mothernerd sending vibes to you and your mum.

Was naughty and went out for breakfast today, spent £11.60 so wasn't the end of the world. Went out for a lovely long horse ride, must've been out for an hour and half or so, the weather was warmer than I thought which was lovely. Have done a few jobs at home and about to go to yoga. When I get back will get some dinner on and also cook a casserole for tomorrow.

Finally gave in and set the regular timer for the heating as it's starting to get properly cold now, but am happy with how long I held off for! My house seems to be pretty warm so I'm grateful for that!

Thank you, mum is a little bit better today. We are both weak, slow and tired. Lots of sleep and naps, only a bit of simple food (baked potatoes, yoghurt) and we both managed to get washed and dressed by mid afternoon.

Watching old detective series and mum now has the football on so I shall retire elsewhere before she starts shouting at the tv. I'm inclined to stay over again and hope her colour has fully returned by tomorrow.

Today I am grateful for good sleep, simple food, peace and quiet.

    Hi everyone
Glad you and mom are both feeling a bit better, Mothernerd.

I haven't been out today or yesterday so 2 more sfds racked up. I am going to town tomorrow as my list is growing, so its got to be done.
Been making Xmas cards and finishing a couple of decorations off, really pleased with how they have turned out as Im not a paper crafter, I prefer sewing and Im not that good at that either!!!
    Gratitudes:
    1 A warm house.
2 The 'not my cat' visiting me for a couple of hours.
    3 Feeling positive about life.

Budget - is still on track.
NSD - I'm currently on 8/15, with tomorrow and hopefully Tuesday getting me up to numbers 9 and 10 *fingers crossed*
lunch to work - did this yesterday. Today is a day off, I have been out and about in town and to the supermarket but very pleased with myself for not indulging in a takeout lunch or treats.
remove 60 items - did not complete the clearout that I'd hoped for today, so will be on the backburner. Will try to get rid of at least 1 thing a day next week.
no new toiletries/ cleaning products/ condiments - bought my first item today, micellar water, to replace a bottle I finished on Thursday. Tried using other products I already had in the interim but they just didn't get rid of the make up well enough
reach out to others - messaged a friend who has postponed hang-outs a few times in the past 2 weeks, checking to see if all is okay.
grateful for - a lie in today (although not by much); my OH's niece for a thank you card; my cat for keeping me company and warm, so I don't have to put the heating on straight away :rotfl:

Today I am grateful for the team I was with at kids klub, for dd just loving the youth group, for being fed by friends at lunchtime and having a good old natter, for being able to do neighbour's washing and have enough space (just) to hang up both her's and ours, for having enough oomph to do a light workout first thing, for the twinkly fairy lights in the lounge, for a good book.

  • Good evening...

A double posting for the weekend... Alas no more NSDs as had weekly trip out with folks, and met a friend out today. Must try harder!!!

Elderly parents can be a worry, especially when their health starts to fail... Hugs Mothernerd - you do her proud - I'm glad she's feeling better. It can be hard juggling the needs of others for support with your own health needs - I'm in the same boat.

    I am grateful for:

    1. Having both parents around still
    2. For all the help and support my sister gives them, without which they'd probably already be in care
    3. For the little spark of... hope? Renewal? Something within me that I felt today for the first time in a long time - albeit briefly.

    I'm going to add another:

4.To everybody on here. We may not always comment on each others' posts but there is a definite feeling of belonging and shared determination to overcome adversity. They help me keep some perspective on my own life. Thank you.

    Night all...

Mothernerd, I'm glad to see you posting, hope you and your mum have a good night tonight.

I had a bit of a win with the decluttering - lost count of where I am, but realised that I was given a cat jigsaw two years ago, a posh one from Laura Ashley (huh?). It's a sweet thought, but I've never used jigsaws as an adult, and I've got no inclination to start - so off to the CS it goes :)

I'm on catsitting duties from tomorrow for the rest of the month (does that count as giving? it certainly helps out my young nephew and his wife) so I can't do anything thats based on home, but I'm still reading along and posting whenever I can.

Fresh air has been had over the weekend, some dog walks and some tidying up garden bits. 3 broken pots added to the "out of the house" total.
Had a house tidy up and more bits added to the CS box so sitting at 49/60 now. More of today's bits were DDs than mine so I need to have a sort through some of my stuff and add to the box as well.
Both yesterday and today were spend days, only about £5 yesterday which was OK but today popped in to the SM for a couple of bits and spent over £30! But I did pick up a couple of stocking filler bits, and veg for the bunnies so shouldn't need to get anything but milk, bread and fruit before next weekend.
Gratitudes for the weekend, DD helping with chores both inside and out, a lazy-ish weekend before the mayhem of the next 6 weeks, plans coming together with family and friends for the lead up to Christmas and the BBC for making a decent job of "his dark materials".
