Yesterday was Ramblers so me and the dog went on a 6 mile walk. Was freezing. Today I am taking my son to the Doctors and will try do more removing stuff from the house.

Well, I had expected to spend £40 on flowers for step-gran today, so did that first thing this morning for delivery the day before her 80th birthday. Took DS1 for his sign off from the awful-dontist, and he needed the top half of a new retainer, so now I am another £80 down. Unexpected! No wonder she only works Monday and Tuesday.

So I have money on the cc, (for the points) and nothing to show for it.

Cleaning the ground floor of the house today as it is dirt cheap and keeps me warm and moving about.

Decluttered 62 books and a never worn cream suspender belt that is now 2 sizes to small anyway, a jar of about 40 batteries to be recycled - I have bought rechargeable ones this year to replace the ones that run out- it is working really well, and a non-working carbon monoxide alarm. So 65 out of 60 sitting by the front door (not counting the other 39 batteries).

    It is raining.
Gratitudes: DS1 has straight teeth, magically found teething gel i did not know I had for DS4s mouth ulcer, that his mouth ulcer is only a mouth ulcer after a moment's panic I would finally be hit by hand, foot, and mouth (dodged that one so far), dark chocolate lebkuchen hearts in a penguin shaped biscuit tin, so that people say - 'chuck us a penguin heart!' instead of 'can I have a biscuit please'.

Yesterday managed another NSD 7/15 Hopefully today will be one, lots of food in.

New Habits Cut out 2 cups of tea this morning, replaced by lemon and ginger tea,

Decluttering 2/60 Finally took old glasses to specsavers. Will carry on filling bags at home and take them this week as notice Hospice shop was broken into, float stolen and goods. How bad is that?

Debts - £220 thrown at them yesterday just need another £100 to reach 2k. Feeling determined.

Outings, - have local theatre this week, already paid for ticket and only be a couple of drinks hopefully.

    Toiletries
Can I regift bath bombs? Using up all the shower gel I dont like but at the end get to use my nice smelling one.:D

Last of left over pork in butties today. Might have to be creative with large mushrooms for tea and a pepper?

    Gratitudes
Awake early, reading a book before work.
So glad I have a home, reading Phil Collins book - never knew he wrote Another day in Paradise after seeing all the cardboard boxes in Washington for the homeless.

    Warm office feeling toastie:)

I have to say that I'm only doing so well on NSDs because I'm not going out for fear of buying something that we don't need that will end up in the freezers. No matter how hard I try they just don't seem to be going down. I put it down to Himself buying so much bread type items, scones, pancakes etc. He has been warned!!!

So today I finished of my ironing and did a bit of tidying. Himself has a hospital appointment tomorrow and then meeting his friend so I really, really have to tackle decluttering.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

f0xh0les - they can charge what they like for those retainers, what choice do you have?

Have done lots of cleaning today and cycled aswell. Tea was spaghetti and meatballs for everyone except me, I don't love pasta so I had a jacket spud.

Put my old tv on freecyle (mentioning the sound issue) and had lots of responses, someone is coming for it this evening. That will be another decluttered item if it goes.

Budget - on track. Infact I've been so thrifty that even when bills leave between now and the end of the month, I will have an average of £10 a day to spend on food or whatever I like. Feel like I've missed something so hopefully it won't come back to bite me later.

Today is a NSD so I am on 5/15

Took lunch to work today, some bacon and leek pasta in cheese sauce. Soup for tomorrow

All the spare change in my purse donated to a charity collection - didn't count it properly but I would guess it came up to about 80p, not much but everything I had with me today.

Things I'm grateful for - A very positive and productive day at work; that I have a comfortable home (and workplace to be fair) to keep me warm when the weather is so horrid; that Professional Masterchef is back on telly!

Not been on any paid for outings.
Not removed anything from the house today.
Not bought any new toiletries/ cleaning products/ condiments.
Not been to any coffee houses.
Not reached out to anyone today cos I've been too busy to even think. My siblings messaged me today, so will respond to them later when I know we will both be free.

  • Finally on NSD 4 after all of the car drama.

Brought lunch with me today (soup, and some lentil crisps from Aldi), had my protein smoothie for breakfast as usual.

    Grateful for:
    - my fan heater at work
    - my new car
    - being able to fit in a good few hours of my self-employed work also (trying so hard to be debt-free for Christmas)

Short and sweet post, feeling tired, will post more extensively tomorrow haha :rotfl:
  • Not a nsd today - there was a ketchup crisis at home and ds was almost hysterical that there was none left (he is the only one that has it). So came home via L1dl and the weekly shop (2 days early, so more of a top up shop really) - spent £20.36. That also included my contributions for school's reverse advent calendar - putting items into a box to donate to the food bank.
Another busy day at work, and I just can't seems to get myself going again. I feel like I just want to hibernate - the bears have got the right idea, just overeat all summer then sleep for a few months.
Christmas plans are ticking on, and my crochet list is still massive. I don't think that I'll get them all done in time. Never mind - I refuse to stress about it.
Apple - I love that you are grateful for a crisp day. My brain immediately told me that I must eat as many cheese and onion as possible now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
