's garden ornaments. Half a plan to do some baking/ crafts with various junior members of the extended family but waiting to see if I am well.
Toiletries and cleaners Not been keeping score but lots being used up. Found a solitary sachet of colour run remover which will be used on oe of the large towels
Outings fun week ahead. Lights switch on (fireworks) is this coming Thursday but I will be watching from my bed (fireworks are set up on the car park and my bedroom overlooks it - I have a better view than the 'VIPs' who watch from the flat roof on the town hall extension. Reindeer parade is on Sunday 24th with 'meet the reindeers' after.
Film club is on the 29th and Carol Service at mum's church is on the 30th. There is also a 'Maker's Market' at the local church on the 30th but not sure if that would be too much temptation.
Fresh air need to do better on this but Tuesday was a bit much
Reach out left a note for the neighbour to tell him about his back wall and he stopped me at little Arseda to chat about it - I knew he wasn't well enough to do it. Emptied soil from my green bin (dumped by stupid neighbours) and have not remonstrated with them. Phoned DS1 when something came up on facebook and suggested taking them for a meal.
Healthy habits focus is on losing weight and employing many 'habits' to help with this - more planning, eating slowly, trying to stop emotional eaiting, combat stress, tracking sleep, food, spending, what happened during the day and what my mood was/ how I reacted.
Have spent more than I planned to on Beloved and d-i-l but much less on the boys. I was banned from buying gifts for darling daughter in law and Beloved for many years and d-i-l's gifts include something brought back from a holiday this time last year and a replacement for the present she didn't get last year. Our planned meet up didn't happen and Ds2 spotted the hot sauces (DS1) and gin mixers (d-i-l) in february and cadged them.
My hip was 5 years old on the 13th but DS3 said hips did not have birthdays (or cake).
Today I am grateful for my bed (which never lets me down), for bite cream (not working 100% but soothing for a while) and easy food. Not feeling festive so have carried on with wrapping (several things from Beloved's wish list arrived today). Used all the holographic paper, started on the last roll of red with white snowflakes (I have brown paper if that runs out).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

NSDs - still on 7/15.
Lunch to work - day off today.
Items removed - 28/60, another perfume bottle gone.
Use up - 1 hand cream now used up, 3 to go.

Evening all
Catching up from the last few days - lovely reading all the posts and the gratitude posts are really humbling. Thank you.
Today I am grateful for:
1. The energy and motivation to get all of my housework done
2. For living somewhere where everything is at hand
3. For my good health and everything I have
Busy week at work, but managed to slip in an exercise session after work. Have been slowly running the cupboards down and needing to get rid of all the junk food (sweets mainly!) I seem to have amassed, and slowly replace with healthier snacks.
Family day tomorrow, and Sunday a rest day. Big hugs to everyone x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Half way check in. NSDs are going well, today is 10/15, so my aim of 15 that I didn't think was possible is looking likely. No items out of the house today but sitting at 34/60 so if I keep plodding I might make it.
Fresh air has been breathed every day, this is a fairly easy thing for me as the dog always needs to go out, and there's only me to take her! It's very muddy and wet now though and dark so early walks do tend to be shorter and less enjoyable at this time of year.
No toiletries bought and I'm slowly using bits up, the only cleaning thing I've bought was washing tablets and they were needed not adding to a stash. I'm going to try and keep this up to free up a cupboard shelf that's storing extra bottles of shampoo etc.
Charity donations made, added to today with "pjs to school day" for children in need.
I may not be posting gratitudes daily, but I do like the idea of seeing good in the little things, and love reading everyone elses!
Budgets are on track, transferred an extra £100 to a saving account, may have to take it "back" but it'll earn a higher interest for as long as I can leave it there.
Today's gratitudes are that my getting older dog coped well with a small surgery today, my family have all phoned to check in on how my furry baby is doing, and that I finally decided to post on here and properly join in this month.0 -
After all my interview prep it was cancelled due to illness! Had some good feedback on what I had prepped so feeling quietly confident.
Budget - I have had to do some shuffling in order to buy some work jumpers for DH due to no heating at work , some joggers for DS, he will keep growing, and a naughty couple of decorative bits for the newly decorated living room although 1 of those is going back along with 4 tins of paint
Pay to Debts/Savings first another CC DD gone out and I have downloaded some free debt and saving templates to use when I have a job for 2020 and can go into full attack mode
15 NSDS 0/15 I am still a NSD free zone
Avoid Coffee Shops - bonfire night and coffee with friend were my 2 outings.
Lunch to Work - Aiming for 20 days for DH 5/20 this is for DH only and is not very good at all. I make his lunch so need to make a bit more of an effort here.
Remove 60 Items - 8/60 nothing extra removed today but planning a good clean out tomorrow and DH has set a target of raising £250 from selling stuff which will see a few things leaving the house for good
Use up Toiletries and Condiments the condiment cupboard is looking emptier
Daily Fresh Air Walked the dog
Donate £5 - poppy appeal and shoe box donations done. CIN donation and I will drop my reverse advent calendar to the food bank collection point tomorrow
Daily Gratitude - 1) DH bringing me a lovely coat home from unclaimed lost property. It is too big (a 14 and I am a 10ish) but still wearable 2) finding a tin of earl grey teabags in the cupboard I forgot I had3) DS lovely young teacher taking the time to send photos and great comments about DS on the school app late this evening when she should have had her feet up with a glass of wine
Help others, Love People :heart2: Had a lovely chat with my Mum
New Habits - not doing so well on these
1) Eat 3 proper meals each day 10/30
2) Drink 2 glasses of plain water each day 8/30
3) Eat a minimum of 3 F&V each day 4/30
