Didn't check in yesterday as didn't get home from work until late and had stuff to do at home. Have managed NSD's every weekday so far, although have lost count of how many I'm on, but hey ho!
Today I'd like to go for a walk after work if the weather permits. I had a session with my PT this morning so at least I know I've done some exercise already. My sessions are coming to an end soon but I'm so glad I paid for them as I've had back pain for so long and I'm finally pain free. So many people told me it would be a waste of money so I'm glad it hasn't been. Lovely soup for lunch, trying to be good with food but I've got such a sweet tooth!
Today I'm grateful for my PT, for a cheesy bread roll to go with my soup, and for a very hard to engage kid turning up today after weeks of trying.0 -
Still on NSD No 9
Himself was told a few weeks ago that he has spondylitis which is treated with physiotherapy and painkillers. Of course, refuses to take the painkillers and I'm not sure about the physio either. So today I bought him a neck support and orthopaedic pillow to see if that helps. He doesn't know yet because he would probably have dismissed the idea if I'd asked him. Anyway spoiling the NSD will be worth it if it helps.
He has a hospital appointment today (a different problem but nothing serious) and then he's meeting a friend. So I have attacked the spare room. Moved books to bookcases which freed up some room in cupboards. I've thrown out three bin bags of stuff (mostly old magazines and boxes) and it looks a lot better but there is still a lot of stuff there belonging to the Boy that has to be sorted. It will be collected by tomorrow before he knows any of it's gone.
I'm ashamed to say that I have also thrown out some food that was in the freezer. Leftovers that Himself said he would use up but, of course, he hasn't and probably never would. I hate waste of food but it is getting to the stage that I can't get the freezer doors shut. The stuff has been there so long he'll have forgotten about it (I hope!).
So I've spent the afternoon watching old films and writing some C cards. I love that time of year but find writing cards all at once such a chore. Must start buying stamps a few at a time now as well.
have a good evening.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
TV was collected last night and taken to its new home.
Groceries delivered today, not a big shop today but we have plenty in now. The house is looking pretty clean - for now - and I have taken the dog for a lovely walk in the woods.
Work tomorrow. My contract ends on 31st December but I will only be working till the end of this month, haven't told them that yet and don't plan to as they have really been unfair to me.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Yep! More washing on the line today, left it there when I went to see the local woman sing in the concert, 20 minute walk each way.

Huge gratitude for this concert thing, which is walking distance from my house, daytime (I can't do evenings), free and MONTHLY. Loads of faces I recognise there, and chatted to others. So grateful to start putting down a few roots locally. Even grateful that it didn't rain on my washing when I left it out :rotfl:
-start 1 or 2 new habits this month, ones that are simple and will make you feel better.

Making protein smoothies full of fruit and spinach for breakfast rather than junk food breakfasts (still going strong with this)
On NSD 5/15, tomorrow will be a planned spendy day.0 -
Minuscule update for #25.
Today was meant to be a NSD and a day I took lunch into work, but we have visiting food vendors that come in once every couple of months, and my favourite guy came in selling the tastiest authentic chinese food and I couldn't resist *slaps wrist*
Still within budget though as I spent less than £5, so I say it was worth it!
And I can still have the food I took in for dinner so nothing has been spoiled.

Hi everyone
Yesterday was a sfd but today wasn't, but it didn't cost much as I only needed a couple of crafty things and I was near to the shop.Christmas seems to be creeping up now.
I have sorted out a few more things for the CS, which I will take to the depot next week, this week I took an old Christmas tree and few other bits that dd3 gave me to take. I have sorted out a few books and will take them to the Oxfam book shop and promise I wont have a look around whilst Im in there.
Meals are mainly of the stew variety with good old porridge for breakfast and something warm for lunch. ie soup.
Grateful for:
1. Not using the car so much this month.
2. Having the flu jab at last (kept missing it at the drs)
3. All family members being fit and healthy (only the odd snotty nose anyway!)
See you all tomorrow, keep well everybody.

15 NSD 5 ,
Avoid every chain coffee shop etc. Support local shops and traders.- nothing today.
Remove 60 items from your house - 1 item today (donated to PTA) 214/60
Use up your toiletries and household cleaners before buying any more. - yep using up a perfume I no longer wear on a regular basis - I won't buy another one of this (have been wearing it since 2000, so I've had lots of bottles of it over the years)
Go on 2 outings - 1 done so far 1 planned for Sunday afternoon (homework time permitting!) - will be a free outing if we do go (watching the lantern procession to turn on Xmas lights in town, with carols in the cathedral afterwards) but may buy snacks/ drinks from the traders which will be out (but they aren't chains!- they are local, small/ artisan ones)
Donate £5 or time to charity - lots of 'things' donated to various places. Money donated to poppy appeal & Gloucester Cathedral. Have some things ready to send with DS2 to school for food bank as they are running a collection at the end of this month
Come on here every day and post 3 things you are grateful for. - an email I sent on Sunday leading to an informal interview this morning and a job offer this afternoon (casual/ ad hoc basis, which suits me), finish off the last of the glossing on the door, sorting DS2's phone out (wouldn't charge - moisture detected in charging point...), central heating, slippers
Start 1 or 2 new habits this month, ones that are simple and will make you feel better - fewer cups of tea and min 4 f&v per day - good on tea and about 8 portions of veg - . .I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
I've had a spendy couple of days. We had 2x 10 off 40 at liddle vouchers, from a free paper (yay) so have been there on 2 consecutive days as my brain wasn't up to concocting an £80 shopping list! Included some bits for the foodbank and for my neighbour. She's not at the level of needing a fb (yet) but things could so easily deteriore for her and if I can help to prevent that, then I reckon I jolly well should.
Today I am grateful for being well enough to return to work, for a good day at work, for a car, for the liddle vouchers, for a warm coat, for UHU glue, for gf sausages, for fleecy blankets, for the gorgeous colour on the trees, for felt unicorns with cmas hats on.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
